The grind is awful. The attunement doesn't actually work, the shiny weapons are basically non existent, they are time limited, you can't re-set shax which means you stop getting engrams, and actually going to 50 waves is a complete waste of time. Even with the changes they announced, it's still better to just do 10 waves and then leave. They have royaly screwed up the loot system for this game mode.
Yeah and u dont have to play a dumb raid or pvp to get good stuff. My only problem is 50 waves of onslaught gets old real fast... Im board aft about 15-20 waves. I wish they would change that or make this a real endless hoard mode.

Compared to my Austringer, this does not feel as a smooth. I'm not sure if this is a moving target on controller thing that I might not take into account for how the gun feels for you, but for mnk, my Austringer just feels better. Looking at stats as well, with zen and eots procced (which happens every dual really), my austringer sits at 68 range, 78 stability, 77 handling (Smallbore, Ricochet Rounds, Eye of the Storm, Zen Moment). Hand cannons are kinda like snipers in that there are so many that you just need to find the one that feels the best for your personally, and for the Midnight Coup I'm not vibing with it right now. I have yet to get the MT/Zen roll though so I will hold out on definite conclusion until I get that :D
Yeah, crafted austringer is great. The combo of EOTS and zen moment is insane. Mine has 76 range and 71 stability. I'm running full bore for the range bump because enhanced EOTS and ZM both give stabiltiy. It's a dueling monster and super stable with great range.
Why tf is midnight coup not a lightweight frame hybrid??? The stats fit the bill. I would gladly take less ae or stability etc if it meant we got the bonus.
Don't like explosive payload rn, still reduces your damage compared to not using the perk. I can literally kill further without that perk. I don't feel like the range is a problem on this handcannon, it's 100% the stability killing it for me. I'd rather just use austringer or eyasluna. Also, eyasluna has 80 aim assist by base, however it has sights so its actually 85. Only 5 less than midnight coup. Midnight coup feels alright, but other handcannons feel better. Some people will still use midnight coup for the feel, but its not for me personally. Imo its solid.
Austringer is still better as a craftable HC. Rose is still better as a 140. Midnight Coup's saving grace is solely its base AE stat and its weapon model. I have a feeling it's just gonna be the flavor of the week, and that's it.
I’m not a fan of “it’s better” without substantiating it. Like I said, Coup had more aa, ammo in the mag, ae, and reload speed while also having juiced dueling perks. It’s fine to prefer something else, but it’s also important to be objective and recognize the areas where another thing shines.
I am normally very bad at using hand cannons in pvp, and avoid them like the plague. I crafted Optative, and got a pretty good roll on Midnight Coup, and these 2 hand cannons have felt infinitely better than every other hand cannon. Im finally enjoying hand cannons like the rest of the world!
I’m in a similar boat because I don’t feel comfortable using handcannons, but I’m quite cozy with Crimson and 180s. Optative feels particularly nice, and I have two crafted for PVP (Rapid Hit/Kill Clip and Keep Away/Golden Tricorn). I haven’t tried Midnight Coup in the crucible yet, though.
90 AA is pretty crazy, but those low range and stability stats are just moving me away from liking it. I was hoping Bungie would make its stats a little more in-line with more recent 140s, but they instead decided to keep it around the old 150 stat package.
I dislike 140's in pvp due to the kick from the recoil often covering my opponents body to the point that i have difficulty tracking the target. Hoping zen moment on this is enough to get a feeling closer to 180's, which i only use because of the recoil.
Same here. I'm way more comfortable using the 180s than 140s due to the difference in the recoil pattern. That’s why I’m anticipating Luna’s Howl joining the Brave arsenal. Even though it’s now a 140, it retains the 180 frame, which should make me feel at home using it.

Recluse feels like a more available and slightly upgraded funnelweb for pve where as both lunas howl and midnight coup are looking like good pve/pvp hybrids if your lucky in your farms.
I am so excited for these guns, I haven't been this excited for gumdrops in destiny since d1. I got a gold shiny Coup with Moving target Zen moment and then a shiny gold Succession with Snapshot Moving target AR fluted and a handling MW. It felt like drugs 😂

I have a Timelost Fatebringer that honestly I don't think anything else is gunna top. I NEED a Craftable one. I've got Fluted, Accurized, EP, EOTS with Stability MW. I use an Adept Range Mod in PVP & I end up with 69 Range, 72 Stability, 73 Handling & 49 Reload. It's an absolute BEAST.
We are experiencing Fact Creep once again and it shouldn’t be seen as specific to any one creator. The last very memorable case of Fact Creep was when Bungie took away enhanced targeting helmet mods. At that time we had standard which was +10 aim assist and enhanced which was + 15. So we were all grumpy that the enhanced ones were leaving but NOT TO WORRY! Because now ALL targeting mods were equal to enhanced! Yippee! But NOW Cool Guy is ASSURING us that this NEVER HAPPENED and that targeting mods are only worth +10. WTHeck?? Fact Creep. No here we see Moving Target which a year or two ago brought breaking news that the +10 to aim assist is passive! Always active! Yippee! But now here today we’re told by someone I absolutely consider as reliable that no, it only gives +10 when you’re moving. Fact Creep. WT actual Heck is true??
Desperate measures in pve is incredible everybody. It’s extremely easy to get 30% damage buff for 7 seconds that refreshes fully on ANY kill. Please ignore TV and go desperate measures. No hate to TV I just think he overlooked desperate measures.
But like I said, Firefly procs One for All for 10 seconds for a %35 buff. Desperate Measures is objectively inferior. Less DMG buff, shorter duration, less uptime.
This gun was not meant for PvP, and anyone using it in PvP is actively handicapping themselves. Range and stability matter above all else. There are mods and exotics for handling and reload, not range and stability. Midnight Coup has 40 range and 45 stability. By comparison, Austringer has 46 Range and 59 Stability, Fatebringer has 46 range 57 stability, Eyaslune has 51 range and 64 stability, even Kept Confidence has 46 range 56 stability. Midnight Coup is great in PvE, probably best in slot, but to say the gun is amazing in PvP when so many other handcannons statistically outclass it is ridiculous.
I really don’t want to grind for an RNG 5/5 when I have a crafted Austringer, a 4.5 of a Rose, Ace, Thorn, Last Word, Eyasluna, Fatebringer and Hawkmoon all in the same slot. It’s a nice f2p option but Fatebringer, Hawkmoon and Rose are all f2p as well.
Here’s a pretty funny roll and not a god roll by any means: Hammerforged, Accurized, Shoot to loot, Opening shot, Range MW for 70 base range. 75 with shoot to loot enhanced in Final Shape. With Opening Shot’s +25 range, you have 100 range for your opening shot haha
Eyasluna has 85 aim assist cuz it has sights which give 5 aim assist. 90 aim assist is really good yes but moving target is not needed becuz of that. One hc targeting gets you to 100 AA. Multiple hcs can get to 100 AA with targeting mods. Thorn, Eyasluna, Rose, Hawkmoon, etc.. Saying (even in a joking manner) that Midnight Coup is "almost broken" for any reason is a joke. No hc in this game is broken. Every sidearm and almost every smg in this game actually is broken.
The problem with using legendary kinetic primaries in PvE not counting stasis or strand but for me is they feel like you’re being held back by not using an elemental primary
I need to focus the MC I got the shiny one from the quest and it's definitely hot garbage in the crucible. Will never use that one again but ya will try for some other rolls. Right now my Rose with slide shot and explosive rounds is 100000x better

EP does not give u more range. EP actually now give u less range than if u didn’t have it on now bc of the new sandbox. Tho EP does give u further 4 tap potential but less 3 tap potential.
Imma be honest, I don't like this gun. I don't know what it is but it just doesn't feel good to me. This handcannon feels terrible. Because 180s it's the worst handcannon I have ever used
If I get attrition orbs one more time I swear. Still haven't had a single drop with either zen moment OR moving target. Gun still feels amazing. If I could just get that roll.
Is it me or does anyone else prefer stability over impact, this is the reason I only use 180 hand cannons because they basically stay in one place rather than dance all over the place when firing, yes I know there are people that can't stand 180's but each to their own I guess
I don't know if it's the aim assist stat or what, but this gun feels so snappy and accurate. Sounds great, and for some reason in PVE I just can't seem to miss headshot after headshot.

Yeah pretty done with destiny I spent alot of time farming these weapons just for them to be useless and taken away just to have to spend more money on the gun I already had, then the next update they probably will make them useless again.
i got a shiny midnight coup with smallbore, accurized rounds, and a range masterwork. as for the perks, i can swap between firefly + kinetic tremors for pve and moving target + zen moment for pvp. what an incredible day
I have an explosive/OFA roll thats very fun and hits HARD. I think it's the most damage you can get on a legendary 140, since the 15% from explosive and OFA work together. I miss the reload speed bonus though. I will definitely keep an eye out for Firefly/OFA or Firefly/Rampage
Explosive payload actually reduces your 3 hit kill range now, since crits matter more and the explosive portion can’t crit. It can probably help you get a 5 or maybe 4 shit more consistently and it’s still good from the flinching alone, but it’s actually a reduction in precision damage now
Hot take, even with the recent buff, hand cannons often feel outclassed in pvp. The main thing is range. Fighting a prosecutor or a no time or a messenger can feel really bad sometimes, because in longer range fights it just feels like you’re getting destroyed, because you are. Even if you hit all crits you’re still getting out gunned even if you are just slightly out of your range. My exalted truth adept with 80+ range and ace of spades can compete at 34 meters but I have to pick my fights well, because prosecutor is hitting 37 meters easily, and most hand cannons don’t have that much range. Combine that with the slower time to kill and hand cannons just feel really bad. I mean, you can hit nearly 40 METERS with a Firefright, and nearly 39 with a prosecutor. I think hand cannons need an extra meter and a half across the board to compete.
They weren’t lying back then TV. They were on ultra easy mode M&k. I really wish you and others would openly call out other content creators for advising while on the least played version. But good on you for staying roller, and not taking the easy road.
I focused this hand canon yesterday and turned in 200 tokens, I got 6 out of 20 rolls for the hand canon 🙃

I think they are both great. DM replenishes your melee or grenade energy too depending on class type

Ken trem and attrition makes orbs like crazy. Could replace some fragments in builds.

i got a shiny midnight coup with smallbore, accurized rounds, and a range masterwork. as for the perks, i can swap between firefly + kinetic tremors for pve and moving target + zen moment for pvp. what an incredible day

I have an explosive/OFA roll thats very fun and hits HARD. I think it's the most damage you can get on a legendary 140, since the 15% from explosive and OFA work together.
I miss the reload speed bonus though. I will definitely keep an eye out for Firefly/OFA or Firefly/Rampage

Explosive payload actually reduces your 3 hit kill range now, since crits matter more and the explosive portion can’t crit. It can probably help you get a 5 or maybe 4 shit more consistently and it’s still good from the flinching alone, but it’s actually a reduction in precision damage now

Hot take, even with the recent buff, hand cannons often feel outclassed in pvp. The main thing is range. Fighting a prosecutor or a no time or a messenger can feel really bad sometimes, because in longer range fights it just feels like you’re getting destroyed, because you are. Even if you hit all crits you’re still getting out gunned even if you are just slightly out of your range. My exalted truth adept with 80+ range and ace of spades can compete at 34 meters but I have to pick my fights well, because prosecutor is hitting 37 meters easily, and most hand cannons don’t have that much range. Combine that with the slower time to kill and hand cannons just feel really bad. I mean, you can hit nearly 40 METERS with a Firefright, and nearly 39 with a prosecutor. I think hand cannons need an extra meter and a half across the board to compete.

It’s not even better than D.F.A, and that’s not even Best in slot. My D.F.A. Has 93 range 64 stability. I’ll use that over MC any day.
