Since the microfiber cloth didn’t work, try using an old cotton t shirt to dry your hair instead. It works the same in that it’s much more gentle on the hair than a regular towel, and reduces frizz :) 💜

It’s funny how people think the only thing she does is “care for her hair”. Do people think she has to share everything she does in her life on here? It’s just a youtube channel & she’s making a hair care series. This is a video about hair..what do you expect? Just because she puts effort into making the videos doesn’t mean she’s obsessed with her hair. She’s just trying new things out! To everyone getting mad at her for saying “curly” and not “wavy” - you do realise that waves are a curl type???? Technically she would be more correct saying wavy but curly isn’t 100% inaccurate and it’s honestly not a big deal how she chooses to refer to her hair. It’s her hair. Her words. Not yours. Doesn’t impact you in any way shape or form so just... get over it.

I agree that the “curly” spectrum usually refers to the whole spectrum of texture, from the loosest waves to the tightest coils. So in that way, waves are definitely curls. However, there is a reason for the distinctions between straight to wavy to curly to coily or kinky, and I hope most people were just trying to inform. Waves are curls, loose curls! But they are loose, and I’m not offended by anyone trying to differentiate or make spaces for kinky, coily, more Afro-like curls as well as the looser waves and everything in-between by calling them different things to support specific spaces for all curls.

In general, the shorter your hair, the more curl it will have. When it is longer, the weight of your hair pulls the curl down. I suggest never ever using a brush. Finger combing is best, but if you really feel you need a comb, buy one with very wide spaces and hefty teeth. It is less likely to pull on your hair. Wishing you well.

Wavey hair is NOTHING like having straight hair, but it’s also NOTHING like having curly hair. Lol people need to chill, took me forever to figure out that my super poofy frizzy “straight hair” was actually waves, and I couldn’t use the same products as my straight haired friends/mom. I also tried to follow curly gurl method of people with very curly hair and that just made my hair have more wave then before but was super heavy and flat, but was definitely a lot better then frizzball and breakage. Took a little while to tweak it to make it right for me, and was a little awkward for the 2/3 months it took for my waves to come back, but stick with it it’s worth it! I love my waves now and am so glad I finally figured shit out. If you have super frizzy “straightish” hair and can’t figure out why, ie not damage or anything, def try out curly gurl method and tweak it to what works for you, literally changed my life, I’m so much happier with my hair and it’s so much happier with me, and saved me so much time! All I have too do now is spray some water on it in the morning add a little bit more product and I’m good to go.

Okay. So I also have type 2b/2c hair. I've been doing the curly girl method for maybe 8 months and had great results and I think I have a few pointers (haven't seen your more recent videos so I don't know if you've implemented these or not).
    1. I always "plop" my hair for at least 10 minutes to dry it - you can look up tutorials for this. You can use either an old t-shirt (what I use) or a microfiber towel. After that you can either scrunch your hair with what you used to plop it or just let it down and leave it (what I do). In my experience scrunching afterwards gives smaller more defined curls while just plopping it leaves it in bigger but curlier curls.
    2. I personally air dry and I like using mousse, but from what I know about diffusing, if you're diffusing with gel you should blow it around your hair first without touching the hair to set the gel and then go ahead and scrunch diffuse it. To really get the full result of diffusing you should probably get it completely dry with diffusing - I've seen girls let it mostly air dry and then diffuse it, I think the important part is getting it to the final stage with diffusing.
    3. I also struggle with the front strands not being as curly. For me the big thing has been making sure I tuck them in properly when I'm plopping them, not touching them while they're drying, and allowing them to hang in front of my shoulders while trying not to disrupt them as they dry.
Sorry for the length but I'm glad to see you've been going for the curly girl method, hopefully one of these tips is somewhat helpful!

@@anika5094 You can put in a leave in conditioner or something before you plop (or after), but any mousse or gel should go in after you plop. This is because you're supposed to 'rake' leave in through your hair, but with a gel or mousse you need to scrunch your hair up to help the curl structure and plopping after gel would break up the curls

i have a few tips as a curly girl myself: 1.the micro fiber isn’t used to really dry... first add your products while your hair is SOAKING WET then put the micro fiber towel on to absorb excess moisture. 2. when defusing dry it first to set the gel then use it to scrunch your hair then go in with your hands and
a pick 3. use a denmin brush for max definition 4. use a bonnet or silk pillow case for less frizz. 5. don’t wash your hair often bc it’s going to keep getting oilier. oils are good but you need to basically train your hair. 6. don’t touch it so much bc it will get frizzy. 7. wash and style UPSIDE DOWN for volume.

Luiza finally someone said it .-. I don’t even think it’s that wavy, my sister has light wavy hair, almost straight. Judging by isabellas roots, I think her hair is honestly just a bit fluffy or bunched up around the mid to end of her hair, which is normal because she sleeps on it. As someone with naturally curly hair it almost makes me cringe seeing her go all out not realizing she’s just curling her hair without an iron xD (my sister does the same thing so I thought it was cute seeing someone else do it too). To my knowledge there are different types of straight hair, yes different types, also associated with genes too. I saw a picture explaining the hair shaft somewhere with different races, kind of why asians have pin straight hair naturally, and white girls tend to have hair like Isabella, still straight but not as straight. A bit fluffy and more volume.

If I dont do all he steps my hair will just be frizzy, and look like a cotton ball with minimum curls and I wont like it as much.but with products and extra strps, it's a whole different story.
That doesn't mean "I'm forcing it" though, I'm just enhancing and encouraging my curls to their maximum...its kinda what isabella is doing with all these steps. shes just encouraging her hair to curl instead of just letting it poof or fall down in frizzy waves.

Her hair has been straight her whole life, scientifically speaking hair texture is that of how it grows out of the follicle and how the follicle is shaped. Her hair isn’t curly until/unless she does all of that extra stuff to it. That’s like me straightening my hair without heat and being like “well, I didn’t use a straightener so my hair must be naturally straight”

As A hairstylist with Curly hair my routine goes something like this:
Wash & Conditon with Aveda Cherry Almond shampoo & Conditoner
Leave some conditoner In my hair. The texture of curly hair is naturally dry so it requires more moisture.
I dry my hair with a regular towel and squeeze out excess water. Lift and seperate each wave, GAMECHANGER PUT SOME LIGHT HAIRSPRAY IN YOUR HAIR!! SMALL AMOUNT!!SOUNDS MENTAL BUT IT WORKS!! SETS THE CURL WITH A LIGHT HOLD. ( I use Aveda air control) then followup and put a gel or curl cream in the palm of your hand ( I use Aveda Confixer or Be curly style prep) Use a good amount of your scrunching abilities , you should be lifting the hair putting the ends of your hair in your palms, bringing it up to your scalp and scrunching until your satisfied, then you DIFFUZZZEE! depending on your hair type it should only take you 5-7 min on a high heat low speed! Frizz is the enemy. To achieve volume dont be afraid to take the bristels from the diffuser and gently massage it into your roots in big and small circular motions. it wont hurt to do this because your moving around the natural oils in the hair and your creating volume through back and forth movement with the diffuser. Do a COOL shot for a minute with the diffuser in order to SET THE HAIR.you should dry your hair to 80% Only. 100% will loosen the curl, create heat damage and frizz and static. to finish up I use a bit of Dry shampoo on the roots only, in my hair to create more volume & prevent my hair from getting oily ( Aveda Shampure) Then heat relief to protect from damage and frizz. This sounds like a lot but its my morning routine and it takes me 10 min tops lol I work at an Aveda salon thats why I use the products I hope this helps

I’m so excited for you Isabella! This took me back to when I started my curly hair journey. There’s a lot of (sometime conflicting) information out there and it’s all a little overwhelming in the beginning, but it’s also really fun and you will slowly learn what works or doesn’t for your curls. I definitely encourage you to continue the CGM, you have, without a doubt, wavy hair and I know it will become more beautiful than you’ve ever expected! After your curls have reached their peak, you will become a lot more comfortable using silicones, sulfates and heat because you will know how your curls work, but def stick to cgm for now. And keep us updated, I love your videos! 💕

I’ve had the exact same type of hair as yours for over 20 years. It honestly just becomes a form of acceptance. I love the methods you used. I use those also except if I want my hair presentable going out or look smooth pretty. I actually have to run a wand over just the top portion of my head to give the outer frizz definition waves. Not all the time but it does look a lot better and easier than straightening or curling all the hair. Just a messy wave look is really pretty. You’ve got beautiful hair enjoy while you’re young sweetie. 🙏🏻😊❤️

When your hair is dry- don't be afraid to shake out that gel cast! First, when you scrunch in gel, make sure you're going all the way up to the roots of your hair, and then when you scrunch it out do the same!
Then-- don't be afraid to put our hands underneath your hair and shake out the hair near the scalp to get rid of any weird shapes. This will also frizz your hair a bit... but that frizz IS where your volume comes from!!

Like I’ve got thick, very frizzy hair, Like I’ve tried nearly every shampoo, spray, hair cream and even then it’s still really frizzy. And also so parts of my hair go wavy and then there are some parts where there are literal curls. Like ringlets by my ear while the rest is dead straight. Idk what to do with it because i can’t blow dry or straighten my hair because it makes the frizzy even worse in the end :’)

I know you said you've tried a lot of products but have you considered using a more scalp nourishing shampoo/conditioner? I had the EXACT same problem as you for a while. When my hair had just been washed it would turn super dry and frizzy/poofy with ringlets by my ears and at the back of my neck. But if I didn't wash it for a while it would smooth out into beachy waves and basically become another type of hair entirely. The solution was to find hair products that nourish dry scalps and hair.

I would love to have my curls back. As a toddler I had ringlets. The older I got the longer my hair got, my hair would be straight at the top and loose ringlets at the bottom. And then they were gone. Puberty hit, I cut my hair to shoulder length and hello my hair got wavy. It might have been curly had I known what to do. At some point it was straight again. Then I got pregnant. My hair started behaving badly, as in frizzy wavy. I miscarried and there was my straight hair again. Now I'm 27 and have a almost 1 year old. Straight, slightly wavy, no frizz and ringlets at the back of my neck and around my ears.
How is it even possible to have ringlets and straight hair...?! What do you guys think could I have curly hair and that my hair didn't get the 'memo'? I seriously have a thing for curly hair it is absolutely lovely.
