    This was good information. I'm using the Bully vanes and for TAC they flew very well. And the Bully vanes are slightly smaller, like .53 vs .58 of the blazer, which can only help for those longer distances. They are also only 6.5 grains per vane, which is lighter than many other vanes on the market, and only 0.5 grains more than a Blazer even though it's a stiffer material. For whatever reason, it's really hard to find many reviews and information on the Bully vanes, so I'm glad you covered them.

    I've been using max hunter vanes and I've never used the primer pen and never had a problem with them not sticking, most of the time I'll clean the mold release agent off with alcohol but the last arrows i did i just used hot water and a paper towel and they still stuck but I use a different glue, it's for gluing rc rubber tiers to wheels and it works amazing.

    I've gone "all in" with the TAC Driver 2.75" for broadheads and 3D. One of my shooting buds literally folded a vane over on a target, I put it away in the case for a couple days and it restored itself perfectly (except for the black carbon streak!) At our range, the TAC is quickly becoming the primary vane for anyone going beond stock Bohning Blazers.

    Maybe in the future you can do videos on different fletching types like feathers and mylar vanes as well. Especially the latter, it will be good to give thoughts whether mylar vanes is good for hunting as much as it is for competition.

    I shoot the tac drivers 2.75 as well and I absolutely love them! I did get into a soft target and crinkled the vanes, so I set it in the back of my quicker and in a few hours it reset itself back to true. Also there customer support is amazing! I had some issues when I first got them with sticking. But after a few emails and a new jig later I had zero issues with them. Also they where nice enough to send me some more vanes to help me out!

    Really interesting video. I have never thought about that the stiffness of the vane could have an impact, among other at longer distances, downrange speed etc. I have almost allways used Easton Diamond. I guess you would say they are soft?? Or?? The Tac vanes sounds really interesting. Both for my 3D arrows (Bowfire) where I use Easton Diamond 280 and for my outdoor target archery arrows (ACC), where I use Easton Diamond 235. Maybe I should try and switch to Tac in similar sizes to see if they would be better. Interesting.

    Hey friend!! I'm north in PA WA.
    I like what you said about the tac driver shield.
    I am new so I'll just do the 2.75 this year.
    I want to fletch my own.
    My bow spins the arrow left so I am going to fletch left.
    Will one of the plastic fletchers work with these? It has that ring that slides down the arrow to basically clamp it?
    And do you have one?
    It's going to be at 3 or 5 degrees.
    Probably 3.
    Thanks for the info.
    We new shooters don't want to see 25 different veins we have to think about making a choice from we just want to see like 3 and you tell us what we need to do until we get better. Perfect video for this new bow hunter.

      @WM-jy9dz 2 роки тому +1

      I had no problems with the 2.25" ones, however, the 2" ones on a micro diameter shaft are a little bit tricky (I use a 1.5 deg offset) as the base is very narrow and if I don't take care they slide back into the clamp, or if I don't push hard enough they only partly stick to the shaft.

      @WM-jy9dz 2 роки тому +1

      I guess it also depends on shaft diameter and off set / helical - for a straight vane I can't see any issues with them (I use loctite primer). The problems I encountered was that for a micro dia shaft and some off-set it is hard to push the whole base to / around the shaft due to their stiffness and the small base for the 2 ones (had no issues with 2.25"). For the next batch I will try to "pre-heat" them in my food dryer, lets see whether they become more flexible if warmed up a little bit.

    I used the stealth for over a year and the constant tears were so annoying. Changed to tac vanes and you hear them clip each other but have yet to damage one.
    I cleaned the tac vanes with isopropyl alcohol and NO primer, then glue. Haven't had a si gle one fall off so I'm assuming there is some coating that the primer pens remove. But the alcohol done it just as good but cheaper.

    Do a speed test video I fletched some aae hybrids the big ones 26 I think not important I did a 4 fletch left helical and offset they had a hell of a twist on them stabilized well but hurt speed a lot people talk about drag but I haven’t seen a good video on the speed difference between all the vanes 3 fletch vs 4 fletch also. Something like that would make an awesome video I was like 271 with my LH helical and 283 with a slight right hand helical but my test wasn’t scientific at all

    The TAC primer pen plunger kept sticking in the fully depressed position and the primer would spill out everywhere. Total pain in the ass.

    So I replaced the 2" Blazers on my Victory V force 400 arrows with 4" wraps and 2.75 Tac drivers. I used my Bitzenburger RH helical clamp and successfully fletched 10 arrows no adhesion issues and they look great. I shot them today and was right on (x ring) at 20 but at 50 they are hitting about 8 " low!
    I added less than 10gr to these arrows and with the claims of increased down range speed I expected to hit higher and have to tighten up my pins but just the opposite happened. If you're setting up a competitive 3d bow, then you wouldn't want to use a small diameter arrow. Youd want to shoot a 23, 25, or 26 diameter carbon arrow tjat has line catching ability. With that arrow you'd want to run a larger profile vane like the Tac Driver 2.75 to help stabilize the larger shaft. But for a shoot like Tac where the average shot is 55+ and wind is a factor, you want a small diameter arrow with lower profile vanes

    Just a thought I haven't shot bow for 10 years shoulder injury but when I last shot I was using think they were called vortex armor piercing super small dia. and I think fletch was 1.75 in long but I spaced them out 1/2 in apart so they overall spaced 2.75 in length down the shaft . They were an experiment to find arrows that were less affected by wind quieter and maintain better velocity as far as my tests went it worked on all accounts this was for 3d and my last 3 tournaments were shot with these arrows. All this was after a call I had with an ex NASA scientist he said the 1.75 in spread over the 2 3/4 in would act like 2.75 in correction but only drag like 1.75 accuracy was if anything as good or better at distance and I shot all groups at 70 yards never did get to chronograph time run out for me I am 70 now gimped shoulder. Would be neat to see someone else try this or maybe someone has for what it is worth ,a wind gust has almost no affect on these arrows

    I forget who was talking about it, but somebody proved that it's actually the arrow that spooks the animal and not the bow. It was a guy who was sitting in his tree stand and whenever he had does or small bucks he didn't want to shoot he would shoot at a Target he had set up in the other direction to see if the bow noise would spook the deer and there was no reaction at all. So it seems as though it's the deer reacting to that Arrow coming towards them rather than the firing of the bow itself

    How do you decide on left or right or straight angles?

    • @InsideOutPrecision
      @InsideOutPrecision  8 місяців тому +1

      Can’t go straight, the arrow has to spine. But generally you want to mark a bare shaft and shoot it at like 10 ft to see which way it wants to rotate naturally, the n fletch accordingly

    • @InsideOutPrecision
      @InsideOutPrecision  Рік тому

      @@randy122 it’s function is to smoothly transfer the air to the larger part of the vane that helps stabilize the arrow. If you cut it there will be a flat sharp edge that will flow and make noise as well as cause unstable flight. You would save maybe 4 grains by trimming it, which is nothing, but will sacrifice accuracy. I’d leave it to the engineers to vane design haha

    Question? Why wether it be a bow an arrow 🏹 kill or a rifle kill on any hunting show say on the outdoor channel whether they are in box blind or tree stand after they have shot there deer or elk why do they whisper with camera man or if there with a buddy .the hunt is complete there gonna go retrieve there kill so why the whispering?I don't see what a few more decibels or the average speaking volume I could understand if they were gonna keep hunting but why the whispering if there calling it a day? Anything with a black base on the vane is a Q2i vane. The duo polymer process makes fletching and refletching much easier and faster too. Let me know if I can help get them in yalls shop. I know those guys pretty well and I'm sure you guys would sell a lot of them.
