I’m a fan of how in P-06 the line “The whole city’s on fire!” Was moved further into the stage. It comes off less as Sonic stating the obvious and more just disbelief of the scale of the disaster.

This song always sounds so sad to me when the violins start playing.When I look around the city and listen to that part,it makes me feel like everyone died;no one was able to escape from the beasts that destroyed their city.
Raine_the_Anime_Queen This song is kind sad....but creepy enough. If you think of it.....when you're going through the level.....you feel the lifeless hell and loneliness because this was once a very populated city and you weren't there to save the victims.....
The Generations version feels like the whole city has fallen into chaos and despair and it's too late to save it. This one feels like the city has been absolutely destroyed with nothing that breathes and respires being left alive, but it isn't too late to turn back time and prevent the crisis that is supposed to happen from happening.
Apparently this crisis city is supposed to be soleanna and the new city In that timeline Iblis was free and destroyed the entire city of soleanna the flames were unleashed the whole city fell into despair all of the buildings and roads collapsed it was already to late save the city from destruction as the destruction came the people of soleanna were all killed and the little children were dead too this timeline is a sad story right there soleanna fell into ruins all the people and children were completely dead
It will always amaze me how this song while being separated into fragments for game stages, in the same time a full 7 minutes long track! By this it sounds so incredibly diverse: starts with a violins with tragic and grand motif, proceeds to wild guitar solos and then ends up with trumpets. Not to mention that epic transition from whirlwind to tornado when it goes to full silence. This is a genus ost
This game was amazing to play as a kid who didn't care about bad level design or bugs. I was just happy to be Sonic, running fast, and listening to a 10/10 soundtrack.

Some of you may disagree,but I say Sonic 06 wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. Things is 06 was playable,even with the glitches. You just have to be able to laugh at them...but that's not it. The musical direction in this game was phenomenal! Crisis City is a prime example. It gives the already existing atmosphere more weight,and nails it in tempo. So,that's my opinion on 06.
The beginning has a resemblance to Bowser's Road, but the thing is, Mega Man X2's intro stage also has the exact same 4 notes (gradually getting higher) at the beginning in the same way both Crisis City and Bowser's Road do, which is interesting.
@@evdestroy4121 honestly i love games that are easy to break and fuck around with so i actually might try to just find a used 360 copy somewhere. I'll just play through it with my friend. Did the exact same thing with Shadow the Hedgehog, although that game wasn't broken enough for the brokenness to be fun. We really just had fun with the cutscenes and the character models.

From 5:35 onwards, you hear that constant almost 007-esque background, as it goes up the first two notes, you're like, "if it goes up one more semi-tone, that's the James Bond theme." But it doesn't, unfortunately. Still, I can see why you think that. You could probably play the opening scene from Skyfall, where 007 chases that guy on top of the train, with this music in the background, and it'd fit in pretty well, no? :D
We may never get a soundtrack like this again in the Sonic series, because like half the composers who worked on it don’t work at SEGA anymore… Or at least the Sonic series.
Never say never... Tomoya Ohtani was lead composer for this game and still works on Sonic, he's most likely the lead composer on Frontiers since he's been lead on every mainline 3D Sonic game since 06.
@@talondiwisch5206 considering the soundtracks that followed, i think we are fine, unleashed has an s tier soundtrack and so does colours. gens just makes remixed versions of some of the best songs in the franchise and thats cool, but every game past that... maybe you have a point.
Ohtani made Forces which was disappointing at best. I hope he recovers from that in Frontiers. But I feel the series misses people like Fumie Kumitami, she was responsable for a lot of the best tracks in the franchise.
@@Dycbf Unleashed has a pretty good soundtrack, but it doesn’t sound as “Sonic” to me. Some of it does, but not as much. I still love a lot of tracks from there though. I loved Colors’ soundtrack but I just LOVED the epicness, edge, coolness and catchiness that Sonic 06’s soundtrack had and part of what made it so great was Mariko Nanba, on her own, and collaborating with Tomoya and that’s something that was special that has been lost ever since. I do love Fumie Kumatani too though.

The Generations version feels like the whole city has fallen into chaos and despair and it's too late to save it. This one feels like the city has been absolutely destroyed with nothing that breathes and respires being left alive, but it isn't too late to turn back time and prevent the crisis that is supposed to happen from happening.
Apparently this crisis city is supposed to be soleanna and the new city In that timeline Iblis was free and destroyed the entire city of soleanna the flames were unleashed the whole city fell into despair all of the buildings and roads collapsed it was already to late save the city from destruction as the destruction came the people of soleanna were all killed and the little children were dead too this timeline is a sad story right there soleanna fell into ruins all the people and children were completely dead
It will always amaze me how this song while being separated into fragments for game stages, in the same time a full 7 minutes long track! By this it sounds so incredibly diverse: starts with a violins with tragic and grand motif, proceeds to wild guitar solos and then ends up with trumpets. Not to mention that epic transition from whirlwind to tornado when it goes to full silence. This is a genus ost

Some of you may disagree,but I say Sonic 06 wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. Things is 06 was playable,even with the glitches. You just have to be able to laugh at them...but that's not it. The musical direction in this game was phenomenal! Crisis City is a prime example. It gives the already existing atmosphere more weight,and nails it in tempo. So,that's my opinion on 06.

@@evdestroy4121 honestly i love games that are easy to break and fuck around with so i actually might try to just find a used 360 copy somewhere. I'll just play through it with my friend. Did the exact same thing with Shadow the Hedgehog, although that game wasn't broken enough for the brokenness to be fun. We really just had fun with the cutscenes and the character models.

Yep, I can hear that, my friend. From 5:35 onwards, you hear that constant almost 007-esque background, as it goes up the first two notes, you're like, "if it goes up one more semi-tone, that's the James Bond theme." But it doesn't, unfortunately. Still, I can see why you think that. You could probably play the opening scene from Skyfall, where 007 chases that guy on top of the train, with this music in the background, and it'd fit in pretty well, no? :D

Never say never... Tomoya Ohtani was lead composer for this game and still works on Sonic, he's most likely the lead composer on Frontiers since he's been lead on every mainline 3D Sonic game since 06.

@@talondiwisch5206 considering the soundtracks that followed, i think we are fine, unleashed has an s tier soundtrack and so does colours. gens just makes remixed versions of some of the best songs in the franchise and thats cool, but every game past that... maybe you have a point.
Ohtani made Forces which was disappointing at best. I hope he recovers from that in Frontiers. But I feel the series misses people like Fumie Kumitami, she was responsable for a lot of the best tracks in the franchise.
@@Dycbf Unleashed has a pretty good soundtrack, but it doesn’t sound as “Sonic” to me. Some of it does, but not as much. I still love a lot of tracks from there though. I loved Colors’ soundtrack but I just LOVED the epicness, edge, coolness and catchiness that Sonic 06’s soundtrack had and part of what made it so great was Mariko Nanba, on her own, and collaborating with Tomoya and that’s something that was special that has been lost ever since. I do love Fumie Kumatani too though.
