Hm, more like +4 melee. That would imply that the jacket is better than a tunnel snakes one lol Although that could explain the killer round-house kicks...
Leon was supposedly sent to investigate, snoop around and report back. Granted, he would have been incredibly conspicuous under normal circumstances running around rural Spain. Either way, those cops were supposed to help him. Perhaps any gear not on his person was in the jeep when it went off that cliff and Leon had to carry on with his sidearm.
The main sin I give this game is that the Merchant never learns Leon's name. He is basically his only coustomer. Why does he keep calling him Stranger?
I honestly have more problem with those regenerators than most of the boss...mainly from how creepy it is. If we had to fight all of the regenerators in the game at once i am gonna have to call my inner dark soul player
@@nolanc9432 There's one cutscene in the Castle that already confirms Salazar's age. *Salazar:* _"What a pleasant surprise, but I'm afraid it's Ashley we need. Not you, Mr. Kennedy..."_ *Leon:* _"If you don't need me, then get off my back, OLD MAN."_ *Salazar:* _"Oh? Did you say ‘old man’, Mr. Kennedy? It might come as a surprise, but I'm only 20 years old."_
@xFuxk _ this game's story is easy to nitpick. it clearly doesn't take itself seriously and doesn't care about logic if it gets in the way of making the gameplay as fun as possible
The ganados do talk, a lot but yeah. You must speak Spanish to understand them lol. Why these sins videos are so shitty I only watch them so see how many stuff does this guy exaggerate or make up on the go.
*Ashley gets kidnapped as a part of the story* *Leon* : Gotta rescue her *Ashley gets kidnapped due to player's fault* *Leon* : might as well just kill myself.
Personally? I prefer the segments of which I'm alone in the game, it adds to the fear factor and besides I don't like escort missions and Ashley is one of the most useless companions in video game history.
And remember that Saddler said they WANT her to go back to the US. So why spend all that time trying to stop Leon, when they should've just left a boat for them to use and then waved goodbye.
1. Actually there was something keeping them from injecting Sera again. One of the memos from the Chief says that they would have to wait for some drug Sera took to wear off before they could plant another egg in him. I'm guessing Sera was medicating himself against possibly being parasitized again. 2. Krauser's Plaga was a Dominant species type. Those can't be controlled like the low level Ganado. Salazar and Mendez also had dominant types, but they were actually loyal to Saddler.
Punching boulders because m'erica fucks yeah! The japanese really humiliates american culture with their stereotypes lol this entire series is one big joke (which is not bad, for the contrary)
I think the QTEs in RE4 were fine and served their purpose of having you always pay attention without being too annoying. You have to be prepared for anything, even during cutscenes. Leon is never safe from getting killed by zombies pushing a boulder or something, shit is hilarious and I love how the game doesnt care about being over the top insanity.
Would anyone think how hard it is to scrip and do research for these long ass videos? Everybody expects him to be an absolute expert on every video game he analyzes.
Sin 25: Actually sera is a researcher, despite not wearing a lab coat, and there are Luis' memos scattered throught the game that can attest to this, he says it when he is dying too.
LordGabbe yep. Probably been in the village for 100 years. The castle however, those enemies look medieval. Gotta have been in the castle for 500 years plus. Island looks the most modern with Enemies. But when I looked up some of the old lore from RE4 the parasite had apparently been underneath the castle for hundreds of years and been resurrected for power. It’s actually a really deep story man. That was a really good evaluation of the use of PTAS in Spain considering they haven’t in over a hundred years and the villagers look like they’re from the 1800s. Such a strange and interesting game.
The Explorer oh yeah for sure. Especially when you consider that starting from a new game on professional you really have the odds stacked against you unless you take the time to loot every single room for ammo and heals early on.
At the end of credit movie. U will see that villagers were simple people and thy decided to kept things like this without technology so thy can live happy
I mean..... If there was a plagas infested village there for that long, you think Spain would have known about it and therefore warned Leon. I'm sure they would have also sent someone there to talk to them about the currency change. Trade? Farming land? People would have noticed that this village suddenly stopped that stuff. Also, fk these ganados keep their treasures and currency clean. I like coins a fair amount and I'm sure that those PTAS come from unopened bags straight from the mintage sight xD
6:30 There is one sin in this video: "Leon excels at nothing but roundhouse kicking and shooting". Leon also excels at running, jumping, climbing, knife fighting and at dodging lasers.
I made a petition if we get enough people we can get there attention and get the RE4 Remake everone Deserves! www.change.org/p/capcom-remake-resident-evil-4-1d2a4159-f012-4f0e-8f2b-5edef4bbe7a3?recruiter=316195711&
Take one sin off, Ganados do hold conversations! You can overhear them talking about how much they like the plaga when you're in the house with Bitorez Mendes.
also the church thing, the ganados say "es hora de rezar" (it's time to pray) when they leave through the door locked after hearing the bell and you can clearly see the church on the background. Leon sees that and then Luis tell him Ashley is in a church... how much clear can it be?
that takes the sin away that he doesn't speak spanish considering his sorry to bother you" to the "what the hell are you doing here?", he clearly understood what he said
Eriml RGG Obviously shows that our guy hasnt invested enough time to really feel the game and understand it. Didnt even bother to go through with Ada's campaign
They DO hold conversations. Did you even play the game? During the village fight the ganados commands the others to bring the ladder. And they actually have conversations if you listen in. Espically in the village
Actually, they're talking in one of the scenes, for example. "Oí que hay un extrangero entre nosotros" "Nuestro jefe se encargará de la rata, su plaga es mucho mejor que la nuestra" That's what I understood even when I'm from latin America, 'cause their Spanish isn't so good
Merchant: "I couldn't sell Leon ammo because the Ganados bought out my whole stock a couple days earlier. Why do you think he found shotgun shells and rifle rounds all over the place? No idea why none of them bothered coming back to buy a gun."
silverblade357 Merchant: Would you like to buy some ammo? Ganado: Sure! *At ganados house* Ganado: I'll just leave this ammo here for later *Leon at ganados house* Hey look free (*insert type of bullet here*)!
One of the many things I love about this game is how it rewards you for going off the track. RE4 is a linear game but there are still opportunities to go in other directions and try new things. Often there would a special treasure waiting for you, or a cutscene, or maybe something shocking. I mean off the top of my head, just from the first section of the game - looking down the cliff to see the remains of the police car, taking the shotgun and meeting Dr. Salvador, going back into the Chief's room and seeing the first appearance of Ada, shooting at the water and getting eaten by Del Lago, going back to the shore at night after fighting Del Lago and dogs coming out of the darkness...there's many others as well. Capcom paid so much attention to every detail and this was just one such example. They knew players would try to go off the track and instead of restricting it, they embraced it.
And this is brilliant for farming more loot when you play the game way too many times, and just end up with far more powerful weapons than you're supposed to have. I can't ever imagine not getting every single treasure in the game now, my route depends on it.
Yeah, it was clearly more of a statement then that of a question. It wasn't like: "They kidnapped the wrong girl?" - "They just kidnapped the wrong girl."
Getting knocked out of the boat is was always fun. What else was fun, right before the battle going out on the dock to shoot some fish. That must be the quickest death in the game.
That's what I initially thought, too...but then after thinking it over, it makes more sense that they doubled back to Spain's mainland somewhere before the village and then either caught a plane back to America or returned via a private helicopter ride.
They wouldn’t go to America straight after. The island was on the east coast to would either go to the mainland or France. If they would have went to America, the6 would have had to pass through Gibraltar where Leon probably would have got off and contacted the authorities or the CIA or FBI about he has secured Ashley and will be returning where they will be transported to either London or to Washington where she will be reunited with the President or if in London they will send a private jet over to transport her to America...
4:26 actually ganados can hold conversation. If you play Ada's seperate ways and exactly the cutscene of leon and Mendes, there were two ganados talking to each other, hell they were even laughing like normal people. Don't you remember?!
WhaleArts I do they arnt zombies they still have thought and thinking why they can open doors and use weapons they just insane killers at this point still human tho
Not to mention, Leon understood what the guy was saying. He can read the notes and diaries he comes across (which were all presumably written in Spanish), he just tried English (just to check if the guy spoke English), then walked away when the guy insulted him
@@narutardkyuubi japanese lazy localication, not bad for RE4 But in game like Dynasty warrior It getting worse from game to game I hope this RE company doesn't get greedy and start get cheap localication
One thing I gotta admit to liking in this game is that it adjusts its difficulty based on how well you are doing, and you won't even notice the game doing it. Those that are playing well, keep getting challenged, and those that are doing horrible, get an invisible helping hand. It keeps you from outright rage quitting the game. I don't know if RE5/RE6 use the same kind of system or not. "What's that? You are just, breezing through the game? Quietly ups the difficulty by having a few more enemies, and most likely removes a resource or two in a few spots." and "What's this? You died a few times in this one section? Let's just remove an enemy or two, and add some extra ammo/health in some spots." Details more are in this video: ua-cam.com/video/zFv6KAdQ5SE/v-deo.html - What Capcom Didn't Tell You About Resident Evil 4 | Game Maker's Toolkit
He doesn't actually *speak* Spanish. He does, however, understand it. Not sure why the game doesn't allow him to use any [translated] Spanish dialogue, though.
To people who don't speak Spanish and have no idea what the guy said, though, it doesn't sound like Leon is actually responding to it with a legitimate reply and instead sounds like he's being sarcastic, especially with the tone he uses. It makes it seem like Leon also has no idea what was said, and responds how he does because simply because the guy sounds angry/upset.
4:02 actually in the note titled “Sera and the 3rd party” found in the farm in chapter 2:2 we find out there IS a reason why they don’t inject Sera with an egg here. There were drugs in his system (presumably given to him by Ada) that neutralize plaga eggs before they hatch. These drugs we find out hadn’t completely worn off in his system yet (it is assumed) so Chief Mendez wanted to wait until the effects of the drug had worn off before injecting him with another egg. If you’re going to sin a perfect game, you best get the details right. C’mon now.
He also said "Ganados don't really hold conversations." But they do. We see them hold a conversation in Mendez' house, talking about how Mendez has a stronger Plaga and will kill Leon.
@@TomAlan-v7oonestly, if he wasn't ignorant about most of the story and used logic to make his sins, you have about 3/4 of the sins removes, also adding the sins he put for joking on the game. Dartigan is know for being mostly objective about his sins so him throwing jokes and sinning the game is rare but I guess if he didn't do he wouldn't have had a gaming sins video for this game which shows how great it was for its time. (Also I like how the remake fixed almost every sin he was right about)
Does she really behave or look like it though? Speaking as someone with no knowledge of her actual age, she seems more like a teenager to me. The number they decided on for her age was probably for the sake of that final joke not being extremely off-putting, but cmon, the japanese are notorious perverts lmao. She's definitely written the way a teenager would be written.
@@TATERplaysGAMES Actually she acts like a typical 20-something girl from a high-status background, or any background really. And your opinion about her maturity level doesn't actually change the fact that she is so many years old. "Underage" is defined by actual age, not maturity level. So get over it.
You always say riding off into the sunset cliche for RE games, but it's actually the opposite they always ride off into the sunrise. The creators do this on purpose specifically because of that cliche
ULTIMA Nope, RE Zero is the only RE game that did not end in a sunrise or a sunset. It was just morning by the time they started fighting against the Queen Leech :P
4:23 Ganados can hold conversations. Remember the scene in the house before Leon meets Bitores Mendez the second time, where he grabbed him by the neck
To play devils advocate...you HAVE to re-enter the room you just left to trigger that. You can just leave the house right away, and never have that conversation/cutscene happen.
@@coolguyhino92 i think he meant the 1st cutscene where leon was eavesdropping on ganados conversing in the dining room downstairs, not the 2nd one with ada saving Leon. He said 2nd time because Leon already met Mendez when he tried to kick him after freeing Sera from the closet
@@retrogeneric5687 OOhh. OK. Now i get it. Wooshed on the Mendez meeting him with Sera moment. Totally thought he meant the 2nd time with Mendez in the house upstairs.
The two ganados conversing might actually have been Saddler and Salazar judging from their voices. Not to say that ganados don't have conversations, you hear them speak in sentences all the time.
Also he forgot to mention in the gun shooting game the merchant puts you through, leon shakes non-stop even though hes a trained professional and thier just targets nothing scary.
Leon was able to figure out that there was a secret passageway in the church because he seen the remaining villagers from the first fight run inside, after hearing the church bell. He realised after hearing the church bell, that everyone immediately stopped attacking, looked at the church and then started walking towards it while chanting “lord saddler”. Leon’s joke about them going to bingo was an indication that everyone going to the same building must have some significance.
Sin: the ganados do hold regular conversation. You see some of this when Leon first encounters the Big Cheese. When he walks into the hall way you can hear 2 ganados talking. Also you can see them planning when Leon encounters the first giant.
There’s actually a good reason Ashley only recently got the egg. There was a short time between her kidnapping and Leon being sent to rescue her. The egg was implanted AFTER she arrived in the village. She was kidnapped in the States, but still had to be smuggled back to not-Spain, which takes time. Even then, they could only send Leon specifically because they were undergoing an investigation to see who was safe; Ashley was kidnapped by Krauser after all. Hell, Krauser probably told Mendez, Salazar, and Saddler everything about Leon (doesn’t conflict with his orders from Wesker after all).
Lyn R. Why do you watch a video that’s intended to pick a part a game and make fun of all the stupid shit they did then try to comment something “smart” like you got big brains?
2:41 I think you've forgotten that it's specifically mentioned that the Ganados tend to favor older, more traditional things, and one of those very well could be currency. If you look at their technology, or, lack thereof, it's clear that they could easily stick to PTAS.
This would make sense, but wouldn't justify it given: 1 - The game never properly explains the reason why, are they isolated from civilization? Is it a cult/religious thing? There's a lot of stuff not explained. 2 - They use contemporary stuff like Gatling Guns and Rocket Launchers so it makes no sense.
@@caiolucas8257 nope. Rpgs, gatling guns and other military equipments get used only by the mercenaries of Saddler on the island. The villagers and the fanatics don't use them, they use axes, morningstars, wood shields... Except the gatling gun in the castle, we don't know why it is there.
@@charles-williamamany6322 I can think of at least two zealots that use rocket launchers. There may be a third one. There's also the fact that there's two trucks in the village itself. Granted, the trucks do look like they're from the 30's, but the point remains.
@@caiolucas8257 in Separate Ways, Wesker mentions to Ada that the ganados are "programmed" (or more like ordered by Saddler) to attack any and all foreigners on sight, that's why they are isolated from civilization. Of course, it still wouldn't explain how the rest of Spain and the government would have never found them eventually after a few cases of missing persons, but the resident evil series were never really known for the depth of their stories lol
The ganados do hold conversations. The house where chief first appears, you can hear 2 villagers' muffled voices talking that there's a rumor that an outsider is in the village
And still it is! There are still peope making videos of this game, all kind of them. Besides the story is, yes, a terrible script. The gameplay is so perfect!
Fred Duwe of course the gameplay would be improved, re4 walked so those games could, run years later. I would hope the gameplay was improved. And I wouldn’t say bad writing. I understand they deliver a lot of cheesy lines but the game takes place in 2004 and they were wanting Leon to be a somewhat cheesy action hero with bad ass one liners. I personally loved it but I can understand how by now that cliche is just over done. Besides that I thought the writing was pretty good and the character development is actually pretty good for an re game. And the level design is top notch. I think that’s where the game really shines is level design and being an innovator at what it did. I can’t in good consciousness compare games that are years a part since technology for games really changed within that time frame. It’s not like today where a game from a couple years ago can still look like modern graphics.
Leon did know there's a jet ski because Ada gave him "very cute" key and it doesn't take a genius to realize to leave an island you need a water vehicle.
I'm at least somewhat sure Leon does know Spanish for 2 reasons.. 1.When he sets the village chief on fire, he says "hasta luego" and 2. All of the documents lying around that he finds are likely written in Spanish, yet Leon has no trouble reading them
'hasta luego' is a very common expression such that people who don't speak Spanish know what it means, at least in the US. But your second point is very compelling - it makes more sense that Leon can read Spanish than the idea that they'd leave a bunch of notes lying around written in English.
Perfection does not belong to anything or anyone, not even god himself (admitting the fucker actually exists in the first place). Anyway, RE4 is as far from perfection as Asa Akira from a sexless life. Don't get me wrong, I like RE4 (i actually find it to be a masterpiece) and I'm acqually quite fond of the action/tps turn that RE series took with RE4, but there are a lot of flaws with this game. Dartigan is a nitpick fucker, but that's a subject for another discussion
2:56 Leon definitly understands spanish, hence why his response to the ganado makes sense and I think the rest of the ganados also made the same assumption you did also hence why they left so many notes lying around thinking he wouldn't understand the language.
Story wise everything is wrong with it. No one likes Re4 for the story. It's probably the worse out of a series known for having one of the most laughably bad stories on video gaming. The gameplay on the other hand is top notch, even though it it turned the series into action schlock.
Lukasz Zylik Re6 has the worst story Leon: I'm going to avenge the president. Chris: I'm going to get revenge on Ada Wong. Jake: I'm going to get 50 million dollars for 1 pint of my blood. Ada: I do whatever I want.
@@leogomxz it was 2005 lol... and obviously you are 12 and probably played about 6 games till now LMAOOO. it's good, but it's far away from perfect and again: it's one of the bottom RE titles. and there were a few better games that year buddy
The sin where Leon doesn't speak spanish is actually interesting. He doesn't speak it, but responded in the correct way as he understood what the man said. As the villager basically said, "Why are you in my house/ Why are you here?" and, "Get the hell out!"
That's the point. Since peseta is no longer valuable anywhere outside from this place, it means that no matter how much Leon brings back with him, he's still got nothing :D (unless his pockets are full of golden treasures fit with jewels, of course)
Not gonna lie, I'm triggered by more than half of the sins you gave this game. There were way too many sins that have explanations for why the game did what it did.
Ya, Idk what they were thinking. It's like the re5 one too, where he immeditately sins the game for having Jill be mind controlled, but you wouldnt know that going into the game blind for the first time.
^yes, oddly enough. the original DMC was supposed to be a resident evil game, but it strayed far off the vision of the developers within capcom, that it ended up becoming its own thing, thus they renamed it to devil may cry and kept on with making re4 as we know it now.
syson551 It's true. Look it up. Also, it wouldn't be too far fetched to suppose that they tried creating a hypothetical RE4, ended up being DMC, let that out, and then start off again by scratches until the true RE4 was fully developed. Date of release =/= time spent in development, dude.
lol well da.he said dmc was suposed to be re4 but just relesed it with an other then they made the re4 we know today.so yeah dmc came out first ,and why the idiot part ?
Fede 64 what no. There are beta versions of re4 out there on the Internet to watch and it still looks nothing like dmc. Dmc still came way before re4 did despite delvopment times etc
He said Leon gets a sixth sense before fighting the chief well yeah bc there was literally a note from him saying he was gonna attack him at that location😂
So, I do gotta say, alot of this is true but alot of also isn't and you got alot of stuff wrong and it makes the sins meaningless. Sin 5 and 9: if you read the note you have at the beginning, you'd see only a hand full of people actually know about the kidnapping. They're trying to keep it under wraps. That's why there's not alot of people looking. They sent their best man Sin 13: Leon was saying that the kidnappers are gonna be in some shit when he finds them Sin 14: crows carry shiny things around to impress mates Sin 15: the game takes place in 2004, not 2005. The pesetas thing is true though Sin 20: the entire area outside of the house is guarded by ganados with dynamite. Plus the house is covered in locks and traps Sin 22: they didn't know he removed the plaga yet. They don't learn that until way later Sin 25: ganados behave exactly like normal people (albeit with some hygiene issues) except when they're ordered to attack Sin 33: you find out later saddler wants to keep him as a bodyguard so he won't kill him. And he already escaped once yes, but he'd just escape again Sin 34: Mendez has a master plaga. It's much different than a normal one. Somebody infected with a master plaga isn't controlled, they're free willed. They just get the power from it, and it's way more powerful Sin 41: it's a salamander, not a fish Sin 45: he slashing towards his shin, not his kneecap lol Sin 54: people infected with the plaga have the ability to regenerate extremely fast and have high pain tolerance. Getting shot, just like Leon, would merely slow her down a bit. Sin 60: he knows what's about to happen because there is a note literally 7 mins before the boss fight telling you it's about to happen at that barn Sin 66: if you wanna be nitpicky, you said yourself that here in rural Spain, it's like olden times. So yeah, he does gotta dress like that Sin 68: they've been spying on him longer then you'd think. In the first note you find, you see he's been being stalked for awhile now. So they could have figured out his name way before the events of the game Sin 83: he still wants him as a body guard. If he dies, then he dies, but he doesn't necessarily care whether he turns or not, so he's not gonna be the one to kill him Sin 84: the sample is a master plaga. Which is WAY rarer than a normal one. Sin 102: it's sort of part of his plan to let them go and have them infect America. Leon can either be his guard or help infect America. Sin 105: ik the statue is super easy to sin, but the rest of the game isn't very easy to sin. The main reason that there are so many is from nitpicking things and turning them into sins which don't make sense, opinions, or just things you're wrong about 116: again, he wants him as a body guard 118: the backstory for Leon and krauser isn't a CG movie. It's another game. (Also the movies aren't that bad. I had fun watching all 3 of them) Sin 123: the movie came out 2 years before this and was a hit. And they copied the most memorable scene. Sin 129: krauser had a master plaga. He couldn't control him Sin 139: he most likely would have already died if it wasn't for her helping Sin 146: Ashely isn't underage, she's 20
I couldn't agree more. Also, the Pesetas could be a way to represent how isolated to the rest of the world the cult has gotten. I nodded in disapproval so many times while watching this. For example, if the President's daughter was kidnapped, they wouldn't alert everyone about it to not generate panic (like most of Americans like to feel "powerful", so that would cause a feel of them not being safe enough), so they sent someone experienced with trouble + training. Leon isn't just "a guy with a handgun", like I said, he survived Raccoon City, got trained by the government and he was yet again in another situation revolving viruses and mutations before the events of RE4, though at the time the game was written nothing of this was actually out there. And once last thing, Only Claire A and Leon B endings on RE2 are canon, so the whole thing he said about Ada regarding that was, again, not true.
I like Salazar's second balcony appearance. The shadow he casts over Leon is some pretty good, and pun-worthy, foreshadowing of the statue later. You can also see through Krauser's chest during the cutscene after the QTE fight.
There was actually something stopping sadler from infecting Sera again, after they caught him again. Sera was infected before and he’d antidoted himself against the (gift), they needed to wait to infect him again because he was still under the protective effect of the antidote whereas infecting him wouldn’t have worked.
But, why is the game showing up the game's name like 3 times? -1st in the ending of the narration. -2nd when the cop finishes pissing. -3rd when Leon says *' ' Where is everyone going, bingo?' '*
Just imagine if both Salazar's Verdugos jumped down from that balcony during their debut scene to battle Leon, no tanks around to freeze and slow their movement down, Ashley standing right next to you thus introducing a huge vulnerability, and your weapons ideally not being as powerful as they would be during the typical Verdugo boss battle... The game would be over at that moment. And now that you mention it, the whole concept of them letting Luis run off to find the medicine he dropped doesn't make sense because what the point in even exploring the castle further?
Couple of sins off: -RE 2 canon is Claire A/Leon B. So no rehash of Ada trying to kill Leon or she surviving hundred of feet fall (although we could argue that the canon wasn´t decided until Umbrella Chronicles/RE 6 so maybe it was the intention when writing RE 4) -Leon and Krauser met in Darkside Chronicles "Operation Javier" scenario, what CGI film are you talking about?
I know this is like 2 years old of a comment but I gotta say it. The guy at 2:55 was NOT a ganado yet. He was human. You literally just walked into his home without permission. He attacked you because you DIDN'T leave. Listen to what he say's in spanish. He ask's him why are you here and then to get OUT. Leon didn't so he attacked him. Leon even says he was only human if you examine the body after you leave. Ganado's attack instantly. They have no self-control. That means the guy was just defending his home and Leon just killed a man after trespassing on private property and in the guys' home XD
As spanish guy it always bothered me how they decided to use mexican people to dub the suppossedly spanish people living in a lost village in the north of spain. It's like they use a heavy irish accent to depict someone from a rural part of texas
according to albert's satelite tracking ada, the village is somewhere in the state of leon (ha, i bet this was intentional). so to reach the nearest coast, he traveled all the way from there to cataluñia. thats a lot of ground to cover.
Other thing, even when is in Spain, the enemies speak with Mexican Spanish accent and words instead of Spanish accent. Is like, we play on UK but all enemies talk like in Texas with 50% more difference.
No, it was spanish from spain. They use the word "cogelo" which means "grab [him]". In mexican spanish "cojelo"(not sure which way is correct spelling ) mean "rape [him]"
@@deemac3470 No, "cógelo" means "fuck him", but in Argentina. Also, I'm Spanish and I can assure you this doesn't sound like Spanish from Spain at all. They even use the word "Ándale", which is 100% Mexican.
Another gaming sin in this game is the enemies' accent. The story is set in Spain, but the local enemies have a South-American or even Mexican accent. The Castillian dialect is very different, like if you made a game set in California, but everyone has a Scottish accent. Some of the words they say are even bad-spelled (it's 'aplastar', not 'asplastar'). P.S.: A Spaniard would NEVER say ''ándale'' in ordinary circumstances like Mexicans do.
This game's people sound more like native English speakers with decent Spanish knowledge trying to look like native Spanish speakers with decent English knowledge. This is perhaps the reason you can make out a lot of different accents in the ganados. Also many parts of Spain uses "ándale", and many pueblos in Spain have a very latinamerican-like accent, or even their own completely different and unique accent, some parts of Spain even have their own language. Some Spaniards are indistinguishable from latinamericans, even to Spanish speakers (people from Canary islands, Andalucía, etc).
We have the supervillain team of Dracula, Napoleon, Rambo, Bin Laden, and the Alien-Predator hybrid involved in a scheme to kidnap the President's daughter and infest her with telepathic parasites that make your head explode when you are shot in the big toe. They are opposed by Leon "Solid Snake" Kennedy, who has codec support from Ingrid "I'm not Meryl!" Hunnigan and a Spanish guy who gets impaled by Dracula's *[redacted]* approximately midway through the game. Dracula's plan is to infect the chimpanzee-human hybrid that is the President's daughter with the parasites so that they can send her home to infest the President himself. They successfully infest her. One would think they would then simply let Leon save her, simplifying the process and making her reappearance less suspicious. But no. Dracula's minions apparently think the best way to deal with Ashley and Leon is to kill them. Despite the fact that this completely invalidates Dracula's plan. Some of Dracula's minions are cave trolls that he has imported from Middle-Earth...they must be the ones doing the planning that doesn't come directly from Dracula. So anyhow, Leon goes to a village, which is pretty fun. Then he goes to a castle, which gets kinda boring. Finally he goes to an island, which sucks. Also, Dracula turns into a giant spider and then dies.
the story in this game is retarded, but yeah, that's the biggest plot hole. he should have just let leon take ashley, not tell them about infecting her, perfect plan goes off.
Recently replayed 4 before the remake comes out and finally realised something after all these years: The first Ganado's house has no bedroom (or bathroom/toilet, for that matter!), the stairs just lead to a table and the window to jump out of!
Crazy thing is, according to Ashley's birth date (1984) and the year of her kidnapping (2004), that would put her at 19-20. So she's not underage at all. But, I can't blame anyone for thinking elsewise, I mean she acts SO much like a bratty 14-year-old. So that scene at the end initially got my jailbait alarms going off, too.
When they lock up Leon, The only thing they took was his bomber jacket..

Clearly the zombies weren't cutting it and they were hoping frostbite would kill him.
Hm, more like +4 melee. That would imply that the jacket is better than a tunnel snakes one lol
Although that could explain the killer round-house kicks...
I would say +10 speech since leon is able to put the moves on hunnigan so quickly.

He also has guile..

Hello again
And this is brilliant for farming more loot when you play the game way too many times, and just end up with far more powerful weapons than you're supposed to have.
I can't ever imagine not getting every single treasure in the game now, my route depends on it.

Tank controls in a 3rd person, fixed camera game? This should be about 30 sins just on its own.
Not applicable to 4, of course.

Ethan Johnson Dude that’s just his opinion leave him
Leon did know there's a jet ski because Ada gave him "very cute" key and it doesn't take a genius to realize to leave an island you need a water vehicle.
I'm at least somewhat sure Leon does know Spanish for 2 reasons..
1.When he sets the village chief on fire, he says "hasta luego" and
2. All of the documents lying around that he finds are likely written in Spanish, yet Leon has no trouble reading them
Or the documents are written in English, which make no sense
carpmmtal
Then it makes sense that Leon can read spanish.
'hasta luego' is a very common expression such that people who don't speak Spanish know what it means, at least in the US. But your second point is very compelling - it makes more sense that Leon can read Spanish than the idea that they'd leave a bunch of notes lying around written in English.
17:35 None of the CG movies are about Krauser. His and Leon's past were explained in The Darkside Chronicles.
by "CG Movie" he was referring to the cutscene, not any of the movies, at least i believe so.
It's the same Re 5 was released before. When you encounter Krauser here, you don't know who the hell is
Things wrong with Resident Evil 4:
nothing, it's perfect
Exept it 's fckin spin off called Resident Evil Parasites.
VeryVindictiveCrow exactly my thoughts
Perfect? With such controls
HELL YEAH
2:56 Leon definitly understands spanish, hence why his response to the ganado makes sense and I think the rest of the ganados also made the same assumption you did also hence why they left so many notes lying around thinking he wouldn't understand the language.

Story wise everything is wrong with it. No one likes Re4 for the story. It's probably the worse out of a series known for having one of the most laughably bad stories on video gaming. The gameplay on the other hand is top notch, even though it it turned the series into action schlock.

It's a joke. He even called Leon one as well.
The sin where Leon doesn't speak spanish is actually interesting. He doesn't speak it, but responded in the correct way as he understood what the man said. As the villager basically said, "Why are you in my house/ Why are you here?" and, "Get the hell out!"
Leon even said "sorry to bother" , and was about to leave .
That's the point. Since peseta is no longer valuable anywhere outside from this place, it means that no matter how much Leon brings back with him, he's still got nothing :D (unless his pockets are full of golden treasures fit with jewels, of course)

^yes, oddly enough. the original DMC was supposed to be a resident evil game, but it strayed far off the vision of the developers within capcom, that it ended up becoming its own thing, thus they renamed it to devil may cry and kept on with making re4 as we know it now.
No since devil may cry came out way before resident evil 4 idiot
syson551 It's true.
He hasnt played the game properly
So, I do gotta say, alot of this is true but alot of also isn't and you got alot of stuff wrong and it makes the sins meaningless.
Sin 5 and 9: if you read the note you have at the beginning, you'd see only a hand full of people actually know about the kidnapping. They're trying to keep it under wraps. That's why there's not alot of people looking. They sent their best man
Sin 13: Leon was saying that the kidnappers are gonna be in some shit when he finds them
Sin 14: crows carry shiny things around to impress mates
Sin 15: the game takes place in 2004, not 2005. The pesetas thing is true though
Sin 20: the entire area outside of the house is guarded by ganados with dynamite. Plus the house is covered in locks and traps
Sin 22: they didn't know he removed the plaga yet. They don't learn that until way later
Sin 25: ganados behave exactly like normal people (albeit with some hygiene issues) except when they're ordered to attack
Sin 33: you find out later saddler wants to keep him as a bodyguard so he won't kill him. And he already escaped once yes, but he'd just escape again
Sin 34: Mendez has a master plaga. It's much different than a normal one. Somebody infected with a master plaga isn't controlled, they're free willed. They just get the power from it, and it's way more powerful
Sin 41: it's a salamander, not a fish
Sin 45: he slashing towards his shin, not his kneecap lol
Sin 54: people infected with the plaga have the ability to regenerate extremely fast and have high pain tolerance. Getting shot, just like Leon, would merely slow her down a bit.
Sin 60: he knows what's about to happen because there is a note literally 7 mins before the boss fight telling you it's about to happen at that barn
Sin 66: if you wanna be nitpicky, you said yourself that here in rural Spain, it's like olden times. So yeah, he does gotta dress like that
Sin 68: they've been spying on him longer then you'd think. In the first note you find, you see he's been being stalked for awhile now. So they could have figured out his name way before the events of the game
Sin 83: he still wants him as a body guard. If he dies, then he dies, but he doesn't necessarily care whether he turns or not, so he's not gonna be the one to kill him
Sin 84: the sample is a master plaga. Which is WAY rarer than a normal one.
Sin 102: it's sort of part of his plan to let them go and have them infect America. Leon can either be his guard or help infect America.
Sin 105: ik the statue is super easy to sin, but the rest of the game isn't very easy to sin. The main reason that there are so many is from nitpicking things and turning them into sins which don't make sense, opinions, or just things you're wrong about
116: again, he wants him as a body guard
118: the backstory for Leon and krauser isn't a CG movie. It's another game. (Also the movies aren't that bad. I had fun watching all 3 of them)
Sin 123: the movie came out 2 years before this and was a hit. And they copied the most memorable scene.
Sin 129: krauser had a master plaga. He couldn't control him
Sin 139: he most likely would have already died if it wasn't for her helping
Sin 146: Ashely isn't underage, she's 20
And once last thing, Only Claire A and Leon B endings on RE2 are canon, so the whole thing he said about Ada regarding that was, again, not true.
thanks for that list. i had issues with a number of his too, but seriously, there were too many inconsistencies to list for me! Great job, though.

You DO NOT know for how long i've been waiting for this videooo. One of my all time favorite games!
"He excels at roundhouse kicks and shooting" If Leon ever dies dis shit gonna be on his tombstone
Suplex, u forgot the most used thing: German Suplexes
Reverse Kick, not roundhouse.
I remember when he could barely turn.
You also missed the fact that even though saddler told Leon his plan, Leon didn't even report this in...
Saddler: "Sense you're here, why don't I introduce you to "IT".
Me: "YOU KNOW PENNYWISE THE DANCING CLOWN!?"😂
21:37 if you look in the game files provided by Hunnigan at the beginning of the game, Ashley is 20 years old.
I will say, while Ashley does seem really young, the wiki says she was 20 when the game took place.
Fairfieldfencer If you go into the files in the game, you'll find that picture with her description where it does say her age is 20
Huh. Could have sworn she was only 16. Now I can't even recall where I heard / read that.
Japan's version she was 16 in american she was 20
That makes Japan the creepy one.
Not in their country. Age of consent is 14 iirc
But, why is the game showing up the game's name like 3 times?
-1st in the ending of the narration.
-2nd when the cop finishes pissing.
-3rd when Leon says *' ' Where is everyone going, bingo?' '*
Nice list of things that make re4 awesome
A game that is perfect can’t highlight the good parts
LOL no
Just imagine if both Salazar's Verdugos jumped down from that balcony during their debut scene to battle Leon, no tanks around to freeze and slow their movement down, Ashley standing right next to you thus introducing a huge vulnerability, and your weapons ideally not being as powerful as they would be during the typical Verdugo boss battle... The game would be over at that moment. And now that you mention it, the whole concept of them letting Luis run off to find the medicine he dropped doesn't make sense because what the point in even exploring the castle further?
Couple of sins off:
-RE 2 canon is Claire A/Leon B. So no rehash of Ada trying to kill Leon or she surviving hundred of feet fall (although we could argue that the canon wasn´t decided until Umbrella Chronicles/RE 6 so maybe it was the intention when writing RE 4)
-Leon and Krauser met in Darkside Chronicles "Operation Javier" scenario, what CGI film are you talking about?
Martin Sawyer With CG film he's referring to cutscenes in-game
well actually the canon for re2 like re1 is a mix of the scenarios although it does more closely follow claire a and leon b
As a mexican i disagree
