Great review. I got the 7” dark touring shield from them for my street glide and it works like a champ. I’m 5’7 and I don’t feel any wind buffering at all. But I only use it for long distance.
Freedom shield are the best ones I seen so far. I got one for the scout fairing, I was nervous it would look funny because of the photos , but way better in person, looks great.. wish I got the 14 inch even though the 10 inch is looks awesome..
@@Ridingfish Ive never had a Bike that had power windshield....only stationary ones...And i can say from experience and taught by experieced riders...You NEVER want to look through a shield but over it...The only way i have found that works is with a flip or flare at the top of the shield that pushes the air up...
@@Ridingfish My Quick release Batwing on my FatBob is a 9inch with a wicked flip or flare whichever word you want to use...Works perfect for me at 6ft i still see over it and it cuts the wind for me....Anything more than that...Drive a Cage
Spot on review of the sizes. I love my 9" Freedom Shield. Even at 6'1' I think it's perfect. Looks great all the way down in town and performs great at highway++ speeds all the way up. I usually find the sweet spot at about 50% at higher speeds. If I had it do do over again i'd probably go with the med tint over the dark. Dark looks great but it's really dark at night when it's all the way up. Thanks!
I have the Klockwerk 9", I,m 6'1 with a 32" inseam. To me it has more turbulence then stock. Now Im thinking about getting the freedom shield in 11" but not crazy about look. Whats your inseam and the 9" freedom were is it to upper lip at full up ?
@@RRP777 I'm 32" inseam as well. Not sure what the other measurement that you're asking for. I usually run the shield about 50% up on the hwy. Only time I go full up is really high speed or in the rain.

The sizes for the chieftain and the roadmaster run even and the ones for the challenger run odd.. I sent her a message back asking if I could change to a 10 inch cause after I watched your video again I realized 12 might be too tall

Yea it will take some help!! But there has been a decent amount of ppl that have had thay issue...I do know that Indian has been warranting them.. if not under warranty there is a guy in Facebook groups that sell the piece that broke.. sorry
I could be wrong, but I doubt they'd let you return the windscreen if you opt for engraving. How could they resell it if it has a personal engraving on it?

The stock Chieftain is a 10" and its nearly perfect for me.. but sometimes on the highway I wish I had another inch or so. When the screen is all the way up.. the top of the screen is right in my line of sight.
Hey. I got my 10" Freedom Shield today. I used your discount code. Question.. did you use the foam seal that comes with the windshield? I installed mine and didn't realize they sent the foam seal until after I finished the install. I'm debating on whether I should remove the screen and put the foam gasket on.
I have a 14" Freedom Shield for my 2016 Indian Chieftain, and I really do like it much better than OEM. I am going to buy the shortest one, a 10" for next summer though, because my only gripe is that I don't get enough air flow in the summer heat. I will definitely use the discount code to let them know who sent me.
I see people having issues with the mechanisms that raise and lower the shield. Primarily that plastic worm gear. Hopefully indian does a fix for that.
Hey Man, Did you notice a difference in wind protection/buffenting going from the Klock Werks to the Freedom? I currently have the KW but thinking about switching to the Freedom for reason I do not want to say on here (lets just say it looks like something and I do not like that). I got a new seat that sits me up a bit higher and with my SENA on, anything above 90mph all I get is "Say a command, say a command"..it's so fukin annoying! I just need slightly higher than stock so was thinking the 9in..

Hello Ridingfish, As you know I ordered a new Pursuit on May 14th. I want to order a Freedom Shield. My problem is size. So I measured the one on my Roadmaster. 17" It is the way I like it. I usually keep it all the way down. I don't like looking though a windshield. When on the highway I put it all the way up so I can communicate without the wind noise. I am about the same height as you. What is the height of the stock Challenger windshield? Just trying to understand all the nuances. I just purchased a new helmet. It is a modular. Previously I always had worn a 3/4. So there's that! So wind noise may be different.. May have to wait till I get the bike to make a decision. I am going have some etching on it so can't get it wrong. Measure twice cut once. Thanks for all your good work!
I'm 5"10-5"11.. I have a 9 inch Freedom! I tell ppl a person is 5"8 then a 7 inch would work and I talked with a guy that was 6"1 he said he gets a little buffet with the 9 inch...
I've rode a few of the Challengers at the demo rides and I love the bike but the buffeting is so bad I can't stand it. One did have a flare shield not sure the brand but same issue. I'm 6 feet tall. Did you have any issues with the stock screen that this one solved? I do wear a Shoei full face helmet. Thanks Mark
I wear a full face and the 9 inch is just fine I mean at fast speeds I raise it up.. the flare was a klockwerks im sure.. im surprised it didn't fix it for you!!. Did you raise the windshield???
@@Ridingfish Yes I tried all kinds of heights. The chieftains had similar issues as well. The Harley Road Glide has been the best as far as no buffeting. I would prefer an Indian. I ride an FTR now and I am getting ready to put my small Puig wind screen on for the cooler weather and that gives me almost no buffeting. It's probably just me lol. Thanks for the reply.

I went from an 11” to a 9” also. The 11” just looked a little goofy. The 9 is perfect. I almost never put it all the way up.
