Got my Rockwell 6S and a Leaf Twig thank you your reviews. I'm absolutely in love with the 6S that plate 3 (for every two/three day shave) and 5 (weekly shave) are my jam. Absolutely 5/5 razor worth every penny including their full 6S kit that come with ALL the stand, high quality barbershop cream/pre-oil/balm and 100x razors. BANGER. The Twing is also cool specially for travel but Rockwell are top of the game.
Good video. I love my Rockwell 6c and 6s. I start with the 4 plate then 3 plate on the next pass and finish against the grain with the 2 plate. I lather up and then let the lather soften the beard while I change plates. No irritation and near bbs. 👍👍👍
@ohioshaves rockwell 6c I think I discovered one of my inefficiencies… I need to learn how to get the proper angle while shaving. Thanks for the video. The Rockwell 6c looks awesome.
Really appreciate your videos on shaving . Older guy here retired now and decided to up my shave this past year. Found geofatboy videos initially and got the Merkur Progress from his web store, they provide great service too! On the Merkur I settled on setting 1 - 2 on it and mostly Personna blades. Was getting really good shaves but always found a little bit of harsher shave then I liked. So searched for a new razor. Your UA-cam channel is way more detailed and real time to the point I could get a good sense of the different razors you’ve tested. Anyway with this last review of yours ( and other reviewers) I ordered the 6c in gunmetal. I got in on a great discount too at Rockwell! I was shocked at how much smoother and efficient the 6c is over the Merkur. Been shaving a few days with it , started on 3 plate , then 4, flipping them to 1 and 2. I’ll just sum up to say this is a must buy for a wet shaver, experienced or even newbie. Great reviews, keep it up!
I agree with everything you said about the Rockwell 6C. It's the perfect safety razor for a beginner. In fact, the 6C convinced me to buy the 6S. The 6S have been my daily driver (mostly) for 2 years. But...I recently discovered a safety razor for the same price as the 6C that might tempt me to switch from my 6S.
@@OhioShaves The all stainless steel RazoRock Game Changer .68. It is as smooth and as efficient as the 6S R4 plate. Maybe even a tad bit more efficient. But that doesn't matter to me because I always do 3 passes plus pickups. What I like about the Game Changer over the 6S is the thinner head, the blade end tabs are enclosed in the head, and the handle knurling is similar to my Rex Ambassador. You might prefer the Game Changer .84 because I have sensed that you like a bit more aggression than I do. I never thought I would find a safety razor that might pull me away from my 6S. And time will tell if it does.
@@BartBuzzJust received my GC .76 and am about to have my first shave with it. Currently, the 6C #4 is my daily driver. Still trying to find the ideal blade. Recently tried a Nacet in the 6C and it was mighty wonderful.
@@scottsdalemedicalmassage Congrats! Let me know what you think. The Nacet is my #1 favorite blade. But every blade I've used with my 6S has been good. I just get more shaves with the Nacet. I used an Astra Green for my two shaves with the GC 68. Other blades that I rotate are Wilkinson Sword (India) and Personna Lab Blue. I'll be trying all of my favorites with the GC over the next couple of weeks. My 6S will be on hiatus while I enjoy my new shaver.
@@BartBuzz Not my best shave but I’m thinking it was the blade. Went with a fresh Wizamet Iridium in the GC .76. 3 passes and a lot of touch up. One tiny weeper but no irritation. Maybe I need to find the right angle of the razor but I’m leaning toward the blade. I’ll go again tomorrow with a Nacet for comparison. Also have some Feathers, Personna Labs/Reds, Astra Greens and PermaSharps to put into the mix.
Great to see you mixing up content from face shaves to head shaves and shorts , bringing shaving community together and giving great tips to people that didn't took a leap to safety razor shaving yet. It helps so much , since the mainstream media is pushing only cartridges as their golden cow. I would like to see more face/head shaving combo videos tho 💯😁
I have da Gamechanger .84 and unless it breaks or something, I will never need another razor. The other razor I am going to try is the razor rock hawk v3
@ohioshaves Rockwell 6c Rockwell's amazing. Got the model t2 recently. Craftsmanship and weight balance is impeccable. My Parker variant has imbalance blade gap and I'm not a fan of the blade bending. Love the weight though. My slim adjustable is too light and thus I sometimes press down too hard (razor burns) but it has TTO. The model T2 combines what I love from both! Though the t2 requires quite a bit of strength for the TTO knob.
After buying my Henson mild, I gave away my Rockwell and retired the Twig to a drawer. I'll find someone to give the Twig to later on. The rigidity of the blade in a Henson to me makes all the difference. Plus the handle surprised me at what a good grip it has. Between the knurling and the light weight it never come close to slipping in my soapy fingers. The Henson is the best razor I've ever owned and at $70 it's a bargain.
@ohioshaves Rockwell 6c. Love the videos. Just switched to a safety razor based on your recommendations. One tip which I just recently saw and tried this morning is to rinse the razor under cold water, not warm water. It’s supposed to temper the blade and seemed to provide a smoother shave.
@ohioshaves Rockwell 6c -- Since you started with rockwell 6c I was encouraged to buy one and it is really very good, I plan to buy the rockwell 6s and the Henson, but first the 6s, thank you very much for the advice and your reviews ... Greetings from Mexico
@ohioshaves rockwell6c. You are the reason I bought the Leaf twig. It is fantastic, but I think it's time to shave my head and the 6C would be more effective. Thank you for your videos! They gave me all the confidence in the world to go safety razor.
@ohioshaves Rockwell 6C On a whim, I bought the adjustable slant plastic razor from Phoenix. It works surprisingly well. The only downside is that it’s continuously adjustable, so it often slips out of whatever setting I try to put it in. Maybe the Rockwell plate system is the answer. Too bad they don’t make a slant!
@ohioshaves Rockwell 6C So i have completed my third shave ever with my Hensons Ti Medium and just figured out how to really use it the right way. It's like the light bulb just lit up, and I love it. I'm still new to the world of shaving here because I've just recently converted over from a lifetime of cartridge heads. Question though, have you done a deep dive into the topic of shaving creams? I'm still using the cheap Barbasol stuff in the can. I am wondering if a good shaving cream, like you do with the brush and everything, will make a difference. Thanks! 🙂
@ohioshaves Rockwell 6C Never tried the Rockwell. I’ve tried several safety razors but keep going back to the twig. Would love to try the Rockwell and see why everyone loves it.

Not in this one - I have a 6c and 6s. I agree everyone should try it. The head is a bit bulky but the smooth shave is undeniable. You should try The RazoRock game changer .68 and .84P next. Stick with solid bar.
I had the Rockwell 6S, but it wasn`t my favorite - I changed the 6S for an Razorock Gamechanger .84 - the Gamechanger is great, but I have to train with it... PS: I also have the 2C from Rockwell and I like him much better than the 6S...am I stupid...?
@ohioshaves rockwell 6c Good razor there, tempting to get this but i should just go for adjustable butterfly razor next... My Henson al13 has been good to me since my purchase. But just got bad ingrown hair/ black spot at my chin from previous ATG shaves. What blade do you recommend to load on henson al13?
@ohioshaves rockwell 6c Very interesting this one. It's definitely been a top smooth shaver for a lot of the guys here. I have a terrible ingrown hairs after a few days of the shave. Just curious how did it help with that?
Not having multiple blades, go across your face that actually cut the hair under the skin line which causes ingrown hairs. With this razor and most double edge safety razors, you get a nice clean cut, that doesn't go below your skin. Which reduces the risk for ingrown hairs, skin irritation, razor bumps, you name it. Safety razors have completely changed the way I shave and how well my skin looks after shaving
I would like to see you review some slant razors. I would also like to see more review of other soap companies. Love your channel. Just ordered some leaf shaving oil based on your video cant wait to try it.
David - I prefer your longer videos - but like all your content. I follow your shave routine religiously! Now I have a conundrum - yesterday I shaved with a Jagger 3one6 and fresh Nacet blade. It was the perfect shave (for me). BBS all over and virtually no irritation, cuts or weepers. So, once you reach perfection, what do you do with all the surplus razors and blades? Strangely, reaching perfection is kind of sad. The quest for the perfect shave is over 😢. What now? George

@ohioshaves rockwell 6c. Hello this is my first comment in your channel. Thank you for the informative content and the time you take to present all about shaving! Since a teenager i was using only Mach 3 and Nivea products. Being in my forties now i am more aware as a consumer and two things bothered me so much to start searching for other ways of shaving… Firstly while i respect Gillette for their history and innovation, their pricing on Mach 3 is crazy high. Despite it IS the best cartridge razor i find it a ripoff nowadays. Secondly around the period of the first covid hit, Ninea decided to change the cap shape of their aftershave balm from square to round and apart the visual cheaper image they didn’t think at all that this thing cannot open when fingers/palms are wet! Total loss of function…. I fot so frustrated, they lost me from a customer not only for the balm, but as i started trying other brands, also for shaving foam, styling gel, deodorant…. despite i pay more in premium products i found better value for my money. Through your videos i met Leaf and Twig which i will be getting (using your promo code) when my fav colour gets back in stock in Leaf website. Also curious to try their soap and oil. Cheers!
I prefer the longer form content here on UA-cam. Plenty of other places to get shorter video bites. Rockwell 6C is just an awesome razor. That razor along with improving my pre-shave routine and lathering technique have completely eliminated razor burn/ingrowns. Ingrowns used to be a huge problem for me, but I have had zero since switching to this razor 2 months ago. @ohioshaves rockwell 6c
Did you like the shorter content? Yes or No

Enjoying your videos. You got me convinced about both the Henson and the Rockwell. I got the Henson first and tried it for the first time today. It IS nice! Still want a Rockwell too though! 😊
@ohioshaves rockwell 6c
Both are great razors. Henson is perfect for starting out

Cheers!
Thanks for your input. Keep us posted on your shaving with the twig
