I would like to see you mod a calculator to do something cool I myself though of turning a calculator into a launchpad to create some music or play sound effects or something You could even hack the display, so you could still use the original display of the calculator
it is probably a good idea to make a small video explaining how to install the os on a raspberry pi and just link to it, saves a lot of time in the video and in the production of it
Since the NTC CHIP has a built in 3.5mm jack and built in battery power management wouldn't it be worth considering over the pi zero w for audio projects like this?
I know you really wanted the retro radio look and all, but next time try using proper wood, it'll sound a lot better! I've repurposed an old PC speaker set (those cheapo USB-powered desktop speakers that come with prebuilt pcs) on a wooden enclosure and they sounded a lot better than when they were inside a plastic shell
The likelihood of me making this project is as much as seeing a potato eating a fish that a was ridingna bycicle eating pajamas" that being said I have no money. Any cheap alternatives?
Noel Knickelbein, A cheap alternative, use an android cellphone (something like a cheap samsung galaxy from ebay) and some PC speakers, mod it into an old radio. Shouldn't be that expressive and pretty functional.
How about a series of lessons for us electronics noobs. I'm not good with soldering or understanding the breadboard configurations but am a coder. Just wish I knew electronics. There's no good teacher on youtube :/
You're comparing what cost around $100 dollars in 1950, to what costs about $50 today...... And paying $100 for a radio in 1950, is literally the same as paying just over $1,200 today. In short, you're comparing apples to oranges.
For Godsake pls stop damn VINTAGE Stuff....M tired of them.....Pls do some projects like "making your own spy car" PLs do so, and yeah the bt rc car video doesn't work and isn't clear...
Love this. Posting it on the blog tomorrow!
(PS: how did we miss this back in the day?!)
dear lord this is all beyond my ability.
I'd suggest maybe including all of the commands in the description for easy copy/paste action.

Wow, great work! It looks and functions amazingly well!
just a thought, but the pi zero w supports bluetooth, so you could easily have it connect an external bluetooth speaker with the push buttons?
Great as usual . Love it.
You dropped some zingers in this episode. Fantastic build. :)
Irresistible song is back!
This video was great to listen to in the background while I was making a program of my own lol

He has done in the past, but he didn't link it this time.
you sir are a genius.What did you study?Computer engineering??Thanks
So cool, thanks!
didn't we watch this before!!? or it's a déjà vu
Quick Look n Teardown IVE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE

I order the CHIP pro last month it still has not been shipped
Vontux do u have any insights why its taking so long
3 Minutes ago, oh boy
How about next project, a streaming radio that actually transmits to our ye olde FM radios using PiFM? That would be cool😃
didn't you do this a few years back?

Put some effort in it and the likelyhood of you making this shoots up to "maybe"
Still Have No Money.
Noel Knickelbein This is the cheap alternative

You can save some money when using chip instead of the pi zero w. Unlike the pi it has audio and lipo protection built in. And it costs the same.
Vincent Wiedermann I order the CHIP PRO last month and its still not shipped. idk what to do wait or go with this
Awesome!
Pretty complete tutorial!!

Could you do something like a Home assistant?
how would I make a streaming radio? put it inside an old bookshelf Hi-Fi system and add cd and aux functions
How about a weather station using a raspberry pi with a anemometer, for the next video. you can use astro pi for it
The FM radio network is shut down in Norway :(
Nice.
wouldnt it be easyer just to download the spotify app?
Can you help me to convert a usb input from the Guitar and record in Laptop
First curl, then wget. You don't have to decide if you use them both 😏
I do kickboxing with a guy who looks just like you, but he program Arduinos instead of RaspberryPis.
I'm thinking of turning and old android phone into a streaming radio or music player.
you could also use a cheap USB audio card for less then 2$
Ma man! Viva Las Vegas
Is it possible to do it am or fm
i cant do this shit, why am i watching then?
thinkercad is autocad acount?
is it possible to use a media program as image instead of standard raspbian?
👍👍👍
Don't be a noob, use DD to create the SD
and write of=/dev/sda as a good noob
How I would make one: Buy a Google home
2:30 I also compare modern music to the output of a toilet.
A blue tooth speaker?
That would be a nice addition. A bluetooth module
IIRC raspberry 0 W already has bluetooth, so it's just a matter of pairing it on either raspbian or using bluetoothctl via SSH
