Thank you again. I sew, knit, crochet, embroider, carver and other crafts that you my hands. These will help me to keep all the joints in my hands and wrists flexible. You did it again.
Omg, I needed this. I thought I was the only one with this issue. Have been flexing my hand by twirling these silver steel balls bought from an Chinese gift shop. Now I have more exercises. Mike, you finally smiled. 😊 You and Bob complement each other. 😍
The last 6 years or so my primary hand - Left has shown a lot of issues. Arthritis on index and middle finger, index finger distorted and general aches and pain. I worked on a computer for thirty odd years and I also cross stitched, knit and crocheted. I guess this is the result of over working my hands. I have been to therapy and now am able to use them again. I will use these exercises every day to continue to keep them moving. Thank you for demonstrating these..
@@BobandBrad - Been a loyal follower for a long time. You've helped me through several foot surgeries, and a recent reverse shoulder replacement. Now at age 65, you have become an integral part of my life. I am a strong believer in physical therapy - it is truly as important as surgery, and many patients need to realize just how important it is. My shoulder surgeon even had me "buff up" my shoulder before my surgery to strengthen my existing muscles before the new shoulder was inserted. It really helped. Following my implant, I joined a gym and continued PT twice a week. It's been 13 months now since my implant, and I am feeling great. Thanks again for all your excellent advice and the perfect doses of humor. ❤️ {I also had nerve and tendon transplants in my left hand 40 yrs. ago, and when today's video popped up, a smile came across my face.}.
Have pins in foot after bad break 25 years ago and break and dislocation on ankle..now arthritic...any exercises for that...thank you for such great videos...
Please, please, please give us advice on trigger finger. My middle right finger gets stuck and I cannot make a fist without it getting stuck and it is SO painful when it pops back open. 😊 Also, how can you tell the difference between carpal tunnel and a pinched nerve in the neck (that’s a bonus happening on my left side)??? Thanks gentlemen!
Thanks again for giving us quality content Mike and Brad! Hi Bob!! I will definitely forward this to people who can benefit from doing these exercises. This video doesn't apply to me personally. Have a wonderful day guys!! Toodles!
OMG.. .I just recently started waking up the last two days with not being able to straighten one finger (middle one that is strange right?) and my hand ached... thank you I will start these excercises ASAP
what are you thoughts on finger knuckle cracking? it eleviates pain and stiffness in my ring and pinky fingers on my left hand. (injured my hand awhile ago) ring finger 'sticks' sometimes when making a fist, i've heard it called trigger finger. the knuckle cracking helps with this also. i also warm up my fingers every morning by pretending im a great guitar shredder.
Hi. Would you recommend arthritis compression glove or hand massager with heat. I have osteoarthritis and tophi in my fingers. Any other recommendations. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for this. Arthritis in that joint on the thumb side wrist is the most common, I have been told. Can exercise "beat" arthritis? Can you "bust it up" and over come it?
You guys are wonderful!! Thank you so much for making this video! I just emailed a few days ago and didn’t expect to see anything on the subject for a while. I’ll get on these. Too much gardening, lol
Thank you so much! I got diagnosed with arthritis after several long months of inflammation mostly on my right wrist, now 2 years on meds and 0 inflammation and not flare ups, but i cant fully extend that wrist or bend it down all the way, and still hurt a bit on and off depends of the movement i do. Im in my 40s and very sporty active, is there a posibility to get it back as before or special therapy for it?
Hello. I love your videos. I was wondering if you could help people in the comments? I’ve been trying physical therapy for awhile for bad shoulder blade and trap knots but can’t seem to get rid of them. Any time I lift anything even my son a few times, the knots get worse and give me headaches. I’ve been doing stretching, strengthening, etc. any advice?
after waking up and rub your hands together to stimulate the neurons and nerves within the hands, this stimulates the muscle mind connection and loosens up the hands before the day begins
Here is a link to all our trigger finger videos, hopefully you can find one or more that can help: www.youtube.com/@BobandBrad/search?query=trigger%20finger
I have an 5+ year instability injury of the biggest knuckle, right at the palm of my right hand that keeps recurring. I’m a professional guitarist and it really weakens my game, as I can only put a slight amount of to side pressure on the finger, which is how you pick and strum. It limits my opportunities, and it’s very depressing. It feels like a sprain or a jammed finger, but it occurs without much force and lasts for months, years. I thought it finally healed and now it’s back. No local medical/physio professionals have much to say on the subject. Any ideas on exercises or where to go from here? Kind of desperate… not looking for a cure, unless you have one. Just a way to improve and heal faster.
I’m still holding out hope for a video on the issue of occasional cramping in the forearms and fingers. When it crops up it’s usually later in the day when I’m trying to hold eating utensils. However the most annoying time is when I’m playing guitar at a gig.
The biggest issue in my 77 year old hands is with my left thumb. It got injured about 15 years ago when some aluminum angle I was cutting on a chop saw violently kicked back wrenching the heck out of that thumb. Turned black and blue and swelled up. Probably should have gone to a doctor but didn’t. Now I get wicked pain when squeezing the metatarsal area like Brad is doing in the wrist flex demo. Squeezing that big meaty muscle causes no pain. The other issue is at the first joint (by the thumb nail) which occasionally gets a stabbing pain when trying to move it like maybe a nerve gets trapped in the joint. I say occasionally because most of the time there’s no problem whatsoever. Very mysterious (and annoying!)
Hands and wrists are important- I’ve had trigger finger, and am currently dealing with carpel tunnel syndrome and TFCC, which is really unpleasant. I’m not sure any of these exercises will help in that regard.
Here is a link to our carpal tunnel playlist. Hopefully something in one or more of these will help: ua-cam.com/play/PL8l32k1r15l7bjc3--A-_FssncHE7piLx.html
@@BobandBrad Thank you! I'll have a look. A cortisone shot helped a little, and I'm now seeing an occupational therapist, since I really don't want TFCC surgery.
I carry out hand exercises from some of your past videos and I have noticed such an improvement. I too, was unable to make a fist and my fingers were so week I could not wring out my hair, for example. They have also helped with trigger fingers. Doing "jazz hands" also makes them feel good. Thank you so much for creating these videos. You kind folks have really helped me. Take care... HI BOB!
@@BobandBrad Thank you! I would definitely like to send it to my father. He has bad arthritis in his hands, and it is very much limiting his watercolor painting, home remodeling type stuff, gardening, sports, etc. He is very stubborn. His wife does all of the shopping/cooking, and he eats out in restaurants daily. His wife is a vegan. He is an O negative. He thinks that "pasta" and oatmeal daily is great. And lots of beer and vodka, too! I.e., he's a carb factory. I'd like to see him do an elimination diet (codeword for carnivore) for a week or two. He thinks that eating eggs, red meat, and salt is bad!
