getting into blender again since I have been mainly on the programming side of things and this tutorial is so quick and easy to follow, thank you for getting to the point and being very clear, a lot of tutorials vie tried watching I just couldn't follow as they just felt so convoluted, you are clear and precise with what you are doing and this was so nicely done!
I've been wanting to do this project for a while now. It looked really fun and creates some cool assets. Finally, I am working on it and I'm having a blast, AND learning how to use Blender. Love it, thank you!!!
Oh Great! Programs like this already tend to bring out the kid in me - and now I'll be doing the equivalent of building Hot Wheel City on the living room floor! But at least mom & dad won't be tripping over it this time... Thanks Ryan - your tutorials are always fun!

Great tutorial, definitely leaving a like however I would suggest making it more beginner friendly, when I first watched this I was rather confused and I would have a hard time teaching this to someone else. Besides that, awesome tutorial, keep up the hard work!
Great tutorial and great assets. Just few of my remarks: - you use "CTRL +" selection quile rafely. Many times I was able to select faster with that. - do you use also selection using "CTRL + LMB"? This way again, you can select faster, e. g. for seating orange stripes selection this is great. - to set up proper scale, it is possible to insert empty human armatures to get proper scale feeling.
What an excellent tutorial, thanks! Took me about 2 weeks to get through it. Just about all of it, no issue except the bus stop sign, the UV unwrap did not work, I cannot get the imge mapped properly.
Oh I didn't know about that. But I just looked it up on UA-cam. Sounds cool, but I'm very busy growing my online business, so I don't think I will do the challenge.
All going great till the curved road, I have my form of measurement in inches so I had to play with the numbers to get it, what I thought was correct, but it looks slightly off, then agian what roads in this world are good. One side connects perfectly and the other looks a little wonky and the last white stripe isn't quite right. since I'm learning this for 3d printing I should probably put it back to metric and if I have perception problems just calculate it out until I get used to it. Oh and with the curve tool and the gizmo being on I had to click on the "curve with 2 plus signs" to get the menu in the bottom left corner to show up. I'm running Blender 3.1.2. I'm not sure if it's the version or my settings just in case someone else has this issue or reads this before you start the tutorial, it will be best to keep it in metric.
Dear Ryan. I have been following your Tutorials for a very long time and I think it is absolutely great and clear. But I really have a problem with the bend, I do exactly what you do. And with the straight road and the Wireframe on, Box select and then 2 Meter and then the other setting at -1, after segments 10. But all faces remain on top of each other. And when I check Face Orientation all my Normals are screwed. Even if I move above 2 meters to create some space in the Spintool, I keep the Z Fighting. Recalculating Normals also doesn't help. Do you have any advice? I made ten attempts. Disclaimer: the rest of the roads turned out well. Just some Z Fighting and flipped Normals with the Pedestrian Crossing Stripes. But that's an easy one to solve myself, I think. I recorded it with OBS, can I show it to you somewhere? (it is quite a traffic jam for a short video) I hope you are willing and able to answer? I am currently coming from Blender 3.6 LTS and I am currently working on 4.0. I once started in 2.79.
@@RyanKingArt Thanks for getting back to me, What it turns out is Linux with the cinnamon Desktop has the Alt key set for window sizing so I changed that to the windows key and shut down add-ons that I wasn't using and now it's working, plus a few other things like bevel are now working.
Thanks for the video, it helps a lot. One Question: I did the traffic light, but my red, yellow and green aren't that shiny. Is it because i use a different render engine?
Another Question, I'll probably have a few as time goes on. When you loaded the HDR image and went down to Film and hit transparent you have a background of a little checkerboard, yours is faint and small mine is large and very visible so it's distracting, is there a way to change that. Also why did you load the Hdr image in the first place, Lighting is my best guess
@@RyanKingArt you are creating new mesh object in edit mode instead of creating new object everytime. doors, windows, boxes on the roof are the same object, instead of separate objects
Hello, I am attempting to do the Front Windshield of the car using the mirror mod and when I go to turn the Border off, it does not affect the Inset. It appears the same as if the border was on. Using version 3.1.2. Can you or anyone else assist please? UPDATE Found out the issue: If you turn off the mirror mod and see a face on your original object, you must delete the face(s) and then it will work as instructed in the video.
What if I want to export them into game engine, how can I export these object materials? What can I do when they have more than one materials. Thank you so much sir
You can bake the materials to texture maps. Or you can make a texture, with different colored areas, and then UV map the parts of the objects to the different colors.

select the UV mapping of the object in the UV editor. then hit S, to scale, X, and then -1. this will flip the UV mapping.
how do I use the spin tool in the latest update, ive punched in the same things as you but it looks deformed?
the color wont change when i select the fire hydrant and try to change the color and this is for both the middle part and the 3 things sticking out

Maybe you or someone here can help but I can not do loop select and no I do not have "3 button mouse emulated", this has been an on going problem.
