I bought Woodland shoes that are gigantic leather boots. I bought them 4-5 years ago but i haven't unpacked them yet. I think now i will start wearing them for my trekking.
I bought woodland, used them for 1km walk for 3 days before a trek, ignored the discomfort thinking that the soals are best, and its soals got detatched on the trek day just after total walk of 13 km. I had to walk barefoot back home.
First time I've found a good professional explanation. Please advise on following issues: 1. I've woodland heavy shoes for men. The lace always comes out every few minutes & after tying it tight or normal, it still unties. It's irritating as I'd to do this all time even in girnar parikrama. Please advise what to do with the lace tying problem. 2. I'm thinking to buy Asian Everest 02 shoes. In your view, are these good for long walks in cities, jogging and trekking. Thank you.

Hi Dushyant, IH team. Which shoe would you suggest for doing Bali pass trek towards the end of May considering the terrain and walking on snow on the summit day.
Loved these tips! Thank you very much! ☺️ I've a small question. Doesn't the ankle support cause slight discomfort later? Also, if there's a space of a thumb, I hope it doesn't get prone to slipping and falling.? 🙈

Hi thnx for this wonderful info. I just wanted to know while trekking in Himalayas do we need to wear Trekking shoes or boots. ?? I recently visited Woodland and got confused wether to select high ankle shoes or boots. Kindly advise 🙏
I know your Q was a year old and you may have already bought your shoes. But to anyone reading, I'd highly recommend not to go for Woodland shoes. They are good at marketing and making their shoes look rugged, but trust me you might think you are wearing shoes made of wood with motor oil soles. They are uncomfortable to wear on a trek and they have little grip once the terrain changes to loose soil, water, mud, rocks, etc. Avoid. Better get a pair of Columbia, Lafuma etc. If you are not walking on level ground, always get shoes with ankle support.
Very informative video. Looking to your four tips mentioned in this video, kindly suggest me the name of shoes company which is manufacturing the shoes as per your suggestion.

Hi, I have recently bough a quechua trekking shoes which has a very hard sole and I am not getting any grip on rocky path. I cant no invest in buying new shoes soon. Can you provide any DIY tips to add more grip to my existing shoes?
I recently went on my first trek ( chandrashilla and tungnath) but while descend my toenail was keep pressing on shoe tip and it was very painful with every step.Do I need to change the shoe or buy one size bigger?
Two other things that might help. A good insole with cushion + grip (arch support), so your foot does not slide forward inside the shoe while descending. Then, tighten the shoe properly. Not just at the end where you pull the laces, but also at the starting rung (nearest to the toes). Loosen the laces, then start pulling the laces tightly from the start, then tighten the ends to tie a know. Use the excess loops of laces to loop through the lace hooks on the ankle so they dont loosen. Worked fantastic for me. I have toe nail problems despite clipping them properly. If you have in-grown toe nails, maybe going to a doctor just before a trek to have the ends trimmed may help.
Yes you can go ahead and use them. :) We haven't personally used them, but going by the specifications, they look good for all kinds of terrain. Do let us know of your experience!
Hi Soujanya, Ideally, you should buy trekking shoes one size larger than your normal size. Without the extra space, you’d develop shoe bites due to the constant rubbing of the toe against the shoe wall and it gives you extra room for your woolen socks (especially for the winter treks). A shoe which is a size larger than your normal size will protect you from shoe bites and will give your feet enough space to breathe.
Do we need to carry an extra pair of shoes for a 8-9 days high altitude trek? I know it's heavy and consumes much space, but what if the shoe breaks midway on the trek, at an altitude high up?
Book an upcoming 2024 trek with us: rb.gy/tm7ssl
Please add one more tip, NEVER bring a new shoe to a trek. First use it for few days at your home to avoid blisters.

Facts ☝👍👍👍
How many days it should be used in home before going to trek if you have only some days in hand?
Thanks for making video in hindi .
On the shoe size, some cold weather treks may require double socks to be worn and as a result the shoe size should have enough room for this wear.
Which cold weather treks..like?
