Which bell did you like the best?
Your video quality gets better and better! You should do a full studio tour. Cheers from another drummer !
I really liked the rusted and bare metal bell. Would put a little bit of tape on the inside to dampen it a bit
I am a drummer!i love your videos they are fun to watch and i learn a lot from them.keep blasting
Rusty. Do the brass more. Leave the rust compound on longer?
The rusty one, lower tones & looks that only a antique dealer would love! lol
Make a converting a bass drum to a snare drum video 😂😂
Hahaha
Yes.
Watch on Bang!Drums channel 20x6 snare video
At least you wouldnt need a snare stand?
Or convert a snare drum into a bass drum lol

I was expecting to hear a "dudes" in there somewhere....
Fortissimo cowbell!!
A true Harry Miree fan

“Not the Good Ugly” 🤣
Relatable
Never thought David would call me out like that smh
I think I know her sister.
From Cow-Bell to Wow-Bell!
As in Wow! That thing is rusty.
I actually prefer the sound of it after you "ruined" it!
Just wanted to say that your playing sounded especially super on this one. Loved that groove and the fills were very creative and well placed!
I like the rusted bell the best. I feel like the original is too pronounced (for my taste, anyway). The bare metal is my least favorite.
I like mine taped to death😂😂😂
I agree
IIRC the brush technique is trying to mash the two metals into a weak alloy, basically just cramming bronze grains in between the grains of the steel
Well man, that was f*cking groovy. I enjoy how your drumming skills developed. I listened from the beginning till the end.
Your production quality has just skyrocketed! Stoked to see the channel grow, cheers!
This was one of my favorite videos of you playing! Tasty fills!
Always love your videos, so informative, entertaining and well done. I love that snare and ride, and especially enjoy that you're playing more on your videos and cutting loose a bit. Excellent playing and rock solid groove. Thanks for sharing!
Did you bought another 18 floor? For the silver kit?
😎
The sound of the rusty cowbell is by far my favorite; the muted woody sounds matches well with the drum heads/tuning
the jam/track you made for this video is awesome!! super groovy!
Loved that drum groove. Sounds alot like Tommy Guerrero. Good stuff man.
I really like the bare metal look on that LP229. It is my all time favorite cowbell and I'm seriously thinking about stripping off the paint on mine. The rusty look is cool also but for my taste it sounds too dull now. Thanks for that great experiment here & all the other informative videos on the channel 👍
Needs more cowbell! lol. Sorry, I'll let myself out.
Damn, you beat me to the punch
Yes. Please leave.
Great Sound!!!! Congratulations
What's the track you played along to called? Super groovy
The new voice-over style kinda reminds me of a sitcom or a comedy movie type of voice-over but it fits in so perfectly especially with the music!!!
Definitely gotta go with the "ruined" CB.....................one of your best grooves brother!!!!
Great performance! 🙌
Making it rusty really took a lot of the high end out of it. And i like that
I wanna see this played on Timbales!
Awesome job! Now I’m wondering what other items could be used and played the same way for a cool, loud effect sound besides a cowbell and woodblock 🤔
Looks and sounds awesome,great job.
I Love your vids! I learned so much.
I have a build idea for you! Make a nesting drum kit! Where the shells sit inside of each other. Not like a suitcase set but like a Russian doll set
4:40 really wish it was possible to get these pants in the merch store.......... you might be suprised as to how good they might do !!! Keep up with the amazing beats !!! Keeps me toe tapping !!! 🙂
I noticed those sneakychops. Mmmm chops.
You are the man Dave. My favourite youtuber atm 🤙
Always good content!
Awesome David. I loved the rusty cowbell.
My new favorite thing in life is setting the playback speed to .5x and listening to inebriated David do his Thang.
nice beat keep up the great work
Love your videos!
The paint stripper is giving me Ghostbusters II flashbacks.
Like it, and you're groove playing!!😊
Keep up the good videos David
Tight groove man!
I play the same Metallic White Imperialstars. Nice choice!
Your playing is really nice
can you please do a tom tuning tutorial. your toms always sound really good.
Take a fine tip acetylene torch and try doing case hardening patterns on it. Also order up some Birchwood Casey cold blue and try that out.
That kick sounds fucking amazing
You should've done some hand hammering on it! I was waiting for that. I bet it would sound amazing 🤓
Nice to see the Tama's getting some love.
Next do the same for those shiny earthworks mics
Definitely like the Rusty One. I usually have to put some rubber or foam or duck tape in or on the bell to achieve to dryness you got on the Rusty One.
I still want you to try solder flux
Try rectorseal C-flux will make it look cool af if you heated it then used a flux brush and flux
Sounds like someone was listening to ZZ Top and Frank Beard specifically the song "manic mechanic". Look it up if you don't know it you'll be surprised...
The best cowbell I ever had I got from my grandfather's old barn and it had actually been a cows bell... I didn't even remove the homemade but clanker...just taped it down and put the bell on a stand...great sound
In 2001 I went on a tour of the LP cowbell factory in New Jersey. To my surprise half of the factory made coffin liners and the other half made cowbells from the leftover scraps of the coffin liners.
I actually think the rusty, while a bit dead-er, sounds great and it looks awesome too! Tight jam, this video rocked.
Finished the video already
You watch it at 1,000x speed? lol
rdavidr your videos are just too good
I love how the Evans heads didn't even get played and switched to Remo.
That jam was AWESOME !
as he was playing i was waiting for a must when playing a cowbell kick drum triplets
Please tell me what ride that is! I absolutely love it 😍
That jam was epic. It nearly cured my fever.
Great video David. I liked the rusty version better. Hey I want to strip off the tribal finish on my snare drum. Can I use that brass wheel, or what would be best? I just want it bare metal like Alex Van Halen's snare plus I love the drum and hate the tribal pattern. Please advise.
David: puts music behind drum sample
Me: wait that's illegal.
That funk jam was nice, still waiting for you to go berserk and start wailing on it like the intro to G'n'R "Nighttrain"
That cowbell looks good rdavidr you did a good job :)
Quality content as always dude 👌 gotta have that cowbell. I know it's not what u usually do but I was wondering if you could do a drum cover of the song 'aja' by steely Dan, It's a great drum track and I think it would suit your style.
I was just chillin watching this video, but the jam at the end is fuckin great. The whole kit sounds great, and a really fun tune! Do you put up your jams for stock music anywhere?
So can you tape out a design on steel and use the rust juice to rust the metal around the tape like spray paint?
Next time try copper and steel patina acid for stained glass mixed with some water. Gives a great look can be clear coated if you want or left raw to change. Sick beats
I work in a steel mill and we make a bunch of different kinds of steel alloys. There is a big difference from one grade of steel to the next. They all react differently to corrosion.
I did that rust juice to a reproduction m1 helmet and it rusted it good
More cowbell, I gotta have it!
Looking so cooler now. Vintage aged cowbell
Quietly waiting for the huge multi-cowbell rack.
Hey David have you ever wondered making your own drum heads and all that stuff
He is that one kid that always played with the chemicals in science
I like the fact that you didn’t clean your pants for the testing part, it keeps it real, and that’s why we all love ya david
Nice! How about the playalong that U played?
Your drumming absolutely killed in this!
I noticed a cowbell I bought when I was 16 has decreased by a pitch in the 8 years I owned it. Haven't found a way to set it up cause I only had a kick mount for it, I don't like mounting things on my bass drum anyways, and that interfered with my double bass technique. I try to set it up on cymbal rods every now and then, but haven't figured out a way I can set it up for crazy fills yet.
When are you going sell some more kits?? I need an rdavidr original !
Corrosion of Conformity cowbell! Sounds killa!🤩⚡🤘
Rusted sounds nice. it seems like you could probably change the sound to how you like when mixing
Keep it up!
My dad has been a blacksmith for 40 years. To get the brass finish the metal has to be heated to almost a full red, and just use a brass hand brush. No need for power tools. A handful.of swipes and it has a pretty rich coating.
Yay another video.
Did you do specific ratio for the Rust Juice? Or just whatever felt right?
I've done it for an m1 helmet I forget the mixture but its 16 ounces 70% hydrogen peroxide, 16 ounces of apple cider vinegar and mix it with a tablespoon of salt
Bare metal was surprisingly my favorite. This was a cool project. LOVED THE TRACK
Did you add any type of clear coat to 'protect' the new finish from further corrosion?
Do a video of how to dirty up cymbals
The raw steel cowbell looks the best. I'd probably go with that visually - but I'd try some clearcoat to darken up the sound.
David can I perhaps get a vid where u break down the beat in this or even just sheet music for it? I rlly would love to play it, I love Cowell beats
Much more appealing sound after you “ruined” it.
Now _that's_ a jam on another level....
Always needs more Cowbell. :O
Also.....HIT THAT 18 thooooooooo 😤😤
Is that a Pearl Music City Custom kit in the background at 8:41? Part of a future video, perhaps?
Nice! You've managed to make an Industrial Metal cowbell. Should have played us out with "Head like a Hole" 😂
What it lacks in good looks it makes up with a better sound in the end ! 👌
As someone whos been wanting a bell like this to produce some Latin tracks(virtual cowbells are trash), but doesn't have the extra 50 bucks to buy one; this hurt a little.
