one thing I think will make a big difference is getting better supports for these characters (specifically, 5 star supports who interact with crit in some way would go a big way for zhu yuan and ellen)
3:02 YES THIS EXACTLY!! The lack of A rank Crit Weapons makes building Attacker not worth it at all they're way too restricted compared to what Anomaly units can have. If you want a S rank Attacker make sure to get their Sign Weapon or your DMG will be compromised
1:49 Jane's AP cap is a bit weird. It's 420 for max ATK buff, but for 100% crit rate of Assault she needs only 375 with core F. Basically, if you have core E and 420 AP you are only missing on 25 ATK from core and if you don't care much for a full passion buff you can get away with 375. And having Seth on your team drops the requirement by 90~100 (Seth's core D~F) as long as you care to keep his shield around. And having 275-320 AP as your base minimum is literally nothing, and everything above just converts to more damage. And AP is especially broken considering it converts 1 point to 1% bonus damage. So, that's like having to build only Crit Damage while always having 100% Crit Rate. O_O And in Jane's case that's 1.5% since her Assaults themselves crit on top of that.
That's the thing you are not seeing though. It's starting to get to a point where it's not enough to simply pull for an anomaly character anymore because like almost every single mihoyo game, they eventually pull away accessibility from the character by making either their weapon mandatory, or walling off the characters full potential behind a couple of constellations. Take yanagi for example. Without Yanagi's signature W-Engine the character loses out on 20% of their damage which actually makes them a bit weaker than Jane doe. While that's not a big loss as being paired with other anomaly characters can make up for that to an extent, it's not going to be the same at all for Miyabi. Miyabi's hyper-carry potential is paywalled to her M2, What's worse is that there is ZERO engines that are compatible with Miyabi because she is an off-field anomaly DPS agent that wants to be built like a crit agent. Without the engine the player loses out on 50% of her potential damage and the only way to make up for that is if you are very good at disc RNG to get the perfect stats on every single piece. So yes, the game is going full honkai star rail which in turn means f2p are going to haft to get comfortable being able to only pull every 2 patches for 1 character and 1 engine. That's every 5 character banners.
in their defense, the discs are super easy to get with good stats, I dont even need to be doing those clean up stages to get decent discs to use, i just use the music store to get discs and the rng is pretty player friendly in this part.

It's not crit is a problem, its everyone jumping on fotm cause its back to back anomaly releases. Even Miyabi is crit based, wanting crit stats to convert into anomaly style damage. Some people just can't take time to do the basics and then have an uninformed opinion.

Seems like you are a bit confused, since the start I was just wondering which were your ideas but the more you talked it seemed that you still need to play more and get more informed about the game and different teams, not using caesar with Ellen is a big red flag, but then not lvling Nicole is a big problem, she’s a good universal support character, tbh it feels more like you are still lacking in game experience specially while you keep talking about HSR, instead of bringing similarities between games you need to center yourself in whats in a game and learn how to play it without comparing what’s on other titles. If you ask me, what you have to do rn is to learn more about the game, about other players, what they do, how they play, how they overcome things, i have seen many f2p players doing great, so rn, just go and learn more since this video had many problems in it regarding information.
