My first water-based pomade was their all purpose before the re-branding thing and I must admit that the pomade is the best thing I have ever used. It applied easily and smoothly, with the hold that can last up to more than 12h, which is more than enough to me. Looking forward to testing the clay pomade soon! By the way, nice vids as always. Wish your channel will grow stronger than ever :D
just placed my order from Slikhaar best price so far out of the European websites! I recommend it if you guys are in Europe. I hope you guys. I am gonna test these out I am trusting you with this one! Great review
you are the best youtuber related to hair products/styling.Period. That being said, your intro music is less professional compare to how you edit and present the video. May be that is something to think about in the future. Good luck!
Nahian Rahman I appreciate the advice. I happen to really enjoy the intro and I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback on it so that’s why I’ve decided to keep it. I understand that not everyone can be happy with each part of the video but we all share the love for styling and hair products and that’s awesome 👍🙏
Is TSG Pure Set still a favorite of you? And is is suitable for testing a bunch of products in a row and rinsing them of with this set each time? And does the Set made your Hair fuller and thicker?
Felix Niemann I don’t have favorites but I still use the pure set yes and idk if it’s designed to make the hair full and thick but it makes it feel great after cleaning it so that’s why I use it.
Modern Man TV does it weight the hair down when using a couple of times in a row? When testing a bunch of products? Cause The Groomed Man Cleansing Set is really drying my hair out , but it is your "Go To" whenn it comes to testing a bunch of products .. so I ask if Pure can compete with this
I sometimes wash two times in the same day with groomed man Co and it never dries my hair out ever, same with the pure set. They both work great I can’t come out and say anyone’s better because at the end of the day they both work very well. They both clean well, and they both have never made my hair dry and I wash every single day and again, sometimes multiple times in a day.
That is tough. I think fifth sample actually has a more visible hold probably but they both result in great styles for me. Fifth samples use of those health ingredients probably would force a higher rating if I was really pressed for it tho.
Firsthand doesn’t have the same healthy ingredients, they are good ingredients but Fifth has some added ingredients that are specialty ingredients for health. And visible hold is hold that is visible to both the eye and the fingers touching it. Fifth has a bit more strength in other words.
Having used FHS clay pomade and texturing clay after finishing the Fifth Sample from Blumaan, I prefer FHS products more on my hair as it feels more natural and holds better over time.
I know it's not a flagship video, but I thought I'd ask here anyways since your videos are always super helpful and honest. Whats the difference between flagships normal products and the "everything edition"? It seems that the everything edition has some added hair health ingredients but there's no mention or reviews that show a comparison in how the product actually acts?
Peter Edie I’m not too familiar with that everything edition one, could that one be the one he released for everything pomade? I’m honestly not too sure. I am however this coming week coming out with another flagship video because he recently released a new product, and made some changes to the matte paste and cream pomade. The changes I’m told by the brewer were( cream pomade ) an easier scoop, heavier hold, and a more “pomade” type styling experience.
@@MMTV awesome! Will be looking forward to your video! So after your video from last week convinced me to get the new gold matte paste that's really a clay pomade I thought I would also pick up flagships cream pomade since I've had my eyes on it for awhile. From what I can gather, there are three different versions of the streamline cream pomade listed on their website. There's the normal version for 19$, the "old recipe" version at a discount 12$, and under the small batch section of their shep there is also an "everything" edition cream pomade that seems to come in a much bigger container (same labelling as the normal and old recipe version though), but its still just 19$.
FineResolve oasis is super dry, check that review and I mention that in detail. It’s very dry and sticky right off the bat. This ones not like that in the least.
Nikos Philippas I don’t choose a daily driver or favorite. I have 300+ jars of product in my home alone and new stuff arriving every week. There’s no possible way to choose a favorite product. If your looking for one to start with on this line I do really enjoy the clay pomade. All 3 are great but if you want just 1 to start with, id say that unless your a post styling person like me then the texture clay.
@@MMTV Fair enough I would be the same if I had so many products to choose from! Yes more of a post styler person myself, will have to give Firsthand a try, always hear good things about them!
Nikos Philippas they are very well put together and like I said in the vid, that’s the thing that sets them apart because other brands are good and great but often times you find one product that either works better or isn’t as good as the others in the line. These guys are among the few brands where everything actually works great. It’s like having an album that you don’t have to hit skip on haha!
I hate emulsifying wax, if you have fine hair I don’t really recommend it for me and a few others I’ve heard it makes your hair feel like you have candle wax in it and doesn’t feel nice
That’s based on the formula, that’s not all products containing e-wax. Also based on what e wax is I don’t understand how it would make the hair feel that way. It’s not a wax in the same sense say beeswax, or soy wax ( candle wax in other words). It’s actually also used because generally it doesn’t leave behind a film or anything.
Modern Man TV I didn’t know that, I’ve used other clays with emulsifying wax and got the same feeling that’s why I stay away from it and thought it had to be the emulsifying wax because that’s what all had in common.
G Al I mean I’m not an all knowing rocket barber so I guess it could be possible but it just sounded odd to me haha e wax doesn’t contain actual wax it’s made other stuff and used to mix oil/water in formulas. I’d be more inclined to say that it’s the product depending on what the issue is. I’ve seen people say somethings wrong with a product, like a clay not giving any texture or something and come to find out their styling on damp hair lol as soon as they styled on dry the texture appeared so it can really be anything.
100% feel you on this. Any product with emulsifying wax makes my hair feel greasy, damp, and waxy not in a good way. Pretty common sentiment on r/pomade too.
That’s nuts! It’s definitely not my experience and I wouldn’t trust that pomade reddit with anything, I’ve seen some of the stupidest crap go on there lol.but it just puzzles me that e wax would have this effect. I mean I agree to an extent that it’s not the best ingredient, which is why we opted not to use it in nevermore, or the new Phantasm coming out soon but for me it was more in regards to endurance than any feeling in the hair. In fact after I read that guys comment I googled e wax again and I found this here: Emulsifying Wax is the most widely used emulsifierin the cosmetic industry due to its ability to perfectly blend creams and lotions that contain oil and water. Emulsifying wax helps to improve the consistency and texture of the final product without leaving a greasy film on the outer skin or hair after use. That’s the only reason why I said it’s odd I’ve never had this happen, but then again I’ve also never had a lot of things happen too, like hair damage from heat, sulfate use or silicones haha 😆
ANOTHER great video I was actually looking at these products last week :) I would’ve ordered the clay pomade if my barber didn’t mess up my trim 😞 he sucks at trimming but is god at doing the sides of my hair smh 🤦🏽♂️
Man that is so frustrating!! I went through the same crap trying barbers here where I live. They could fade like 🔥 but couldn’t cut the top for 💩. That’s why I goto Jenny. Best option I’ve found.
Loved the video! It's a small "I no longer care what you think" to the people who say your videos are too long, boring, etc. I've only tried the original pomade and the control and hold is the best of the few products I tried but the washout is a little tough for me.
Max May haha sure is! I can’t bring myself to change for people that can’t even decide what they want lol. They love the intro, they hate the intro, they want details but they want 30 second videos 😂🤷♂️ I’m just doing what I do and that’s all I’m doing haha! The washout for me was pretty standard, didn’t rinse out but came out with shampoo. I think it’s ideal for pomade users who enjoy second day buildup, which is big for habitual pomade users.
Modern Man TV You do what you want to increase the subs! It's fun enough to see you do what you do. :p The build up thing is what I'm getting too! Just got the Fifth Sample myself and I like the washout, but I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use it. If I style the hair my direction grows, it looks too flat. If I go the other way, I get a ridiculous amount of volume that looks like I have a beehive in my hair. The Firsthand Pomade was the only one that could give me volume when it should have been flat. What a magical product!
HELLO! Thanks so much for checking out this new Brand Showcase! Which Firsthand Product is your favorite? See you in the next one!
Clay pomade my favorite.
Salute and much success!!!
Texturizing Clay. Didn't realize it could be used as a prestyler. Thanks for the revelation Mike.

I love the clay pomade, it's like it's made solely for withstanding hot weather. Keep up the good work Mike!
how would it compare to the oasis clay?
just placed my order from Slikhaar best price so far out of the European websites! I recommend it if you guys are in Europe. I hope you guys. I am gonna test these out I am trusting you with this one! Great review
Love these brand showcases. I have the texture clay from firsthand and it’s one of my favorite products of all time
Can All Purpose Pomade work as pre-styler?
you are the best youtuber related to hair products/styling.Period. That being said, your intro music is less professional compare to how you edit and present the video. May be that is something to think about in the future. Good luck!

What about the endurance mike?? 😥how long the hold lasts!!
First time hearing of this brand for me and they sound great. Always enjoy your reviews Bro ✌🏻
Liking your cut and your dope reviews, can’t wait for my hair to grow out definitely getting the clay.
Can you review the Seb Man The Sculptor please? It's a new product from the Sebastian Professional line.
Is it normal if couple of hair strands fall off when styling ?
Jimmy Son yes. Very normal
Love the Clay Pomade and the Texturizing Clay. They both work great in tandem too! Keep up the awesome content Mike!

Just got clay pomade because it's advertised as the most resilient in their line. How strong is it I will have to find out.
P. Nivesrungsun how is the hold on yours man, and do you have thick hair?
So Mike.. here is in my opinion a hard question: do you rate the all purpose pomade over fifth sample by blumann?
That is tough. I think fifth sample actually has a more visible hold probably but they both result in great styles for me. Fifth samples use of those health ingredients probably would force a higher rating if I was really pressed for it tho.
Impressed of the quick response! For me it looks like that their ingridientslist is very similar?
What do u mean by more visible hold?
Firsthand doesn’t have the same healthy ingredients, they are good ingredients but Fifth has some added ingredients that are specialty ingredients for health. And visible hold is hold that is visible to both the eye and the fingers touching it. Fifth has a bit more strength in other words.

Great Showcase Mike, how would the firsthand clay pomade fair against the oasis clay in terms of application, texture, and hold?
I wouldn’t really say they are comparable. They feel totally different to me in the hair.
@@MMTV if you dont mind me asking, how do they feel in your hair?
