Hate to be 'that guy" on the internet (trust me) but I feel compelled to say that all cabinets need to be attached to the wall. It is a tip hazard and can kill kids. You can get an anti-tip strap and attach it to the top of the cabinet and then to the wall. This is a beauty, I am going to try to do this for my bathroom. They make special paint for spray guns. I accidentally bought some and could NOT use it with a paint brush or roller because it was so watery. It comes out really good in a spray gun I hear but I havent bought a spray gun yet, but want to try to use one! Had to return the paint, but it was highly recommended for spray guns lol. Oops!
Good job! and yeah WOW the transformation is double take. Thanks for such a good video too - great instruction - both of you - sharing each step you took was terrific help for newbies and oldhands. Looking forward to more...
You guys did an amazing job with this project! Thanks for the inspiration, I've been thinking about making doors for a set of large wood cabinets I got for free and have been procrastinating 🙃 thanks for sharing- you guys are great together 👏 blessings🙏
You should of used Zinsser Primer, you wouldn't of had to sand that down! Also, you can use wall strap to secure to wall. It looks very nice, you did a good job!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks great! That almost became an OH SHIT! moment when opening the door the first time I think I would put one of those child safety straps on the top and secure it to the wall
I owned a paint sprayer for one single day for the same reason--maybe it's my climate or something, but the paint would dry in the nozzle just enough to make splashy streaks like that, and I hated cleaning the darn thing afterwards too. Way easier to just use a roller (molding rollers are a smoother finish than wall rollers anyway).
This is one of the best DIY bookshelf tutorials i have seen. Definitely going to try this!!!

It was also a Walmart cabinet those are flimsy and cheap.
You two are adorable. I do a lot of furniture painting and repair but never added doors to a cabinet. Just found you both. Love from a 65 y/o grandma.
I literally have the same bookshelf. You guys SAVED my life! Love y’all 😭😂❤️
I didn’t even think of taking off 1/4” for movement…. Thats brilliant! Im adding doors to my $20 target bookshelf lol

Good job, it looks great!!!
Looks so great!
You may have to water down the paint in the spray gun.
Question would chalk paint be good for this? beautiful!!
I don’t see why not! I think that would look awesome
Looks amazing. Do you guys think I could do this with fabric for the inside of the door frame instead of the wood?
Yes!
