I upgraded the base model speakers to these and the difference is amazing. My ears can’t take the volume above 4. The sound is much more detailed than the stockers.
It always astounds me how you make almost anything interesting.. I am at some stage looking to replace my RM 6 speaker 300 watt system.. as after the 18 model it jumped to 600 watts. This motivates me to do so. But still waiting on my folk seals to arrive, only been 5 months. Doing new midraise bars at the same time.. cheers for the video Brian. Ps ending is piss funny.
One of the best upgrades I have made to my 19, RoadMaster. It has 4 speakers to the challengers 2, sound quality is so nice. Cruising on the interstate at 75mph you only need to have volume turned up to 2.5 to get a full rich sound.
I had recently picked up a 2017 Chieftain Limited with many bells and whistles. I was primarily looking to get a longer fuel range than what my Scout would do. Plus some old-man creature comforts was a nice addition as well. I had just recently upgraded my fairing speakers with the marine grade Polk Audio MM522 speakers. Although they sound awesome, I'm still wanting better sound quality. Thanks you you, I'm reminded that Dynamat will work in motorcycles too. Why the hell didn't I think of this before? Oh well. I'm also going to install some poly fill to reduce the resonance as well. This will improve the bass sound without having that hollow sound. Eventually I'll install the saddle bag lids with sound, but for the meantime I'll just improve what I have up front. As always, I enjoy your videos. Thanks again for another awesome video!
Good video I installed these on my base challenger which had smaller speakers. I'm more old school listen and can hear clearly at even interstate speeds. Was pricey but I'm happy
After going back and forth over how I wanted to listen to music on my Springfield, I opted for wireless in-ears vs mounted speakers. I chose the Jaybird Vista SEs. They have active noise cancelling and the audio quality is exceptional. The ANC dramatically reduces the engine noise to allow the music to clearly be heard. The battery lasts many days of riding because they charge while in the case. Plus, they only set me back $150! The fact that I don't have a fairing to drop in speakers also came into play!
That interesting, never heard of them, will check that out. I currently use a set of iAsus helmet speakers with and outboard amplifier that works with me Sena, also very good wuality
I too have hearing issues, but I hear the 6.5" stock speakers quite well at highway speeds and volume about 2 1/2. And I wear foam ear plugs. I don't think I'll spend the $650 for the speaker upgrade judging from several reviews I've seen. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve superglued metal plates to my helmet and chucked Bose speakers by 10. Plugged into my old 1980s stereo strapped to my back. Surround sound is achieved, however my music is relegated to @TwoDigbys copied tapes. Downside is the helmet is really heavy, upside it helps me get my knee down when going round the race track. 😁true story!! I think your set up is almost as good as mine to be fair. 😁😁 Disco time! 👍🏾👍🏾
Hi Brian nice video as always. I have these speakers no liner. I also have the bag lid speakers. I am very satisfied. Volume is ridiculous. I often stay between levels 4 & 6 maybe 7 at high speeds but I find it too loud above 6 most of the time. The Hardstreet bag liners and shelf made a big improvement in the rear speaker sound I did notice that. Enjoy, and ride safe brother!! ✌
The power band audio speakers sound awesome and clear and get ear bleeding loud "IF" The 9 band EQ is adjusted correctly and your using a good source for the tunes.
LOL, “Ear bleeding“, I guess we all have different ideas of what that means. He has a lifelong audio file and someone who works in the audio and video industry I can debate this with you to the ends of the earth. The speakers are not capable of producing any type of ear bleeding sound

@@TwoIndiansI should have explained but didnt think i needed to. My ears go def when playing all the way on vol 11 for long rides all you have is 2 speakers LOL You dont even have the speakers in the bag lids LOL, You wouldnt know what im talking about smart guy. I have the pursuit with 8 speakers 800 watts vs your 2 @ 200 watts LOL, BIG difference, and yes its ear piercing loud if the 9 band eq is set correct and right song is playing so before you can debate me you need 8 speakers @ 800 to know what im talking about LOL! LOL! LOL!
Different vid, but since you mentioned it in this one, after seeing your last installment I called RVS with a couple questions, nice folks. DPV3 tuner on its way tomorrow. I'm sure it will unlock some performance, but im really hoping it will take care of the annoying throttle lag and hesitation on the ts111.
Somewhere on the editing room floor unused because it was cut from the video is the rest of the footage of Barbara pulling into the garage and getting off of that Can-Am. In my heart a small flower blooms and then Withers and dies a sad cold lonely death because I didn't get to see that footage. I won't be needing any mandscaping tonight. My gryclactrometer hits on all four chugeits though. :'(
I would upgrade the amp power as well. 650 for speakers is a little high. Dyna mat is good stuff. Put it all over. It helps. Also, these speakers need to be contained within their own enclosure to sound better.
I listen to music through my ear buds. Pulling up to a lite, and hearing 5 different bikes on full volume playing different music drives me crazy. Not to mention the strange looks you get from others.
We can’t use ear buds in Florida, against the law. I’ve always ridden with upgraded speakers in my helmet but TBH I’m excited about having the fairing sound system. But yeah, I turn it down at stop lights. Not gonna be “that guy” 🤣
You know, we need a music sync app, so that it will sync the same music when everyone so that everyone listens to the same music/songs, imagine 10 bikes pull up and all their sound is in sync. I would love to see/hear that
Ear buds are Illegal in Massachusetts too. They claim you have to be able to hear emergency vehicles, tell that to a deaf person. I don’t play the music that loud, I can hear just fine.
Wouldn't the wind noise while wearing a full face helmet at highway speed wash out the music? I've been running the Motikom ear buds neck lace doo da . Blocks out wind noise mostly with noise suppression and i hear the music clearer then speakers in my helmet. I'm still curious how good fairing mounted sound systems can be though . 🤔🇦🇺
I have Indian Road Master and get that question alot.. it sounds great i don't lose quality or volume even at top speed.. 2 speakers in front fairing, 2 in Saddle bags and 2 in trunk front.. even when i have bags off and trunk the 2 up front still power on..
No. I can hear just fine with the normal system going down the highway. I do have a taller windscreen that cuts all of the wind buffeting on my head. The sound is right in your face and it's nice when it's warm out. I do use my earbuds plugged into my Cardo in the winter to keep that heat in around my face.
Here’s how I answer that. If you’re installing a high end sound system and you want to make sure you get the most out of your investment then in that case $185 is cheap to make sure you’re doing everything you can for great sound. But if you have stock speakers or even the Indian upgraded speakers my answer would be “no”. Remember, it doesn’t improve the sound of the speakers it just mitigates vibrations (as well it can) so your good sound doesn’t get trashed but if your speakers are incapable of really producing noticeable vibrations then the money isn’t well spent.
have you done a sound test or checked the loudness and quality with indians new bass boost upgrade to the powerband? i'm interested in if there is a quality difference
Waitttttt a minute, I came here for serious and precise technical knowledge about how the thing-a-mo-bob and the which-iz-it work together. Bummer 😂😂😂 And that dang Ronnie is a hoot. Hate I was halfway across the country
@@Trexducatis I Love all of them but as I've gotten older I gravitate to more of the acoustic stuff like Keb Mo, Eric Bibb etc and of course song wrtiers are a big influence on me as well. I guess its the curse of playing an acoustic guitar LOL. Poorly I might add.
I don't know what to think. Watching you have to use that old wore-out wallet and have no money in it just brought me to tears. Hey, Brian. Do you know what the Pursuit audio is stock? The Indian website says one thing and their brochure says another? 🇦🇺
Looks like both the Limited and DH get the 50w speakers same as the Challenger Limited at DH.

I think I mention in the video that the speakers have a pretty solid “cabinet”. It’s very rigid and doubt there’s much resonance at all

It takes some application adjustment as the speakers have internal amplifiers. You cant just plug in a new speaker sadly.
