Controversial Opinion: I would LOVE to have a remake or reimagining of 06. Rewrite out the plot holes, have the current cast redo the old casts lines, bring back Dan Green, fix the controls, get rid of the glitches, like we’re talking an Adventure 3 here.

This song speaks true as follows: You're going toe to toe with a malicious mastermind. All of his minions blot out the lava light and can't be easily approached. And worst deterrent yet, he's your very shadow, impossible to even land a hit. How can you possibly hope to stop him by yourself?
Mephelise was a really good villian actually. His plan was pretty decent but it's really Blaze's fault for not asking Silver to reconsider Memphis Tennessee's offer.
Check out Project 06 by ChaosX. It’s a complete remaster and touch-up of the game, all fan made. It’s made by just one dude with a ton of time on his hands, and honestly it looks really good.

Mephiles is a being who has very little in the way of brute strength but makes up for his weakness with his ntellect. He's a master manipulator who knows how to get what he wants. He's a sadist who enjoys watching other suffer for fun. When controlling Shadow's.... shadow.. his lack of mouth or nose makes it appear as though he is nothing more than a puppet. A vessel for a more powerful entity. Something not alive yet still able to walk and talk like a human being. His appearance basically screams "undead terror." A creature with no humanity or remorse who delights in suffering. A creature who, unlike all other villains before him, KILLED Sonic. Mind you, not through some elaborate trap or machine like Eggman. Not through sheer power like Chaos. He killed Sonic while he did not expect it. While his back was turned. He won against Sonic because he was not bound to a sense of honor or any code like the previous villains. He won because he cheated, because he's darkness itself.
I recomend waiting for P-06 to be finished( It's basically a remaster which tries to fix the bugs and improve the game The story will be the same tough but I'm not complaining)

For as much as 06 fucked up, Mephiles 1 is surprisingly one of my favorite 3d Sonic bosses. I like the concept of Mephiles hijacking your shadow and having to be knocked out of it with a Chaos Boost, even if doing so just requires a game of button mash with his minions. Then you're given Omega in phase 2 and just blast the hell out of him. It's not really mind-blowing in any way, it's just fun.

Bringing back Mephiles in Forces Speed Battle was one of the best ideas this year. It seems Sonic Team was confident enough to salvage something from Sonic 2006 despite everything. They must have realized how much this villain is loved by a portion of the fandom. There was a lot of excitement when they announced him. Mephiles isn't underrated after all and that's great.
They've seen this so much, that in addition to bringing it to Sfsb, it looks like it (and infinite too) will return to the franchise soon, I just ask that they don't ruin both

For Shadow vs. Mephiles the Dark: They could've made a Metroid Prime 2: Echoes style (taking place between the dark world and the real world). But it never happened.
I think what's scary about this villain is this guy is the literal mind of Solaris. His will, his thoughts, his personality. It really not only delves into Mephiles as a character but also shows the true nature of the deity and needless to say it's not good. Going by how Mephiles acts it's safe to say Solaris is a cruel and mad god that doesn't hold value in any lives only seeing them at most as a means to an end to rewrite all of existence for his own means. Solaris is outright sadistic, cruel, and uncaring finding joy and mentally manipulating, breaking, and inflicting pain on others. It makes me wonder what the Duke was thinking in worshipping this thing. It's basically evil incarnate.

I think what's scary about this villain is this guy is the literal mind of Solaris. His will, his thoughts, his personality. It really not only delves into Mephiles as a character but also shows the true nature of the deity and needless to say it's not good. Going by how Mephiles acts it's safe to say Solaris is a cruel and mad god that doesn't hold value in any lives only seeing them at most as a means to an end to rewrite all of existence for his own means. Solaris is outright sadistic, cruel, and uncaring finding joy and mentally manipulating, breaking, and inflicting pain on others. It makes me wonder what the Duke was thinking in worshipping this thing. It's basically evil incarnate.
