Laco was founded in 1925 with the desire to create authentic, passionate and precise timepieces. The brand prides itself on building watches of the highest quality. Laco is currently based in Pforzheim in Germany. The brand is incredibly innovative with its forward-thinking technologies but remains faithful to its roots.
The brand’s Pilot watch is the most iconic design in Laco’s portfolio. This range of models is an expression of the brand’s success story. Many of the Pilot’s watches take inspiration from their vintage predecessors with some even being deliberately aged to have the appearance of a genuine classic Laco model. Laco has stayed true to its original designs and aspirations in the creation of this collection of Pilot’s watches.
This model features a blue sunray dial with Arabic numeral indices which have a Superluminova coating.
The hands are filled with C3 Superluminova.
The dial is protected by sapphire glass.
This model features a sapphire glass exhibition case back, allowing the wearer to observe and enjoy the movement.
A sandblasted stainless steel case frames the dial. It measures 39mm in diameter, 11.55mm in height and 18mm in lug width. The watch weighs 134 grams including the strap.
The watch is powered by an automatic Laco 21 Miyota 821A movement.
This model is water-resistant up to 50 metres (5 bar).
The watch is finished with a sandblasted stainless steel bracelet.
I’m not a blue guy as my favorite color is red but i am a huge fan of Laco (wearing one as i type this) and was lucky enough to snag a new Laco Altenburg for $285 a couple months ago. I have always had a fascination with military history, especially aviation and these watches just scratch that itch for me. The Miyota movement in mine is loud due to the unidirectional rotor but it keeps outstanding time at +5sec/day even better than some of my swiss watches. If you are a fan of Fliegers these are a no brainer especially at the price point.

Highly recommend them. I have the Altenburg 42mm and i wear it more than anything else i own. I put mine on a German flag nato strap and it just looks and wears outstanding. Looking to pick up a Laco Atlantik next. I hope you get one!

Had the pleasure of trying one of these on in HK. The dial is absolute insanity. Would definitely have been constantly checking it out throughout the day. For me though, the bead blasting used by Laco here seems off in colour and texture. Does not gel well with the flashy dial

I do have a Laco with the upgrade movement as it has the blued screws and great power reserve , PS thanks for the comment Ed 👍🏻

Hi Barry, as you say a good alternative to the Seiko 5 range. For an extra €55 you can have a better movement, the Laco 31but I don't know what the base is, how good it is or how accurate.
This is an incredible bargain, frankly, and it deserves to do well. What with Bob sporting a Laco (although the Pecquinet is cool, too) it's definitely Laco Night: there are no complaints from me! Thanks Barry, LG Bob 🍻
I like they give you the option of upgrading the movement, The ones I've tested seem good but I do always say they can be regulated buy a watchmaker for very little money if you want spot on. I'm thinking of letting some of my affordable models goes to buy another Laco as I really do like them. All the best matey 👍🏻

I've got it! The Laco 31 is a Miyota 8315. They regulate their movements before final assembly apparently, so it's good news whatever movement you want. The more I find out about Laco the more impressed I become, frankly. The next step is finding out about service in the UK... Have a good weekend m8, LG Bob 🍾🥂
That is a lovely shade of blue on the dial, there is something about the German watchmakers that they have absolutely nailed minimalistic designs with perfect legibility.
Please start featuring some ugly watches - you're giving me far too many temptations!

Very nice watch, I bought the Tissot Seastar 2000 lovely watch, but F & G I must say very poor service, they have terrible customers service.
Thats a shame normally they are good Alan, I have a PVD Tissot Seastar 1000 in for review you may like

why is a pilot's watch as thick as a diving watch... it's so fat that a 7750 chronograph could easily fit
The original Laco Pilot watch was 21mm thick , The movement is almost 6mm thick plus then you have the hand stack of about 2mm the crystal and case back and the clearance between them all
