Davy! OMG, It is not an STD anymore! There is no disease involved. Let's transition our community to using STI which might minimize the judgment that people have around these common and easily treatable infections, and maybe even reduce the stigmatizing language you talk about it in the video!
Just cause you change the language doesn’t negate the fact that a lot are still sexually transmitted diseases. Simply put, health related issues should not be worded differently just because of “feelings”. That’s an issue that today’s society, in my opinion, has definitely gotten wrong!
Get over it. Just like we can’t say “monkey pox” because some white people immediately start thinking racist things about black people when they hear the word “monkey”. Some times the stigma is internal and words aren’t going to save you or anyone!

The word "clean" has always rubbed me the wrong way and as person living with HIV it's particularly offensive. Nowadays, if a potential hookup asks me whether I'm clean I firstly answer humorously that "of course I'm clean, I've already douched" or some variation on that. If they persist, I then point them to the various "about me" sections of any given profile as my undetectable and on-treatment status is always disclosed. Sometimes I try to educate potentials.
