Testament's Eric Peterson demos some of his amazing rhythm chops from "Henchmen Ride" and "More Than Meets the Eye" to Guitar player Magazine Associate Editor Matt Blackett.
lol old Alameda Boy my mo was his 7th grade teacher . I remember going to his house on bay farm Island and jamming with him and Derick . Eric and Derick always together lol. Lipshoks says hello to you Eric many years but still we play music lol that's life right there .
I like Eric Peterson now that I got to hear him play. His style is interesting. I love his Dean Old Skull V guitar too. I'm a big fan of Dean guitars. Getting a Dean EVO Special guitar for christmas and then letting my bro have my Dean V guitar.
I hung out with Eric a bit last Summer when they played the Beach. Really cool guy and FUCKIN' A has he really turned on his lead playing. No longer a kick ass rythm player but now a shredder as well!! AWESOME EROCK!!! \m/ \m/ \m/
Im sure he was offered wood options when designing, but it might not be his priority or he might not figure most other guys give a hang. Alex was pretty into his woods on his Gibson, which I'd love to try. He wanted the heaviest mahogany, & thick necks! I'd love to have one of them... ;)
I am convinced the people with immense talent never ever get recognized for it. I doubt they care, but as fans, we do. Metal rules. Everything else sucks. 🤘
+Jantes Inferno mainly I like the added string tension. it gives a more precussive tone and feel. I also don't think the neck pickup sounds better on a 22 fret guitar I think 22 frets make it sound muddy and flat.
so your saying that using your fingers to alternate is a bad idea all the time and you can't use it for any riffs at all? just wondering I figured i would ask somebody who would surely know. also I'm trying to teach myself music theory and i have a few questions if you don't mind my friend.
@dmarins I would have to disagree, because the big four are the bands who led the thrash metal movement. Testaments first album didnt come out until 1987. By that time, metallica was already a lot more popular and they were about to release their fourth album. Even though Testament has stayed true to thrash, i dont think they had as big of an impact on the world than Metallica.
A guitarist that never gets the props he deserves, always stands in skolnicks shadow. You're awesome Eric, a true master of heavy music!
NONE of those Testament albums got written without Eric no question.
I'm suprised he hasn't played more lead guitar on the Testament albums. That soloing in the beginning proves he's a competent lead guitarist.
One of the best riff writers in metal history!!
Eric Peterson is the man!...My favorite guitar player.
most underrated rhythym guitarist ever, testament rock!
Eric has Created many of the Iconic Bay Area Riffs of All Time!🤘🏻✨🔥
Incredibly solid rhythmically. He perfectly fulfills his task in the band.🤘🤘
i fucking love the way he holds his pick. so powerful. amazing guitar player. really underrated
Underrated indeed - not unlike one of my other favorite guitarists, Criss Oliva (RIP).
What a machine! Respect!
Eric Peterson Is One Of A Kind Everyone Loves Him
Man, he's an incredible guitarist. I still believe how many people underrate him.
This is really cool thanks for sharing
I love that riff from the persecuted wont forget. One of testaments greatest guitar riffs ever IMO.
lol old Alameda Boy my mo was his 7th grade teacher . I remember going to his house on bay farm Island and jamming with him and Derick . Eric and Derick always together lol. Lipshoks says hello to you Eric many years but still we play music lol that's life right there .

Eric Peterson did a great job on his side band Dragonlord too...
Super player and song/riff writer, long live Testament
The first time I heard Eric I said he's playing the guitar to sound like drums. Now he is telling everybody that is exactly what he is doing.
HOLY SHIT THE BEST SONGS OFF THE ALBUM ARE ALL IN THIS VIDEO
eric peterson is the man!
He seems like such a nice guy, it's cool.
I fucking love testament. Henchmen ride is just SOOOO groove driven..... favorite off the album besides the persecuted wont forget
henchmen ride is so sick!!!!
i was practically drooling during them riffs
You can hear the Skolnick influence in this.
What a great playing! \m/
Looks like Eric's been hitting the Yayo man

Does anybody have/know the Testament - More than meets the eye rhythm tabs?
I'll never forget the Trial By Fire intro

eric needs to do some solos in these songs
I hung out with Eric a bit last Summer when they played the Beach. Really cool guy and FUCKIN' A has he really turned on his lead playing. No longer a kick ass rythm player but now a shredder as well!! AWESOME EROCK!!! \m/ \m/ \m/
If I was the Lord of War, I would have Testament play behind my army as we walked into battle.
Yes.
F'N YA!!!! This is awesome!!!
He's in E-Flat. He was at our school the other day doing a clinic and someone asked.
Awesome!

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO ! ALEX AND ERICK ROCKS!
he looks so tired in the video
he might need to get some sleep LOL
btw: awesome licks, he is in the same level than skolnick
kickassss \m/

lol hes playin this on a marshall mg15. sounds pretty damn good, then again eric could make any amp sound good
thats a good videos
Para mi gusto de los mejores
Should've dialed back the delay so you could hear the riffs better.
❤
fuck that intro solo was dope as fuck!!! sick!!!
he has a monster tone
god he hits those strings hard loll
@CthulhuKK iTS a fender evh van halen signature
Riff machine.
I am convinced the people with immense talent never ever get recognized for it. I doubt they care, but as fans, we do. Metal rules. Everything else sucks. 🤘
It's about what you want to do mate
Fuck yeah i like Dean guitars so much
@electriccrown82 He was playing a few lead type stuff in there too...Testament's an extremely underrated band period, though.
In last albums he already plays solos. 40/60 with Alex.
faster sure is important.....its fucken badass
To the author - is there the second part of this video? 'Coz it says in the title "Testament Eric Peterson 1".
I tried one of his sig guitars out a few times. I've spent about 4 hours with it. It rules, If it had 24 frets I would have bought it over the rr24
+Jantes Inferno mainly I like the added string tension. it gives a more precussive tone and feel. I also don't think the neck pickup sounds better on a 22 fret guitar I think 22 frets make it sound muddy and flat.
Yngwie's music isn't impressive. Not bad, just not impressive. None of it is memorable.
thats some HEAVY PLAYING 02:50
earlier stuff was standard, just like the rest of the world. everyone started going Eb after, about mid 80's.
@caltrof Reverb, my young guitarist, reverb.
anyone no the american price of his signature guitar
the gatering is in D
i never said "EVERYTHING BEFORE THE 80'S WAS STANDARD."
tony iommi was playing is C# back in the day.
神ですな
I don't know if he uses it in this video, but he uses the new EVH amp with some delay and that's pretty much it, haha.
so your saying that using your fingers to alternate is a bad idea all the time and you can't use it for any riffs at all? just wondering I figured i would ask somebody who would surely know. also I'm trying to teach myself music theory and i have a few questions if you don't mind my friend.
@dmarins i agree with you on that they never made any shitty albums but metallica sells ticket no matter how bad there new releases are
fucking insane !!!
If you watched the video, it looks pretty good for shredding haha
Fick yeah man
I love his style. Too much delay on his tone otherwise awesome.
Testament has like, the baddest fucking players. :D Ericisabeast!!! :O
i think he drank too much of red bull, he`s a little bit nervous and excited :D
🇨🇱🔥🇨🇱🔥🎵😊👑
looks like a marshal in the background
@dmarins

Does anyone know what amp he's using?
anyone know what tuning this is in
What's E flat
Eb. Testament always plays in Eb
i think its the little marshall u see in the bakground
0:27 That's the craziest alternate picking I ever saw. He uses no wrist whatsoever.
Eric wants to back to sleep. He tired. 😎🎸🎸
@donSparda in my opinion Metallica exists until the black album, after that is another band
holy shit when he tremolo picks, he uses his fingers, not his wrist
how is that guitar for shredding?
what brand of amps does he use?
Stephen Brindley EVH 5150 lll
where is the full adress?
@arabianmetalhead99 Tom Araya is chilean! :D
Got enough Eco on that amp their Eric. Jesus Christ thats more than Paul baloffs vocals on bonded
