Real Animals In Pokemon: Why Do They Exist?

- With over 1000 Pokemon in existence, it's hard to remember a time where there felt like every real world animal wasn't represented in Pokemon. But I remember. #pokemon

I get why they don't have them anymore, but I kinda like the idea of regular animals existing in the Pokémon world too. A lot of Pokémon in Gen1 felt closer to JRPG monsters than animals, especially the fighter types. I prefer that over the idea that people actually eat pokemon.
I agree that having a monster collector like that would be cool. But I love the rich world of pokemon and adding animals now would just make things weird in a bad way
In the original lore, Pokémon was set in our world, and animals still lived alongside Pokémon. The games were originally set in 1990's Japan, and all of the other countries on Earth still existed. At that time, only 151 Pokémon had been discovered IN THE WORLD, it wasn't just "the other regions have known about them the whole time". Pokémon evolved (Darwinian evolution) from regular animals, and in some cases, some Pokémon evolved into regular animals. Vulpix, for example, evolved from a fox, but foxes still existed. Of course, Pokémon had the advantage over regular animals in most cases, when it comes to competing for food, territory, and survival in general. Back then, the lore wasn't afraid to say that Pokémon were predators and they do have animalistic behaviours, such as hunting and eating each other.
A lot of things got rescanned later, especially with the introduction of other regions, but I still love the original lore and would love to see a modern adaptation of it.

@@cesar6447 Maybe they were recently discovered dinosaurs that were the first animals to undergo the evolutionary process as the modern pokemon, but went extinct when a meteor hit earth.
No one thought Pokemon was going to become such a cultural phenomenon with actual lore. They just didn't think that far ahead.

Real animals might still exist, in scarlet and violet we can see real fish being served in the restaurants, also the scarlet book mentions pterasaurs not aerodactyl
Heres my headcanon: animals and pokemon are one and the same and live in the same ecosystem
Real animals appeared in the early step of the Pokemon game series when the world was not yet fully developed, but nowadays the company denies that real animals would live and existed in the Pokemon world.
What do humans eat in the Pokemon world if Gamefreak denies real-world animals exist in the Pokemon World. I would like to see Fried Torchic being eaten by humans in place of Chicken.

My headcanon is that animals are fictional creatures in the pokemon world like theyre the fictional creatures in the pokemon world unlike in the real world where pokemon are the fictional creatures
If your headcanon happen to be true. I would wonder, why? They live in the world full of monster, why would they made up these weaker version of pokemon.

I like to imagine animals do exist but pokemon are like the new species in this universe and the real animals are rare
The theory that real world animals being wiped by Pokemon would kinda be impossible because I highly doubt a Tauros stands a chance in a fight against a Spanish Fighting Bull, hell even with resurrected Pokemon like Tyrantrum would get washed by a T-Rex especially considering their weight and size difference.
Good point, but Tauros does has an advantage though. Tauros can learn Earthquake, Hyper Beam and Blizzard. A Spanish bull would get destroyed

I want to see a Pokémon game set in India. Or China. Or Brazil. I think those would be more interesting than another European country.
4 regions are based on Japan (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh) 2 from United States (Unova and Alola), 3 from Europe, France (Kalos), the United Kingdom (Galar), and the Iberian Peninsula (Paldea).
they're working on it. you cant expect them to make a series based off every country in just 27 years. that's only 3 years a region. it requires a lot of creativity and story boarding to make a decent show. not to mention they're more likely to base a region off a country by viewership than a random pull.

I think animals do exist and Pokemon are just mutated animals that people created to give animals powers.
