Sambora is the reason why a very substantial proportion of people started to play guitar. He is the ultimate stadium rock lead guitarist, songwriter, singer, lead guitarist and bluesman. He is Hendrix/SRV mixed with EVH but with restraint and outstanding song writing.
I would say that the best guitarist for riffs and what not would be James Hetfield. I mean James can really put down some killer riffs. I completely understand that they are different genres. However, when it comes to those hairbands of the 80s Richie absolutely killed it. The guy is so dang talented. I will never forget dead or alive. From my recollection it is the first guitar solo I ever remember hearing. Anyways, my only problem with bon Jovi and Richie is that I believe their best work was from the keep the faith album. His leads on dry county are so so good. Compared to the ret of their albums I feel like keep the faith had his best guitar work on it. I know it's just my opinion. But yeah, I kind of wish that their music was more like how they did keep the faith in terms of how their guitar parts were done.
@@JohnWick-wi9rsKeep the faith is a master piece, but I personally think these days show a bit more maturity on his guitar playing, writing and really good arrangements, I miss that Bon Jovi 90’s rock style
Yeah, Wanted dead or alive is the reason I picked up a guitar for the first time. I just wanted to play like Sambora. His music still inspires me to this day.
Thanks for being one of the few if only UA-camr to honour Richie Sambora. Definitely underrated amongst the public and guitar players. The catchy riffs, choruses you can sing your heart out too followed by a tasteful guitar solo is what made a great Bon Jovi song. Not forgetting his incredible voice which could certainly give Jon a run for his money but worked so well alongside Jon’s.
Richie is my OG guitar hero, I made a video about how much he has inspired me as a guitarist and what it’s meant to me over the last 30 years, I love him so much, have you seen ‘Thank you and goodnight?’ Can’t believe how shitty Jon was to him, what an idiot, throwing away the best partnership he ever had. Bon Jovi have never been the same since Richie left, no disrespect to Phil X but it’s not the same band
Sambora - Wanted Dead or Alive - masterpiece, Never Say Goodbye. He is what many aspire to be and he is on youtube still in guitarshops, playing with heart and soul. You can see it on his face and hear it in his playing. Sambora's playing and depth made me want to pick up a guitar.
Richie was heart and soul - tasteful and his guitar sings. His playing is 100% quality and fit the music perfectly. Richie's tone, GOLD! He is the quality full real deal fully developed musician and not just a shred one dimensional guy of "hey look at me" cheap gymnastics.
This made my day, amazing job recreating a rock legend. Wanted to hear more from your "dry county " attempt but this was still very great to see someone else appreciated richie sambora too.
Thank you, this video was amazing, been a fan of bon Jovi since the 80's and the main reason was richie sambora. Wanted dead or alive is still my all time favorite song to listen to live.
Great video! really enjoyed it and i agree These days is an absolutely great album!!! Richie s playing is inspiring in many ways and what i focus as a guitarist myself he has a special touch and timing that make it so hard to nail...you can play sth close to it but to really nail his guitar work you have to master a lot of nuances and details...
Hi Mike, great content as always, also being a massive Richie fan but a pretty novice player, do you know the best resources to find an overview of his playing? Song lessons etc, particularly from the these days album
Hmmm there isn’t many tbh. I have done another video talking about Richie in what I picked up from him when I started. Hopefully that will help. ua-cam.com/video/FtrkgmpNxS8/v-deo.html
Thanks Mike, yeah I've struggled to find much myself, obviously with you having a couple of videos on him on him I figured you may know of somewhere with some additional song breakdowns etc. No problem, thank you again
i really love your videos!❤ how old were you when you started play guitar? your a big inspiration for me to practice more! :) (sorry if my english is bad i’m dutch😂)

You just summed him up perfectly.
A songwriter with awesome chops, a great sense of melody and he crafted solos which fitted the songs. Massively underrated as a guitarist.

People can talk crap about him played for Bon Jovi. But I will always think he is one of the best. He is my guitar hero!

He is the very reason I started playing! Very underrated & what a singer also👍🏼👍🏼

Adore how Richie has a couple of references in the Prayer solo to a run in the chorus bass line. Genius.
He gave a speech and received an honorary degree at my college graduation Kean University, NJ 2004! great guitarist and a nice guy!
Sambora is reason I play guitar …. Blues rock and acoustic stuff let alone a great singer

Mr Bluesman.
i really love your videos!❤

Aww thank you for the love. I was 12 when I started so have been playing for 5 years! 😜😂
@@MikeBradleyofficial hahahaha 🤣, you wish😉❤️
What string gauge do you use on that Strat? I’m trying to do those bends on 0.10 and struggling pretty bad… should I give up and change to 0.9?
Thanks for asking. I use 10s. If it feels hard try 9s or try playing more to build your strength up. If it hurts though, defo stop
Hi! Nice to watch some Sambora solos here in this video. If you like it, checkout my related amateur indie stuff here. Nice video!
It’s always such a pleasure to hear you two jam and listen to your analysis of songs and artists. More please!🙏🏼
Aww thank you.
