I never compared myself to them. I was just recalling a moment. I realize they're used to the terrain, at the same time I also realize the importance of trekking shoes. Take it easy ✌️
Marvellous job on the audio and visual quality in producing this, one comment I’d make is that while your comments are valid on the sort of hiking shoes one should wear while trekking for days on end, it comes back to the wearer’s preference because I hiked the Kokoda trek for about 8 days and wore Reeboks which lasted me the entire journey and I’m very thankful that I did not get any serious injuries.
Hi Swathi, good information on the trekking shoes, we are planning to go to Mount Kailash next year and i have started my survey on trekking shoes. Your explanation is really great, good job my dear and keep up the good work...All the best. from Malaysia

Hi Swati, besides the Trek 100, which have the greatest protection against water while trek, are the other shoes available at Decathlon for trekking that aren't as protective against water, as good? There are two other style of shoe's (if my memory is correct) that are made of other fabric then that of Trek 100. Would be great if you did a video on those other shoes in comparison to the Trek 100 if there are differences that are significant Regards Ayub Khan
Suggest some hiking shoes which has grip as well as light weight. I am going to Sandakphu for hiking. I am not used to wear heavy shoes which you are showing. I have pain in my ankle after an accident. So I'm lil bit concerned. And I want to wear it casually some other time as well.

My weight is heavy almost 75-80kgs... So carrying 500gms more won't be a problem... But I really need to know wearing trekking shoes would be good on regular?

thats the difference between shoes and boots - the latter are stiff when new because of harder materials, but after wearing daily for a week, the upper folds where your foot flexes while walking, and from that point they get really comfortable. Also your foot gets used to the boot.
I m using similar sole trek shoes from decathlon, they are slippery in sahyadri specially rock patches during monsoon when algea is formed due to heavy rains
How to breaking into a new pair of shoes? Start wearing it for daily basis will be good enough or should I do small hikes with them before an actual one?
Quecha's Women's warm waterproof snow hiking shoes - SH500 Mid, is it a Good Trekking Shoes for High Altitude Trekking like Annapurna Circuit or Everest Base Camp ?? even in Snow ?
Ma'am you are right there are different shoes for different purpose.. But if I want to know whether trekking shoes can be used for different purpose.. It's all about our single earning money to invest... Trekking shoes cannot be used as running shoes.. But running shoes can be used as trekking shoes its all about ur will power...
Hiking boots absorb more shock from the sole, as well as support the ankle. However, running shoes can also be used, and if one uses inserts (extra inner soles), and thick socks, that can help cushion shocks to some extent. I have even used folded cardboard inside the running shoes. Feet will get more tired though, especially on rocky descents.
Hello India Hikes, I tried on the Quechua Trek 100 after a lot of research but it's sole felt so hard on the feet, and my feet started aching just in 20mins. I wasn't sure if to buy. Unsure if I'm missing out on anything. Please advise.

That's true, if you leave comfort aside, you can trek with any kind of slippers -- even in the early days of Indiahikes, most of us trekked with canvas shoes. But with better gear, your quality of trek rises and you can pay attention to other things around you! :)
You could try doing that. I'm not very sure how comfortable it might be for long days of trekking, where you're walking for 5-6 hours. You can try and let us know too!

Very well explained...all points are imp. I would like to ask you , what kind of socks should wear while wearing trekking shoes. I am sure for winter and summer it’s diff. One more question what size we need to choose. I heard that 1 or 1/2 bigger as foot swallows while walking.
Glad you liked the video. You can wear normal sports socks in your shoes. Definitely not woolen socks. As for the size of your shoes, getting shoes a size bigger is definitely better, to give your toe box enough room for movement while descending.
my first trek will be to Annapurna Base Camp on Aug 25... wondering which shoes to go for... been to decathlon for trek 100 and 500 also. pls provide reviews for them and any more options to choose from...
Hi, we always recommend buying/renting trek shoes one size bigger than your actual shoe size. This will prevent you from hurting your toes while ascending or descending. In addition to this if your toenail is already loose, we would recommend you to cover it with a doctor tape or gauze roll bandage just so that it doesn't come out in between and cause other problems.
Can you please make a review video for Wide Toe Box hiking shoes? Some of us love to trek but with standard hiking shoes and into two hours into the trek they begin to give blisters which makes it very difficult to hike.
