it's a winter night, you and your best friend are sitting in front of the TV, the wind is blowing outside and it's cold as hell, you are fighting Dark Gaia, you dodge you fly you wait for the perfect moment to attack, the tension can't stop rising, the hype won't let go you went trough all this for that final moment, you can't stop now, you can't let go, you can't allow yourself to lose, all those moments and memories you had playing this game, it doesn't matter what anybody says, inside you know that this game made you feel ways you've never felt before. And you wish you can play it again...
No? I assume that was your experience; I played the game alone and got stuck on Eggmanland for hours and never even got to the final boss. I think it was summer in the middle of the afternoon. I was tired of playing, Eggman could wait. I don’t remember it super well. Game made me feel alright, it was fun sometimes, frustrating others, it was kinda long. I wouldn’t mind playing it again, but I’m not dying to...
Yeah, if it had lyrics it would probably be sonic singing at the endless possibility parts and a scary voice being dark gaia singing at the creature like noises for sonic to give up.
It's a shame that people don't remember Dark Gaia that much compared to some other bosses like the Egg Dragoon. I think it's cause both versions of the fight each excel in their own way. The PS3/360 version is great because while the gameplay isn't that good, it disguises it well with how cinematic it is and that it really has that sense of finality to it, that feeling that this is it, possibly more than any other final boss in the series. The Wii/PS2 version isn't as cinematic but gameplay-wise is designed way better. The Brawl between Dark and Light Gaia and Super Sonic boosting into each of Perfect Dark Gaia's eyes was way more satisfying than the many quick time events of the other fight. If both of these elements were combined into one fight, Dark Gaia would certainly be considered one of the best bosses in the series.
The day stages were better on the Wii/PS2 version. The night stages were more interesting on the Xbox 360/PS3 The first half of Dark Gaia was WAY better on the Wii/PS2 version. The second half (Super Sonic) was more fun on the Xbox 360/PS3 version.

The thing is, in the Xbox/PS3 version, Quick Time and Input Events are used in most of the night stages in general, and high speed is used in the day stages in general( with some QTAs in the form of yellow dash panels). Not to mention that, for the most part, damage was dealt to bosses with QTAs in night stages and boosting in day. The 360/PS3 fight takes the more consistent elements from the earlier bosses and shoves it into a single, final fight. The ninth and final boss fight, combining the more consistant elements of both the four day stage bosses' fast pace and the four night stage bosses' dealing large damage with quick time events into the Dark Gaia fight. It's a culmination of both dark and light against pure darkness, and a battle to retain that balance world-wide. It speaks volumes, once properly analyzed. The Wii/PS2 version was cool and all, and it was certainly paced a lot more fairly, but the Xbox/PS3 version, in my opinion, is more of the fruit of something built up across the entire game, and something that reflects it in it's gameplay.

"The planet's life is on the line, The emeralds have reacted to the pure destruction that will occur, Sonic is the only one left who can stop the pure embodiment of darkness, it's all led up to this, sonic isn't holding back!" " He blasts at light speed underneath the Earth's mantle, Dark Gaia's shields are up, Light Gaia distracts the beast while Sonic finds a way to disarm the shield." "He destroys the source of the shields power and boosts toward Dark Gaia at breakneck speeds, going straight through the middle of it's head and therefore it's brain." "The millenia years old beast has once again been thwarted by the power of light, but leaving Sonic in a weakened state, he can't go on any longer..." "He wakes back at Windmill Isle, the only thing to remember his friend by is his neckbrace." "Good job sonic..."
Just went back to finish sonic unleashed. Tbh so glad I did. As a kid I didn't have the patience to go back and collect all sun and moon medals. But,since I'm 20 now it was not as taxing I had initially thought.
You're not wrong, it really is. Graphics were amazing (even on the Wii version, it was pretty decent for the console), music was spot on, and the plot was probably the most in depth it's ever been for a Sonic game. Too bad we haven't had a Sonic game as of recent that can live up to this game, and it's been 11 years, so almost half of Sonic's whole lifespan. I also really enjoyed the gameplay, more specifically the Werehog stages; I don't understand why it got so much crap. It was different for a Sonic game and very interesting.
This is the best music for giant bosses fight and action battles , also it deserve to be number 1 on top 10 best musics on sonic franchise , not only that , as well when I listen to this EPIC music , it cheers me up , giving me more momentum and higher mood , and keeps me active on every games so mostly I play this Perfect Dark Gaia battle music , EXCELLENT!!!

This a reminder that this is a fight against a Lovecraftian darkness god, in the center of the earth, in super form, with a light god piloting a mech sized golem made out of temples. I have yet to see this be topped, in any other game the series, and I'm waiting for it with open arms.
Though Sonic Rush is the game the I grew up with(and though it took 11 years cause the Egg King kept beating my entire body into a smoothie), the endless possibilities of his potential is fascinating, and soon, I’ll be getting Sonic Rush Adventure, and hopefully begin to play more of the Sonic Games, but if there’s one way I’m starting my Sonic Journey, it’s with the Rush Games…
The first time I played this game, I got to the final QTE of mashing X 50 times against Dark Gaia for the killing blow. 3:05 played and I never felt more determined to win in a video game
So, in some versions of this game, super sonic has a HP bar, instead of losing rings. In my headcannon, the energy inside the chaos emeralds was refined after it was drained, and now it's more focused.
Imagine this: You and your friends, both from the real and animated world, teaming up to face the embodiment of destruction with the power of the Ancients on your side.
I remember it being hard but I clearly remember only dying like 6 times when fighting Perfect Dark Gaia. On the run, I got lucky and I dodged all of the meteors AND grab enough rings to max out the health bar. I managed to disable the shield when Chip had a sliver of health. I started from Eggmanland with 70 lives and I made it to the final cutscene with around 50 lives
On my life, when I’m racing in the Olympics for a event. I swear I’m playing this in my head. Then I’mma play the endless possibility intro for when I win for me and all sonic fans out there 💯
Always remember making it to this part for the first time at 3am after the long struggle with Eggmanland and man this music hit like a ton of bricks. The feeling I got when I finally did manage to beat the game was incredible.
I've seen all these comments about Perfect Dark Gaia being one of the very few things to actually hurt, physically hurt, Super Sonic (just look at the Archie Comics version of the Perfect Dark Gaia/Super Sonic fight - Sonic actually *felt* Dark Gaia's beam attack through his Super form), but everyone forgets Eggman. Seriously - in the very intro of the very same game, he RIPS Sonic out of his Super form. That's impressive. Very impressive. Eggman's researched Sonic and his limits quite a lot, even when forced to work alongside him he's gathered data that might one day help him to defeat his eternally blue speed demon nemesis. If he would've been able to see the fight between Super Sonic and Dark Gaia, I'm very sure he'd adapt a weapon using synthesized power from some other source that could actually hurt Super Sonic. And don't forget - Dark Gaia's a *lesser deity*. Sonic was going up against a literal lesser GOD.
I think perfect dark gaia is the best final boss Except that part where you can go straight into a boulder in the ps3/xbox version I like a remake of this final boss
I don't care what anyone says. This was not only the best Sonic game, but it also had the best final boss in the series, in my opinion. Yes, the game has its flaws, but I love it to pieces. My 2nd favourite game of all time.
Sonic games have always had incredibly epic final boss music, but the "Tomoya Ohtani epic orchestral remixed vocal theme" trilogy of 06, Unleashed, and Colors will always be top tier, IMO.
This song hits me with a nostalgia blast. Not only i played this game when i was younger, but this theme still hits harder than most songs i’ve listened to.
Wow this is so epic, and it is accompanied by a pretty good and challenging boss, I always remembered that I had to destroy the shield quickly or else chip died and had to do it again, those moments of adrenaline make this boss challenging and great, simply Sonic Unleashed was one of the best games of the franchise and one of the most challenging, I really like it

"The millenia years old beast has once again been thwarted by the power of light, but leaving Sonic in a weakened state, he can't go on any longer..." "He wakes back at Windmill Isle, the only thing to remember his friend by is his neckbrace." "Good job sonic..."

Just went back to finish sonic unleashed. Tbh so glad I did. As a kid I didn't have the patience to go back and collect all sun and moon medals. But,since I'm 20 now it was not as taxing I had initially thought.

No matter what Sonic game I play or watch, there's always a song for me to get hooked on!
Best Sonic game. Better then Colors, Lost World, Generations, Forces, etc. (At least in my opinion)
It makes me feel so happy to hear that people love this game just as much as I do :)
@@AquaticManta Yeah, it's such an underrated game

its a final boss its supposed to be hard lmao

@@jayb9310 and I do agree
Dark gaia was a huge difficulty spike but for such a huge adventure and especially with the test of skill that is egg man land, the boss seemed fitting
This a reminder that this is a fight against a Lovecraftian darkness god, in the center of the earth, in super form, with a light god piloting a mech sized golem made out of temples.
I have yet to see this be topped, in any other game the series, and I'm waiting for it with open arms.
A giant monster, with no interesting personality or lore behind it.

My favorite final boss in the sonic series. It just screams epic
Haven't heard this for years but heard it in a TikTok, and it all came flooding back.
Still can not believe that bowling for soup made endless possibilities. My word.
Yeah I love this music. It’s my favorite song in this whole game believe it or not.
So, in some versions of this game, super sonic has a HP bar, instead of losing rings. In my headcannon, the energy inside the chaos emeralds was refined after it was drained, and now it's more focused.
As they say, when the main theme of the game starts playing on the final boss, things get hype.

Imagine this:
You and your friends, both from the real and animated world, teaming up to face the embodiment of destruction with the power of the Ancients on your side.
That'd be cool.
That's literally the Sonic Frontiers final boss. You predicted the future. They even made a race called the Ancients.
Ngl this is a killer song to work out to
I remember it being hard but I clearly remember only dying like 6 times when fighting Perfect Dark Gaia. On the run, I got lucky and I dodged all of the meteors AND grab enough rings to max out the health bar. I managed to disable the shield when Chip had a sliver of health. I started from Eggmanland with 70 lives and I made it to the final cutscene with around 50 lives
I've never played this game, I came here from one of tempt6's videos, but good lord this is a bop.
If you like sonic then you should play it !! It is one of the best sonic games!!!

On my life, when I’m racing in the Olympics for a event. I swear I’m playing this in my head. Then I’mma play the endless possibility intro for when I win for me and all sonic fans out there 💯
The sound effect when Super Sonic hits Dark Gaia's Shields and charges at him with the QTE is so hype and perfect.

Si claro que sí.
I wish I'd played this game 10 years earlier, it's so good
Always remember making it to this part for the first time at 3am after the long struggle with Eggmanland and man this music hit like a ton of bricks. The feeling I got when I finally did manage to beat the game was incredible.
They should’ve used this track in the Sonic movie.
Perhaps they'll use this in later sequels if there's a bigger threat in the Sonic Movieverse.
Omg that would be amazing
Movie sonic doesn't deserve music this epic lol
Nah, that Alvin and the Chipmunk rehash doesn't deserve this song.
Whoever is listening to this….
Don’t give up

If you ask me this is the best final boss theme of all time.
I don't care what anyone says. This was not only the best Sonic game, but it also had the best final boss in the series, in my opinion. Yes, the game has its flaws, but I love it to pieces. My 2nd favourite game of all time.
He's great with actual instruments, but TERRIBLE with synths.
Sonic games have always had incredibly epic final boss music, but the "Tomoya Ohtani epic orchestral remixed vocal theme" trilogy of 06, Unleashed, and Colors will always be top tier, IMO.
Colors Ultimate showed that he sucks ass at using only synths though
Best final boss in a Sonic game.
Si, y lo mejor es que es de los mejores jefes finales de Sonic de todos los tiempos.
The best final boss theme in the entire franchise. There’s a very good reason why I mod it into other Sonic games over their respective final bosses
Oh yeah? Well if you ask me, there's one thing that's for sure about Dark Gaia.
