Finnerty doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene. He's got a UA-cam channel that's doing all right.
Damn that guy from August is Falling killing it with this cover!
The 3 thumbs down are from Weezer, Kid Rock, and Three Doors Down
And Beato.. aaahhg i don't know about that guy
LOL that made me literally LOL in the old school meaning. I laughed out loud. Good times.
LOL!!!
Already 10 thumbs down. One is mine. In my opinion, if it flows, it's music. If it doesn't flow, it's not real music. And this is too cerebral in my opinion. Thanks for sharing anyway!
Obligatory comment about thumbs down. I get where you’re coming from, I get it I guess it’s just getting old...
True story: Kid Rock's bass player saw this and he was like "fuck yeah!"
and the 3 Doors Down producer added "That's what I'm talkin about"
Aw hell yeah
hell yeah
The floating disembodied Rivers Cuomo head said “Gimmie gimmie!”
What did seether think about all of this?
Wow, this rules. So cool to hear two guys playing this song in sync so well.
You need more amps that aren't plugged in behind you, though.
Just doesn’t sound the same without more amps not plugged in
@@alexanderjames04 irony would be the acoustic being the only one plugged in.
blue brothers bar owner lady voice: oh we got both kinds, teles and strats.
Oh, jeez #RawHide
And acoustic too!
I usually sign my traveller's checks on the glove box, just need a pencil
@@RideAcrossTheRiver 1980 film well remembered
Thank you for replying, great film I have a grandson called Elwood
ok, now I trust your opinions a little more
I come to the channel to learn why songs are stinkers and here I am finding the most worthy sultans of swing cover I have ever heard in my LIFE holy crap Pat you're even more of a real one than I could have possibly known
Every time I come back to this song is a delightful treat
Kinda like Dire Straits with Allman Brothers harmonies. Damn fine!
Right????
Well said, this version fuckin rips
My initial thought was "what if Sultans of Swing was approximately 100% more Hotel California...?"
A clever idea, well executed. Having two lead-capable guitar players in a band opens up neat possibilities.
Or if you really wanna crank it to 11, have 3 lead guitarists like iron maiden post-99
This is probably the most tone accurate cover of this i've ever heard, and that harmonized solo was incredible
Woah, Beato! With the harmonization, love this stuff Pat, keep it coming.
sometimes I just love the UA-cam algorithm
@@leewhite2195 The title is just a needle at Rick Beato. :)
Geez man, just got this autosuggested to me. As a massive Thin Lizzy fan I never get tired of harmonized guitar parts. This was amazing.
Amazing!! You need to do Allman Brothers in Arms :-)
👆👆 This person deserves all the likes we can gather folks. 🤣🤣🤣
Those harmonies are nuts holy shit
Sick drumming too!! Props to da drummer!!!!
2 Knopflers for the price of one! I'm seeing double Knops! Seriously great job on a true classic. The only time I get into a cover song is either when it's done with appreciation and respect it deserves, or when it's a (good) new and different take on the song. But you guys definitely nailed it!
5:02 Why isn't everyone at that venue screaming at the top of their lungs right there? That, my man, is talent (or tons of practice). Either way, I'm massively impressed.
Both
Did you not hear the five minutes before that too?
because most bar crowds are just idiots barely standing with drinks, not actual music fans.
That’s literally the easiest part of the solo lol
@@Gsmoovie420 I wanted to say it but didn't have the giant bawlz to. Thanks Bezos 😆
Holy hell I was not expecting the main solo to sound so great with the constant harmony!
DUDES! That was sickBeato. The Felder/Walsh feel of the dueling guitars was very satisfyingBeato.
BEATO
Why isn’t there a wall full of Marshall’s behind you?
Someday he’s gonna do a gig in front of a big group of guys named Marshall and you’re going to regret this comment
@@enginerdy I’ll regret it if they stack 3 tall like a full stack lol
I’m ok with there not being any Marshall’s. The lack of a pedal mobil is a problem though.
Or the pedalmobile, really
They need more amps than Van Halen in ‘81
Love all the licks from the live versions thrown in!
The harmonization is pure powerful beauty.
Holy crap when this was over UA-cam automatically played a Beato video!
I’ll never forget this night for as long as I live! Just grateful I was able to witness it in person during a time when live music was a very rare occurrence. ♥️
It looks like you are jamming at a Christmas Tree sale in a Wal Mart parking lot.
Ahh, that’d be sweet.
I played in a ska punk band in high school back in the 90's and we tricked a Media Play into letting us play a gig in their store by telling them we were a jazz band figuring that since we had horns they wouldn't figure it out until it was too late and they definitely didn't figure it out until it was too late 😂
That's the way you do it. Play the guitar on UA-cam. Get your chicks for free... nice job guys👍
I don’t know… that ain’t workin.
these guys all bounce together while playing like muppets
Oh wow, I used to play this with my band as a 12 year old kid at school in London in '87. This brings back that feeling. We weren't quite up to those double harmonies at that tender age, but man we had taste.
Yeah you did bro
Fan-fucking-tastic. The harmonies at the end of the solo were so good.
The dual leads are awesome. And gotta give it up for the rhythm section keeping it pumping the whole time.
I'm really digging the guitars...because it's some really nice guitar work ya know...then I realize if it wasn't for the bass and drums...fuck yeah!
@@jeffkeniand Cousin Mike on the acoustic 🤘🏼
And Cousin Mike on the acoustic too, thanks for pointing out the oversight. What a band. Very tight.
Hi Pat, Hi Mike, It's your Uncle Kevin, you know ..... from Albany, NY!
Great version. Loved the dueling geetars! Tight is right.
Albany? I am a mile away in Watervliet!
I grew up in Utica and I've never heard of you
@@IgnoresTrolls I live in Rome and I've def heard of Kevin but I've never heard of YOU, just a lil sus 🤔
@@IgnoresTrollsmay I see it?
How does this sound so good? Everything is mixed so perfectly
Thanks dude. Now my brains are all over my monitor and my socks are clear across the room.
!
Awesome rendition. Pat's rasp evokes Knoffler but this is pure Finnerty 😊
What Makes This Song Stink?
Just kidding man, this fucking rules.
Yeah, that pat finnerty, iunno about that guy
i cant wait til he does one on a song he likes just for the pained break between analysis and feeling
The singing makes it suck
It’s great to hear you keeping the classics ALIVE!!! 🎸😎 I actually got chills listening to those double Knopflers.
I started rock n rolling, then smokin weed, then trippin nuts....then I really started rockin. Eventually, Grateful Dead creeped in and instantly I realized how awesome Dire Straights are!
Abusing drugs and other vices are not good, and will lead to hell. Only Jesus Christ can save us from that
@@unkownoflife5959if they lead him to dire straits they can't be too bad
Hi Pat, Hi Mike, this is not your Uncle Kevin from Albany. But I saw his comment earlier. Seems like an affable guy. I had something to say, but I can't quite remember what it was......damn it. Oh well. Don't forget to floss.
You were gonna remind them to bring a towel!!
🎶🎵Timothy McSweeney... Timothy McSweeney. He has a pencil and he writes stuff down.

Done!🎵🎶
Bros.. this was so epic. Gave me chills. The Full Band was tight af. DK is a genius idea and amazingly executed by all involved.
Everything should get that Thin Lizzy double lead treatment.
this is like discovering the existence of the double rainbow.
Pat, this performance is joyful 😂 this makes me want to play more
Sultains is a Fantastic song and already a legend - played with huge passion by you guys 👍👍👍
That harmonised solo is so so good!
One of my favorite songs to play, you guys nailed it! Can't wait to see more of your channel.
That was amazing. Perfect harmonies at every level. More importantly they weren't competing but complimenting. Amazing.
This was like a dream come true. It’s the version of the song I always heard in my head.
I've got no clever words. You guys nailed it on such a high and rare level. Like the few times you got your bends in precise sync. One time, LS; two times, ABB; three times, Gilmour and Snowy White. And finally, fuck yeah! Damn, I'm impressed.
I've played that exact show. Everyone's +1.
Pretty rad. They are the sultans who play thin Lizzy
.......thin lizzy
The Thin Straits
Thank you. 😃 I was scrolling to make sure I wouldn't make a redundant comment. That dual guitar triggered the same switch in my brain. And, to the other comment, I was thinking Dire Lizzy. 😁But this was just a great version no matter what.
There's something to be said for a dirty cellphone lens for some cheap special effects
Thoroughly enjoyed that, thanks for sharing!
It always takes some effort not to die of pleasure listening to this. 😁
Absolutely fantastic! The harmonized guitar work was the stuff of artistic musical magic and sonic perfection.
Cool show Pat, you were enjoying yourselves so much as well and that was infectious and made the entire performance even better!
This is an excellent cover. I love this song.
Man wow, literally just came from doing a back-to-back comparison and while obviously, no one plays like Knopfler, you guys really did an amazing job honouring his work and even adding in some awesome licks and an extra layer with the harmonies. Somebody show this to Knopfler, I bet he'd be impressed. Great job guys!
That was awesome! Truly enjoyed seeing how happy you were playing it 🤘those harmonies reminded me of my favorite band august is falling. They’re the only reason I’m still alive
Love this channel. Really fantastic rendition of this song.
loooove this song, fantastic job!
Glad to see Christmas tree stands have uses in spring
Ps oooh ending on the tonic + solos in the right key!
You should post more of your band. This was good!
this was fun as hell to watch. those harmonies! nice work
I wouldn't even have to be drunk to hoot and holler after that. Chef's kiss.
Simply awesome. Proper talent 👏
I never knew I needed this...
This should have so many more likes...
Amazing!! Congratulations from Brazil!!
Love the harmonizing leads! Awesome
Holy shit, fantastic version of this classic. Well done!
beautiful tone. love it
I will watch almost any rendition of this song when it is suggested to me.
This was quite good. 👍👍
I appreciate this so much.
Pat and band....AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful performance! Sounds perfect.
This is so insanely good.
This looks like my favorite bar in Northern Michigan
Great job! You can tell you guys were having fun.
Amazing guitar work.
You guys and Brian Fallon are the only two artists I’ve ever seen that do this song justice. Awesome performance and absolutely killer solo
How could I not upvote this?
Pat! I know it feels gross: PLUG YOUR BAND IN YOUR VIDS! Even if its quick at the end or beginning. You are about to blow up to Beato status, make sure people know how to sell out your shows. They will.
One of my personal GOAT songs.
Beautiful!
This is awesome, man. Thanks
Excellent brothers!!!
Jeez, nailed it. Not like we expect anything less but damn this was so spot on
Love these Sultans
Immensely satisfying. Well done folks.
I'm so glad I found this channel.
I really enjoyed that thanks guys
This channel needs 100,000 subs minimum. This is good stuff.
Hahaha, I love the dancing lights. Reflections of the stage lights off the camera lens. The band sounds pretty tight. Good show.
Brilliant! Lovin all u stuff man :)
Holy Uncle Kevin from Albany, that was smokin’!!!!
of all the Uncle Kevin covers of this song I've heard, this one is the From Albaniest
Such a great cover
THAT WAS. AWEEESOME!!
