    My wife has gone through three of these leaf razors, all because of the torsion spring failing. The company does have good customer service and sent us replacements for free, but they definitely need to fix the fatigue of the spring.

    • @drmatt357
      @drmatt357  2 роки тому +7

      Thank you for this. I haven't heard of this issue but I'm glad they took care of it. The only thing I can think is she may be putting the handle too perpendicular to her skin constantly flexing the head putting extra stress on that spring. That's not an excuse as the spring should be able to handle it but if it broke 3 times, it may help.

    • @AlexanderMason1
      @AlexanderMason1 Рік тому +1

      The only scenario in which that sprain broke on three separate razors is because your wife is over tightening it. I’ve definitely never experienced this from the two razors I own from them nor have I ever heard of anyone experiencing this.

    • @cody3165242
      @cody3165242 Рік тому +6

      @@AlexanderMason1 the tightening screw on the head of the razor looks to be independent of the torsion spring. I'm not sure how applying less torque to the fastener would help the issue.

    Female feedback: I have soft, sensitive skin, not course hair. There's some weight and size to it that takes some getting used to. I am small though. Legs and underarms were all good once I got used to the size. Bikini area not so much. That was a no go. I was thinking of giving the Twig a try for that reason.
    My boyfriend liked shaving (his face only 🤣 ) with the Leaf also and he got a nice close shave out of it.

I have to get a smooth shave VERY early every morning so can’t deal with the faff of my straight razor or safety razor and soaps without having to wake up much earlier. Have ordered myself this along with some Astra blades and some jack black beard lube for a hopefully easy morning shave with no nicks! Many thanks

    I bought the same Limited Edition Honey Leaf a few months ago. It’s a very nice build quality. It shaves just fine. However, it’s very bulky. Kind of hard to get under my nose. I do like the fact that I can use all of my DE blades, but I’ll probably end up selling it. I have over 50 safety razors. As nice as this is, I don’t know how much use it’ll get.

    I finally took the chance and bought one of the Leafs on Amazon after finally deciding to stop buying the plastic ones. I have never used one and my first attempt was a disaster. I keep my head slick and this thing made me bleed like crazy. I am using the leaf blades that were sent with it. I ain't gonna lie.... this thing cuts very close and I don't make tons of passes over the same place like I've been doing with the Gillette razors for years. I just need to figure out how to stop cutting myself. Maybe I can just use better blades? Even though I cut myself, I am considering myself to be at least mostly free of the plastic razors. Great video!!

    • @drmatt357

      Definitely try different blades but understand that you can use less pressure with this as it doesn't have that strip like the plastic ones have so it will rest closer to your skin. Also as I mentioned, try and get the handle as parallel to the skin as possible as it seems to work smother and closer that way.

I have to be doing something wrong. I'm using bottom and middle slot with feather lite DE Blades. If I were to run the razor over my face like you did in your video I would be a bloody mess. I've used an electric razor for the past year maybe my skin just needs to toughen up? I want to love this razor but really i'm just scared of the nicks and have to go really slow. I'm going to make sure the blades are flat maybe their bent out or something. Thanks for the tips on shaving with this razor.

    I think lighter weight razors are better since you can be more precise with them. The only quality of added weight on a razor is you thinking it has a “premium feel” because of the weight. That’s the money brain telling you “more weight = more value.
    I do appreciate the engineering of the mechanism as well as the way it’s constructed and I also appreciate the fact that it’s made of superior materials that lasts a lot longer but I’ve never heard of anyone breaking one of those conventional shaver handles whether they’re plastic or rubber coated metal. Something being heavier doesn’t necessarily equal it being superior in quality “although in this case it is”. And they also really haven’t invented anything new like you claim. All they’ve done is redesign and produce a higher quality version of an already existing product (conventional razors).

    Hi @DrMatt357 ,
    Hi there I just received my leaf razor and have been hesitant about taking the “leafy leap” for a while. I aim to use it predominantly for headshaving.
    My question is about the pivoting head. I know that’s what it’s designed to be like but I am wondering if it is meant to be kind of “flimsy” to in a sense? Like when I pick mine up there is even a faint rattle to the head. It snaps back no problem. I just thought however that perhaps it would be slightly firmer? And certainly no rattle to it?
    Watching your video you move it around quite a lot while you’re talking but it didn’t make a sound at all. That could be the video and background noise but I was wondering if you can confirm that it being a metal razor does mean that there is a bit of a rattle in general?

    • @drmatt357
      @drmatt357  Рік тому +1

      Should not rattle. I just went in my bathroom and jiggled it and no noise. Now I can give it a good snap with my wrist and get the head to move but not rattling noises when moving it around normally is a figure 8 motion. Make sure if you have blades installed that they’re all engaged in the little tabs and the mechanism is folded down properly and the screw is engaged and tightened. If it still rattles, I’d contact the company. Probably take a video of it and send it so they can hear and evaluate it.
      Let me know how it goes!

    I guess you have to be part contortionist to do a maneuver like that. That's a problem area for me and the Classic Shaving 'Occam's Razor' SE (on plate 3 with a Feather Professional Super blade) is about the only razor I have that can smoothly and efficiently shave that area, though it's not perfect elsewhere and the handle is lacking.
