Thank you for this post. I felt like this was me telling my story! Except my panic attacks have been going on for years and I’m getting my colonoscopy this Friday (I highly suspect cancer). Your videos have comforted me because I feel better prepared if it is cancer.

Oh my gosh, I can't imagine going through panic attacks for years. I'm so happy to hear that my videos have comforted you and given you the confidence to be able to handle whatever news you may get on Friday. I'll be thinking of you and hoping that the colonoscopy finds something that isn't cancer.

Thank you. I was recently put on meds for anxiety, and I am sleeping much better. I was happy to hear you mention your sister. My two sisters have been my rock since December. They have kept me going at times when I just wanted to cover my head and hide from the world! True blessings!

You're videos are so informative and clear, thank you! I have a question: did you ever wean off the Lexapro and, if so, can you please share any details on that? There can be some dangerous things that happen such as discontinuation syndrome. Thanks!

Thank you so much! Yes, I did wean myself off of it. You're correct that just stopping cold turkey is not a good idea. I don't remember the exact schedule I did for weaning myself off, but I believe it was about a month of lowering the dose weekly until I was taking nothing.

I adore your videos. I've been suffering from anxiety practically all my life. And now I have to wait for a CAT scan to my small intestine + another test.... I'm on medication for the anxiety, but need I say more?

Scanxiety is a different beast from regular anxiety. Take some deep breaths and try as much as you can to be present in what’s happening now and what you can control in this moment. It’s hard. Hang in there 💙

Do your body insides shakes , like shivering? At the same time something, like a weird feeling starting from down moving up to the head to the point you get freaked out. That’s what I feel but no chest pain. When I get that feeling I also get the urge of using the bathroom.
    Anyone here felt this before?

I'm surprised you were not offered clonazepam or Xanax for your anxiety problems. I've been on practically every anti-anxiety drug and the best one for me was clonazepam 0.5 mg (low dose) two times a day., This is a long acting medication This prescription drug completely eliminated my panic attacks for the first time in my life. It was the only med that actually worked for me. It also aids in sleeping too. For my wife, it was Xanax (alprazolam) that did it for her. This is a short acting medication.

Xanax is very similar to Ativan, which is what I was prescribed to take when I felt a panic attack was coming on (or if I was having one). I was also on a long-term medication for the anxiety and it worked for me. If it didn’t they may have tried others including clonazepam, but I didn’t need something that strong.
