The most helpful tutorials i have seen while working on my project. All your explanations were simple and understandable to a novice like myself but I also feel like it wasn’t so annoyingly over explained so that even a person that has more project under their belt could watch and get some tips. Also all this in under 10 mins! You, Ma’am have it figured out I didn’t even have to speed up the playback or skip through to keep my attention. Very well executed video and beautiful cabinet!
This is the simpliest shaker door method I’ve seen on UA-cam. You are the best. Thank you.
Thank you SO MUCH!!! This was such a helpful video. I just watched several videos of dudes makes cabinet doors with $50,000 worth of machinery which I don't have. This was exactly what I needed to see. Thank you!!!
I just want to say thank you for using a marker and notebook for the math. People like to use fancy graphics and I know one guy (Engineering Explained I think) likes to use a whiteboard and he's known for it. But it saves SOOO much on editing headaches to just be able to point things out with pen and paper.
I am 73 years old and not easily impressed but you have really impressed me. Your ease of work and how your approach each task is great. Besides you, I want to Thank whoever taught you how do handle tools as well as your teaching skills. Thanks Rachael
The most simple shaker door method that I have viewed on UA-cam. The pocket holes can hidden with pocket hole filler wedges. Also, there hidden hinges on Amazon that can installed on cabinets with ledges. I used them when I installed my new kitchen cabinet doors.
Dear Rachel, Thank you for this amazing video. You make it look so easy. The doors are perfect. You also have the gift of teaching. You are a teacher in the best sense of the word.
Sweet use of algebra! And nice results with the doors.
Good video. It could have been better if you had shown how to attach the hinges to the cabinet. How do you know how close or far away to put them? Thanks
I was just coming on here to ask this question.
Excellent thank you for this easy tutorial.
Loved the vid, it was very helpful. Do you have one on how your hung the door to the book case?
So awesome!! It looks beautiful. You should link the tools, hinges, and equipment you use in the bio. As a newbie I have no idea where or what exactly to buy!
Just updated the description!
@@ShadesofBlueInteriors how do I find the description? Been clicking around and I don't see it. Sorry, I'm not usually this dumb! Also, great job!

Wow, so informative…. Ty for sharing details, they make a difference for us beginners 🤝👌♥️
Thanks for the very clear instructions.
Amazing. Doing this to my shoe bench, cuz i dont wanna SEE those shoes anymore.
Phyoomz which is exactly why am on here!
Really enjoyed the video--thanks! Two questions: 1. Any reason why I couldn't use 1/4" plywood for the interior piece of the door? Just wondering if lighter weight may be better for the project I'm considering. 2. Also, thinking of doing this with an Ikea bookcase that's made out of MDF. Will that create any issues with the hinges or should it work just fine?
Depends on the hinge, but I'd say you would have a hard time finding a hinge that can sit in 1/4" wood (it'd have to at least have a molding to make the edges thickers). The door would also be more prone to warping at 1/4".
That was an awesome build. Just put the kreg hinge jig in my cart, lol. Thanks!!
Nice video, exactly what I was looking for. Explained and shown how you did it. Thanks and nice work!
You did a great job Rachel! keep making videos! You are good at it! im taking 3 big Billie Ikea bookshelves, make doors, and will make them a movable pallet storage wall. I love your kreg hinge jig! had no idea they had one!
Love this video!! You really do make it look super easy! Thanks for sharing!!💕 What color and brand paint did you use for the bookcase?
Excellent.
Great video! I will be trying this method the next time I need to make doors. :)
Kate thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
your great at explaining!
This is very informative!
How do you know what depth to set the kreg hinge jig to for the type of hinges you are using?
Can I use this method to install doors in an old entertainment center opening?
nice work
Thank you for sharing, I love it.
Wow! Great video!
Hello, just came across this video. Do you remember about how much your project cost minus any tools? Just the wood plywood? Trying to estimate cost for 8 doors and compare that to the Oxberg doors you can purchase from IKEA. For 8 from IKEA it’s 360 plus tax 😮
Awesome!!!
could i remove the rails and stiles and use a bigger piece of plywood?
sonia jangla you could, but it wouldn’t look very good. The rails and stiles give it a finished and professional look.
If you did want to remove the rails and stiles how would you measure that? Just add 1/2 inch to height and width?
I agree - list the products you use in the description!
Just updated the description!
Could you tell me about how much the card stock was. I dont gace card stock haha
How much of an inset it made the plywood I guess is a better question
as soon as you got to the math I said no thanks.. they can stay like that
I'm looking for I guess an outside mount bypass track to make sliding door fronts?
What are the exact measurements of the stiles and the rails
Never mind I got it
Are your rail and stiles also plywood?
Gary Cooper no, they are 1x3s!
Sorry that's too much math just take an inch off of each side🤣🤣🤣 but nice work 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
L wood 😂😂 I mean technically you ain’t wrong! But I was trying to help people figure out how long to cut each piece of wood! Hahaha! Can you tell I’ve been teaching my oldest algebra and have been trying to convince him of real-life applications?? 🙄😂😂
