    I really like the bare metal look on that LP229. It is my all time favorite cowbell and I'm seriously thinking about stripping off the paint on mine. I noticed a cowbell I bought when I was 16 has decreased by a pitch in the 8 years I owned it. Haven't found a way to set it up cause I only had a kick mount for it, I don't like mounting things on my bass drum anyways, and that interfered with my double bass technique. I try to set it up on cymbal rods every now and then, but haven't figured out a way I can set it up for crazy fills yet.

  • @Ribbityibzki

    My dad has been a blacksmith for 40 years. To get the brass finish the metal has to be heated to almost a full red, and just use a brass hand brush. No need for power tools. A handful.of swipes and it has a pretty rich coating.

    Rust solution.
    Cooper sulfate (zep root killer) one jar.
    Battery acid. One QT
    5-20 (start with 10 ratio)gallons water.
    (Adjust measurements to meet desired quantity)
    Dissolve copper sulfate in water and acid 24-48 hours. Instant rust/steel patina.
    Changing ratios and application temperature and lengths will dramatically change results but they will all instantly rust steel in a controlled manner. Start with wet steel and rinse of as soon as it does its thing. Like 1-5 seconds.

      Looks like blue koolaid. Will kill you if you drink it. I make a bunch to keep handy for rusting steel instantly.

    • @joedoherty1062
      @joedoherty1062 4 роки тому

      You won't be able to get the tension necessary, and it'll sound like absolute trash.
      Just get new heads. You dont have to replace the reso heads unless you want to. Or what i did when I was a kid, I flipped my heads and beat through the stock reso heads since I didn't have money to replace them lol. Your drums will sound different, but Phil Collins didn't use reso heads, so its not the end of the world.

    Sounds like someone was listening to ZZ Top and Frank Beard specifically the song "manic mechanic". Look it up if you don't know it you'll be surprised...

    I was just chillin watching this video, but the jam at the end is fuckin great. The whole kit sounds great, and a really fun tune! Do you put up your jams for stock music anywhere?
