I don't miss working on the big stuff for one reason that being it's BIG stuff and has lots of everything that has to be replaced. When you get 65 years old you can appreciate the smaller stuff as far as overhauling things. What you are doing is at least a two man job. That fork lift sure is handy and I strongly recommend gloves cause those blades will slice you open like a vegomatic. I'll hand it to you you keep your stuff in good repair and I agree this year is going to be a penny pinch year.
Very good video. I’ve never seen bearing guard that sounds interesting I could use them. Thanks for all your time videoing really enjoy them. The videos from Iowa are so interesting. The gentleman talking about when he worked in the dyno room sounds fun.
Ethan, it looks like you got quite a bit of work done on that soil finisher, you did a pretty good job keeping the colorful language off of the channel I never thought you ever used colorful language. Thanks Michael
Unfortunately here in Arkansas its go time but we keep getting enough strategically placed 1-2 inch rains that keep us out of the field. But it may dry up enough this week. Bout time to start getting rice in the ground , then corn, then beans.
It’s stupid to hang two disc blades past the end bearing. On our White 30’ disc I installed shorter shafts on the front wings to eliminate it down to one and no more bent shafts. Glad your driveshaft repair worked out and saved you money.
Those ❤spring things you were talking about welding and redrilling , why not drill out to a larger size and installing a bushing . You could make the bushing replaceable , or weld one in
It has bushings in it now. And the holes are wore so bad there wouldn’t be any meat left by the time you got it bored out large enough to clean up the slot.
Buy a bigger 3/4 inch airline and the big Milton p style coupler it will make that 1 inch impact an entirely different animal. I put a 25' ft whip hose on ours, plumbed directly into the air tank with no coupler. As 99.9 % on the time the transmissions are sitting on the workbench. I work on semi truck transmissions taking 2-inch yolk nuts off all day. 200psi on the line helps too haha!
I had to cap both the pressure line and the return line on my 1855. was leaking hydraulic oil into the rearend. Put new quad rings in the pto and it fixed the problem.
Yeah we're in the same boat it's so wet in southern Ohio it's going to be another week before anyway you'd be able to do any field work and their calling for more rain Wed - Fri for here this week
Nice episode
Your soil finisher will do a great job with new blades buddy

Doesn’t qualify as big until the blades are 24” or bigger.

Thanks.
You ever hear anyone say farming is not as hard as it used to be? It's as hard as it's always been, just a different level of hardness.
Ethan it's 90 degrees here in west Texas to warm to fast means very hot as umber here alot of plus 100 days gonna be fuggly
It's always a job getting ready for planting season each year.

Not as much as it needs but it’s a start.
Driveshaft looking great. Thanks for sharing and I'll see you later.

Don’t complain to much. The way the weather has been going bipolar could be into a drought by next week.
It’s always going to be something!
hard work but so worth it ethan!
Yep
Nice job on the finisher
Thanks

All new disk is going to give the 150 a load
It's probably the half spools next to the bearing are fubar from being ran with a bad bearing in the past.
There are full spoils with visible damage to.
A bead breaker and a bead blaster are the best tools you can have
Yep
Good video Ethan 😂😂😂😂

After I finally broke down and spent the money on a bead breaker and used it I told dad that I should have bought one 10 years ago lol
Bout how I felt about it.
We made them in our shop using sps 245
Some stuff you don't think about I guess, that spring system at the Oliver factory for assembling disc games would be way easier than anything else.

Our compressor doesn’t have that kind of capacity.

Mine needs a whole new clutch pack. I’ll bet a paycheck the plates are warped.
Ethan what redwing boots do you wear? How do you like them
It was in the 90s here today. Everything is burning up. Wheat is starting to head. The busy time is upon us.
It will be another couple weeks here.
Guys planting around here Farm Boy
How long did that thing set before you rescued it? Because it looks like it's got lichens growing all over it. Lichens take years to get that size.
It was power washed a couple years ago.
It's easy spending money.
Always.
Did you get a new king pin?
Not a high priority right now.
Is that a glenco soil finisher buddy?
Yea
Ethan do u still plan on gettin a grain cart especially the way prices are and future dont look to bright
If I found a good deal on one.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy ethan lets pencil the miles to wisconsin. I can find u one have one in mind now
@7:00 instead of welding closed and redrilling. Perhaps just over boring and use a bushing instead.
No because there wouldn’t be any meat left by the time you got the hole opened up big enough to clean up the wear.

They keep scaling our rain back. I’d almost rather it rained to build up the moisture bank.
