Nobody: Absolutely nobody: Kevin: I don’t have room for this huge plant so I’ll propagate it and end up with a gigantic plant plus a small army of propagations 😂
Oh heck yes! The Jose Buono has been on my wishlist since day one and I finally got one this month!!! Just a baby, but hopefully your incredible Jose Buono family is giving her inspo and growth vibes 🙌🌿
Got my Jose Buono 2-1/2 weeks ago. She’s doing well and has pretty variegation. She’s has large leaves but not monstrous like your mother plant. She is pushing out her second leaf since I got her so she’s growing. I really like her so far.
Thank you so much for this video. I just received a Jose Buono cutting in the mail. It is my first time to receive a bare root cutting but I decided to go for it with the Jose Buono based on your videos on this topic as a guide. It is 100% a wish list plant for me. I think it is a gorgeous plant. I love the different variegation patterns and the sheer size of the plant. I’ve got her in water for now but I think I may try pon! I cannot express how much I appreciate your videos! You brighten my mood with your cheerfulness too! 💚🙏🏼
Thanks for the updates on these! I was originally looking up air layering this plant as I won one of these beauties. When they gave it to me, they told me it was fully rooted. The plant started to decline so I took it out of its pot and discovered it was a cutting that had NOT rooted. So, I chopped it into 3 parts and had 2 stumps (which did not survive). It took me 4 months to root these in water bc the aerial roots were not functional. I'm so thankful the other 3 parts rooted in water, however, it took forEVA. Once they developed enough roots in that I was comfortable putting it in a pot (soil), I did. They are all thriving now and I wanted to air layer prop them this time instead of water prop. It looks to be faster which I'm excited about. So...now the debate....soil, pon, or leca? Hmmm...I have absolutely no experience with semi hydroponics but am excited to try. Thanks so much for the videos on this bad motha!
The Jose is on my wish list still it’s just not been one I’ve found around my area anywhere but I’m patient and one day I will find a cutting or baby to get and grow out.
So sweet that you gave a part of the plant to your mom, even if it wasn’t super variegated hehe. I haven’t seen this plant around too often, and crazy how big it can get!
It’s still on wish lists. Lol I thought trying Pon, then it was out of stock for months, I gave up. I can see a big difference in your plants. 😍 You don’t flush your plants, that’s amazing. 💚
I LOVE mine, and I’m growing it in your nutrient mix and in my cabinet. It sizes up so quickly it’s crazy! I have a friend of mine growing hers in soil and it’s a pretty long vine with small leaves, and that’s just not been my experience in leca.
Gorgeoussss 😍 I have two fairly juvenile joses (couldn't pass up the great prices!) and I'm debating potting them together. I know people don't usually seem to do that with upright philos but I want it to be more bushy and I don't really like having multiples of the same plant (unlike you Kevin 😜). What do you think? Any advice based on your one that has two plants in the same pot vs the others?
Hey! You can totally do that! What I've found is that I have to keep a closer eye on watering because there are more roots in the medium and they dry out the medium faster. Also, it can be a pain repotting or separating in the future.
Amazing success rate!! I love propping plants since I don't have a lot of space, so when the Jose grew super fast, I was really excited to try with mine. I find that they root soooo slow in moss and perlite when they only had a nub for aerial. I almost killed 3 of them and had very little roots after 4 months. The other two had 1inch aerials so they have been pushing out leaves and growing roots no problem. I think going back, I'd airlayer with fluval instead before even trying to cut and prop with small aerials I would try lecca like your method, but too lazy to do the nutrient mixtures 😅😅
I was considering getting the pink princess philodendron but have heard it's unstable, do you think this is the type of variegation to expect from that plant? I love how every leaf on these is a complete surprise! Thanks!
Almost 20k :)) congrats! I've been hovering over my Jose with the scissors but haven't made the decision yet. You might just convinced me it's time :)) I'll tell Jose it's your fault.
Oh yes, the Jose Buono is definitely on my wishlist, I love it. All yours look amazing, even the ones in soil, although they are smaller they still look good. What no leca drop today? 🤣🤣
Such a gorgeous plant! Do you have a Burke Marx as well? I was deciding between them and ended up with the Burke Marx but seeing this video I have regrets
I ordered it a while ago when it was more available from their site. Probably 1 1/2 years ago. You can probably make your own. I unfortunately don't know how to but I think wildfern has a video 💚
I'm dying! Not only was the one you gave your mother the least variegated, but it was also meant to die 🤣(your words, not mine). Also, I know you love chopping up your plants, but I do love that super lush bushy mother plant.
So, wait...you gave your mom not only the least variegated plant, but also one that you didn't think would make it? 😅 Have you given her a Strawberry Shake yet?

When you were considering propogating the mother plant I had such bad anxiety thinking about it... it turned out great!
You have inspired me to not be afraid to propagate my jose buono. Loved this video!

Yassss! I was just looking at your other videos form the Jose buono! So glad I turned in my notifications 🤗 I looooove your channel ❤️
Oh yay!! 💚
Clicked so fast, you and that Jose Buono have a special connection and I love the comedy it provides 🤣

I recently just purchased a Jose Buono, I hope soon I can propagate like you, and I can't wait to multiply her.
Ugh it's so worth it 😊💚 so excited for you ☺️
Wow! What an absolutely iconic plant. Also your shirt is great, that tweed fleck is fantastic.

I know it's so hard to get 😩 lol I never flush except if it's a new plant I transferred from soil.
@@kevin. I thought that was a have too, an seemed it could be a pain having to do it. Pon Leca just became more appealing. Maybe a video? Lol 🥰
they just restocked pon. If you rush you might just get it.
@@horace6851 Thank you 💚
A family of gorgeous beasts! I have to agree with you, the soil ones look a lot smaller!

Hi! Can you do a video about your watering/maintenance of your plants in leca/pon?
I know I should 😩 I'm hoping for next month but we'll see ☺️💚

I am from germany an recently got one for 60 euro. A big mature one. I am so happy.!!
The price of these plants in Canada are huge you are sitting on a serious gold 🥇🪙🥇🪙 mine 😊

I would love to see a video where you take us around on a normal plant maintenance / watering day!
Wow! Great video! Very excellent success! I'd love to have one of these but I'm not sure I have the room!
Kevin, coco coir is actually a medium to use with hydroponics. Perhaps that why yours in that "soil" didn't do as good as the ones in PON.
Probably! 💚 Guess I should've fertilized more!
Yaaay, I was waiting to see that, perfect timing for relaxing bath 😅
Oh yay Marek I hope your bath was relaxing ☺️💚
OMG! So pretty! You do so well with all these plants! Wish I could do the same!

Do you sell some plants locally when you end up having too many?
Such a gorgeous plant! Do you have a Burke Marx as well? I was deciding between them and ended up with the Burke Marx but seeing this video I have regrets
Did u let it callous over before planting the cuttings? For how long if you did?
Beautiful plants! I want to start using pon. Where did you get pon in Toronto? I’ve had a hard time finding it.

Haha ITS TRUE SHE MIGHT DIE. and yeah I like the look of it too
If a philodendron flowers, is the node the flower came from still propagate-able? or is that not good?
What grow lights do you use?
Oh I live. I love giant plants.
I LIVE! 💚

Hi kevin... jst wondering how you fit all those giants in your room? 😅😅.. nyhow, you're awesome! Luv ya already😊🥰
I have good luck in half peat half perlite.
