If SEGA had put their all into this game, I have no doubts Sonic would have been back to being a respectable franchise, if not a contender again among the top video game franchises. When you look at all the damage this game caused due to it being a rushed buggy mess, imagine what it could have done for the franchise had it been the exact opposite. There would be very little or none of this crap of SEGA is pulling today because this game would have catapulted Sonic to a place where the adventure concept would be praised and beloved, not hated and despised. There would be very little outcry among fans for Sonic to be the only playable character because this game would have shown them Sonic's friends can be just as good or even better. When you look at all the classic fanbrats demanding that garbage, THIS is the game they use as their ammunition for why. Imagine if Sonic 06 had been a huge success, SEGA would no incentive to listen to them. It's for that reason why I call Sonic 06 the biggest tragedy of the franchise. This game could have been in a sense the revival the series desperately needed to get back to being a respected franchise, maybe even contending with Mario again. Who knows? We'll sadly never know because of how much harm this game caused Sonic as a whole. SEGA has no one to blame for this debacle but themselves. The potential was certainly there. They just wasted it due to their greed and stubbornness. What makes it worse they have learned NOTHING from it, or should I say, they learned the wrong lessons from it. It's because of this game they think people hate Sonic friends when that isn't completely true. Tbh, Secret Rings wasn’t even that good, so even for sonics 20th anniversary (I think, I don’t quite remember) they could’ve started it a bit earlier and not have split up the dev team to at least make the game look presentable. Only recently with Frontiers has the franchise even started to to redeem itself, but yeah, more time and the game would be much better

You know i think we are lucky dispite that 06 is a rushed game, it has one of the best themes in sonic. Now Imagine a alternate universe where 06 was fully completed, but had not even an memorabel soundtrack as a result. And as we all know music tells a story of somthing too.
Was already thinking to myself that Eternatus and Solaris are somewhat similar conceptually, both are incredibly powerful beings that required massive amounts of energy (eternatus first form with the power spots and wishing stones and mephiles with iblis) to become whole and transform. so needless to say quite a fitting decision.

Finally reaching that point and hearing he music kick in was so satisfying, you thriumphed against all sorts of bugs and bad level-design (Sonic sections, ugh), I personnally had to retry dozens of time some levels but in the end, I made it, I only have to beat Solaris and to win the game ! The game could have been so much better but it's still an underappreciated gem
I liked this game tbh. When I played it, I only encountered about 2 or 3 glitches but I never had encountered a single glitch in Silver's story or the Final Story. I played the Xbox 360 version which slightly does have less glitches than PS3 so I may be a bit bias or whatever but still. I still play it to this day because it is fun. Levels like Kingdom Valley and Crisis City were so inspiring and the music really helps too.
The music is really good, I'd say the level design wasn't too bad but the mach speed sections were pretty bad and annoying as shit to control. The story is weird because Shadow's and Silver's stories were quite amazing but Sonic's was borderline shit and cringe. I didn't mind Elise as a character im ngl its just I didn't like the whole relationship thing with Sonic because it ruins his character. Tails and Knuckles were barely in the story and they appear out of no where in aquatic base. The logic in the story is dumb like in shadow's plot, he should of just brought the sceptor of darkness from the past with him so mephiles doesn't even exist and there was no point of putting ibilis in another dimension if Elise just doesn't die

Bugs most definitely can ruin a game. If bugs get in the way of enjoying the game, you simply can't enjoy it. And no, the game is not well designed either. The hub area is so open and boring, levels are also open and boring as well. Not to mention how they can overstay their welcome and drag on for way too long. The mock speed sections in levels also aren't very great, where Sonic is pretty much dead if he runs into a wall.
Listening to this will never not remind me of the final scene from Nazo Unleashed. I think I was pretty fortunate to grow up knowing about animations like NU and SMBZ
I mean, it isn't the real Solaris. The real Solaris would be a much greater threat, forcing you to harness the power of the *Master Emerald* as a whole, creating Chaos Sonic/Shadow/Silver.
Since the third movie will basically be its own take on Adventure 2's story, I think that its sequel should be an adaptation of 06, an should serve as a redemption film for that game, so it can be retelled better and made justice. 06 is a very flawed game, but under all its rough edges (basically everything aside from the OST and artstyle), there's a game that had a lot of heart, but couldn't be realized in the way it was intended. And also, watching Silver and Blaze and most importantly, Mephiles in a theatrical blockbuster film would be absolutely amazing. Here lies a lot of potential, and I hope they can see it as well and can make it happen sooner or later.

despite the game being bad the music however is good.
The game isn't bad, just rushed, it was designed well, but is broken. Bugs to don't ruin games, bad game design does and this game didn't have that
Bugs most definitely can ruin a game. If bugs get in the way of enjoying the game, you simply can't enjoy it. And no, the game is not well designed either. The hub area is so open and boring, levels are also open and boring as well. Not to mention how they can overstay their welcome and drag on for way too long. The mock speed sections in levels also aren't very great, where Sonic is pretty much dead if he runs into a wall.

Since the third movie will basically be its own take on Adventure 2's story, I think that its sequel should be an adaptation of 06, an should serve as a redemption film for that game, so it can be retelled better and made justice. 06 is a very flawed game, but under all its rough edges (basically everything aside from the OST and artstyle), there's a game that had a lot of heart, but couldn't be realized in the way it was intended. And also, watching Silver and Blaze and most importantly, Mephiles in a theatrical blockbuster film would be absolutely amazing. Here lies a lot of potential, and I hope they can see it as well and can make it happen sooner or later.
