As someone who plays this very casually, I very much appreciate the depth you give to help some of us who need the help understanding. It gives us hope that we can still use some characters in different combos regardless of what we have. Same goes for the Seth support video. Very helpful and handy.
You can always ensure buff uptime during stun even on M0 Lucy with a smart rotation. Using her charged EX in itself during stun is suboptimal, since the quick assist will only happen after the boar hits the opponent, which takes quite a long time when the skill is charged, thus lowering the precious dps window. However if you finish the chain attacks with her, you can play around the issue, since her chain provides a quick assist you can take to swap off of her as soon as the charged EX is launched without the need to wait for the boar to hit the target.
The way I do it is proc stun with Ex Fly Ball (the charged one, do chains until landing back on Lucy and then quick assist to activate Starlight Engine for my current DPS.
A few extra things to note about Lucy: * Boars are not squad members. Guard Boards' DPS will only benefit from Lucy's own buffs and debuffs on the enemy. So no Piper giving the boars an 18% DPS increase. * Lucy M6 causes anomaly buildup. It also uses the boars' stats. Boars are not Bangboo and so contribute to anomaly despite having 0 Anomaly Proficiency and no way to gain it. Burns from boars deal 0 damage. * If a boar triggers a burn which requires poorly timed switches, then the burn and any disorder caused do 0 damage. * Lucy's M6 is even more cursed because it can also sometimes steal the Boar she is about to launch with her special. * Despite all this, that M6 is fun and powerful. Piper can queue up endless spinning swings. * Lucy shouldn't build physical DMG. Boars don't inherit it and her initial swings are a very small portion of her damage. (I think that's just a mistake on your builds slides since you said differently earlier.) * Lucy's assist has a fantastic animation that should usually be avoided. She doesn't have a strong defence like Ben or Piper and the adorable animation calls all her boars over stopping whatever they were doing. * In case you were wondering her M4 is not part of Cheer On. It applies to her boars but does not get increased by her core passive.
Despite being f2p, I’ve had the good fortune of having M6 Lucy since 1.0. So, naturally, after Ellen and ZY were built I put all my focus into Lucy who is a ridiculous lvl16 on all her skills. It is now exceedingly easy to hit her atk cap. Her M6 is just bonkers and really opens up a lot of different builds. If you use Piper and Corin, the boars rain down continuously. Fire damage, impact, and anomaly all have some benefit. I am just curious if anyone else has played around with maximizing their Lucy for fun yet I’ve gotten her M6 boars to hit around 20k+ each, and her ult hits 110k-120k per boar (x 3) against stunned bosses. She can even be the DPS of a 3 support team with Rina & Nicole.
Good news for anomaly builds: with the new 1.2 update, the boars now inherit Lucy's anomaly proficiency! I'm looking forward to a Burnice/Lucy combo, especially with Jane or Piper.
This was such a comprehensive guide holy cow. You managed to discuss everything I wanted to know and way more! I never actually thought of running impact to make her slightly a stun unit.
An unmentioned but occasionally useful tech for Lucy is that you can dodge cancel out of her specials. The moment her bat hits a boar during either a line drive or pop fly you can dodge out of the recovery animation and immediately do another special. Its mostly something to get a bit of extra damage or anomaly off when reapplying her buff. If you do an EX pop fly into a normal line drive, she should be hitting the line drive at about the same time as the pop fly lands for a quick assist.
Didnt know about Lucy's M2 but now that she's grtting a free drop in story and the upcoming banners have her I'm eagerly hoping for even just 1 drop during 1.2 pulls

Lucy also pairs well with units that have powerful chain attacks like Billy, Nicole, and Rina to name a few. I personally enjoy pairing her with Sokaku as together they can massively increase the overall attack of the entire team. This combo is especially good because both of their special abilities proc quick assists allowing you to rapidly switch between characters. Lastly, I don't think Lucy needs to use her EX special to activate Fly Ball passive she just needs to hold down her special attack.
This is hilarious because I just came to the same conclusion earlier yesterday that building Impact on Lucy was the right play. Edit: After some testing on a lvl 70 Dullahan, the daze difference is +1 on both versions of her EX with a maxed Impact disk vs. anything else. With shockstar 2pc + Impact disc, the tap EX is +2, while the hold EX is unchanged on a neutral enemy. What this means (to me) is that if you're running the Starlight Engine on your DPS, stick to Energy Regen on slot 6. If your DPS is running anything else and your Lucy is c2, you may as well use an Impact slot 6, but don't bother with 2pc shockstar unless you're running her with Caeser and her signature W-engine.
Lucy's 3-4 attack loop is one of the highest damage and daze multipliers in the game just not very practical, but Ceasar's shield on Lucy for the continuous uninterruptable 3-4 attack loop is one of the more interesting things to try out in the 1.2 patch.
For skill level up priority, I have never once used lucy auto attack as a support. In fact i believe that the auto attack skill should be the least priority compared to dash. I would put chain attack/quick assist for more dmg/daze as 2nd and 3rd priority
Pre-M2: Ending chain at Lucy, holding ex special, and swapping the second she starts her swing lets you still use the chain attack quick assist prompt and get the cheer on buff, while still getting swing jazz off with only a second or two lost on your dps

How y'all feel about Zhu yuan Lucy and Nicole? Cus my main team is with Jane and I am using grace, so I could switch Lucy in sometimes if I have her built, and I don't wanna build Anby so idk feels like a good choice
This is actually the team I used and I’ve managed to clear all shiyu defenses. I didn’t pull qinyi and also did not want to build anby as well, while it takes a longer time to stun the enemies, I try to defensive assist often to build daze and when they are finally in the stun window, the cheer on buff/nicoles shred lets my zhu yuan kill most bosses within 2 stun windows
I saw somewhere that buffs duration is paused during chain attacks. Yet you claim the buff is wasted during it if used with the non dps agent chain attack.
haven't built Lucy yet and iin case I lose 50/50 on Burnice, Imma need a fire SoC character. Going for a 4 Piece Swing Jazz for sure but seeing this made me hesitate between the 2 piece between Shockstar and Hormone Punk for that 10%. Right now leaning towards Hormone Punk, what yall think?

For a while myself and some friends were under the impression Lucy's boars were Bangboo in costumes, before we clocked that one of her Cinemas refers to them as THIRENS This raises the question then Why the fuck do they have stitch lines everywhere as if they were not organic
i have confirmed that lucy boars cant activate weeping cradle passive, but can anyone with m6 can confirm if the explosions can apply weeping cradle debuff? also like someone to test if lucy fire dmg affect the explosion dmg or is the explosion dmg only affected by lucy atk (like normal boar dmg)
Why does your Lucy have her hair on fire when she does her EX special? Is that from a mindscape or is that from her signature? I know Koleda's hammer or hair start to glow when she has her signature W-engine. I like the way it looks.
You can equip any type of engine on a character, but you won't get its passive if the type doesn't match Like right now I'm using Corin's engine on Seth 'cause none of the Def engines I own help him

Someone mentioned that her Max Atk Cap Requirement for her Buff can be lowered via Lvling her Special Attack. The Higher Lvl her Special Attack is, the Lower her Max Atk Cap Requirement. 😐

I already have her on Cinema1 and now waiting for free Lucy next patch. Cinema2 will make her rotation smooth.

It will work great. Jane over Piper is probably better but Piper fills the same role to trigger Disorder.

New to Mihoyo games how does it typically work. Are there generally 2 Banners per patch like 1.0-1.1-1.2 or between 2-3 banners
there’s 2 new banners each patch and eventually they will start rerunning old limited time characters alongside a new limited character typically
