I post a pic of bulbasaur with my watch several times in the group just to do that joke haha, also I have a bulbasaur looking at m watch collection because of that too
In an old video he deleted or made private, Seiko5 part 2 or something, he had a sporadic scene where he played "Reddy Bulbasaur" pitching his watch straps. It was the funniest piece of watch content on youtube, but it's gone now.
Mr. Baldassare - This is off topic, but your knowledge and videos have always been fantastic, one of my favorite UA-cam channels…. Would you ever consider doing a video regarding how to negotiate (with proper etiquette) a watch purchase at an AD? Do AD’s negotiate watch prices? Is it appropriate, and if so how to go about it? Thank you.
My philosophy is that it never hurts to ask. I was able to snag an extra alligator strap for my Longines at their store in NYC. When you do negotiate though, be prepared to buy.
You are the reason I fell in love with the Max Bill in first place and everytime I see the shots you made of that beautiful masterpiece, I fall in love with it again and again. Thank you for that, Teddy.
I have the same! Thanks to Teddy, I learned about the existence of this watch and fell in love with it. Sometimes I catch myself staring at it for a few minutes delighting in it and watching it work.
@@pawelkrzywicki I have a Form C chronoscope that I am grateful to Junghans for producing. An affordable quartz that I think is absolutely one of the best looking watches I have ever owned.
The things I love most about your channel, is that in these videos you already state in the tile how many brands it is. Plus in f.e. the moon phase watches video and other videos similar you state the rules for how and why you chose watches right at the beginning. That's so helpful for viewing and understanding
Loved the Doxa segment. I would really love a history lesson into some of the oldest watch brands that are still prominent today. Horology is a fascinating and underrated subject.
I really like Doxa, the look and feel of watches along with their storied history. I have the Sub 300 Carbon Aquamarine and it gets more questions and compliments than my GMT Master II.
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
That new Mido is absolutely gorgeous! I have the old ocean star 200 Captain and this new one is just perfect! Mine is too big at 42.5 and I don't mind losing the day complication for a smaller case with an amazing textured dial! Right on the money! Great job Mido!
Impressive! A historical perspective is everything in an Iconic watch. I agree with your presentation of the Junghans brand, it drew me into watch collecting too. As always your knowledge is second to none. Thank You.
Was wondering how Hamilton Intramatic didn’t make the list and then I checked the retail price and was holy smokes 😮 The inflation and price increases really are pushing it. Guess it will be on the next list between 2000-3000$ price range.
Doxa all the way. The case and bracelet finishing is unparalleled at the price range and also the movement is very dependable. It also has great history and is always a unique conversation starter.
Teddy You should organize a trip to Glashtte, with tours of several important factories - the watch Community would love that. It could be an annual adventure- I know I'd sign up.
I love my Max Bill, which the first watch over $1,000 that I purchased. I don't know if it qualifies as "iconic," but the Tudor 1926 is a watch at the top of this range that is tremendous value for money. You've discussed it many times on your channel. For the price, it's very hard to beat in terms of its aesthetics, brand connection, or mechanics.
will you be doing a video on the new mido ocean star 39, looks beautiful in pictures but would like to hear your opinion on it when holding it in person before i make my decision on buying it lol
Bought my SBDC101 jdm sbp143 from Japan. Sure they have their seiko quirks but it wears perfectly and just never gets old. You can wear for everything other than formal.
Absolutely a must that you continue to the next price point! I may know my range of what I’m willing to spend but it’s nice to see what may be just out of range but worth the stretch to obtain. As always, love your videos as they feed the kid like obsession to watches we all tend to have.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
👏🏾 Thanks so much for the history lesson (I love it)! I was drawn to the Diastar (and other Rado models) back in the 90s. I was fascinated with their highly scratch resistant hardened steel technique, which has led me to own tungsten and ceramic watches today. I'm also a fan of Nomos (classic simplicity) and Zodiac (aviation inspired Dragon Wing chrono).
Squale 1521 with Von Buren design case back could have been part of this list, which confirms that ‘60 inspired divers models are still the best market options for today’s brands
@TeddyBaldassarre , awesome video as always. Really appreciate the focus on value for money. I think, however, looking into the pocket watch offerings within this price range (and slightly below) would prove to be interesting.
Very nice put together , just one observation - the Nomos Tangente (that everybody praise for it's design) it's basically a clone of a "Stowa Antea Kleine secunde" or other german watches (like Lange) that used the dials from the supplier "Weber&Baral" in the 1930's (inspired by the Bauhaus school). Soo - I don't know how "Iconic" a 1990's Bauhaus "hommage" watch can be... On the other hand - the Max Bill is spot on !
I love Max Bill art and his legacy in art. It’s so surprising that in the art he’s known for his colourful geometric composition. However for the watches he went b&w to bring attention to the fonts…
Hi Teddy, here are some video ideas for you; how about doing watch manufacturers from different regions? For example, one episode for all watches from South America another episode, all watches from Asia, and another episode, all watches from the Middle East etc?
The Nomos Tangente is an iconic watch for sure. I have owned one, but never could I get used to its strange angulated lugs. The same "lug problem" I have with the Orion: the lugs are bizarrely elongated and sort of triangulanting which spoils the otherwise beautiful watch for me.
I have a black Rado Diastar r5.5 square chronograph blue dial with ceramic case and titanium bracelet. It is an awesome watch. However, that model of Diastar is a little above this videos budget. I got it for 50 percent off at a jeweler in New Orleans that was no longer going to be an AD for Rado. The deal was too good to pass up and I got it for $1600! That price puts it in this category but I'm sure this video is based on MSRP.
Teddy just wanted to ask your opinion on a point of mine.Do you agree with Seiko stamping their watches with the Prospex and Pressage logo?I personally hate it and it is so frustrating because those watches look great. What is wrong with having only the Seiko name on them.I can understand it for the Seiko King and Grand Seiko but not for those.Find it horrible seeing that logo on those lovely looking watches.
Seiko spb 143 this monster on the straps and especially the integrated rubber one, is my only watch that I have worn for 2 years. It is such a great looking watch that when I am interested in watches and I see something else that I could buy, the question always arises "but why?" and I would not wear it anyway.
Just bought my third watch from you ( thank you William B). How about some kind of contest to win a trip to your store and lunch. I’m sure you have tons of fans that would love to talk watches with you. Basically watch collecting is a satisfying but lonely hobby. Of my many friends, none can notice the difference between a citizen quartz and an AP.
I chose you teddy bulbasaur
as a huge pokemon fan and watch collector that was funny
I post a pic of bulbasaur with my watch several times in the group just to do that joke haha, also I have a bulbasaur looking at m watch collection because of that too
Teddy our favourite pokemon

Would be cool for sure
My philosophy is that it never hurts to ask. I was able to snag an extra alligator strap for my Longines at their store in NYC. When you do negotiate though, be prepared to buy.
As a Pakistani, really impressed by your knowledge of the particular reputation Rado holds in the subcontinent - shows your attention to detail

Rado Diastar in gold was always the symbol of achievement in Cambodia - often with local ruby customised bezels and dials.

The Mido is gorgeous....might pick one of those up this summer

I scored a Max Bill 38mm anthracite dial for $600 a few years back. I love it!
Doxa all the way. The case and bracelet finishing is unparalleled at the price range and also the movement is very dependable. It also has great history and is always a unique conversation starter.
Yes please, continue this series.
Great series. Keep em coming
Teddy You should organize a trip to Glashtte, with tours of several important factories - the watch Community would love that. It could be an annual adventure- I know I'd sign up.
Very informative presentation. I appreciate the histories you provided. Thank you.

Bauhaus and Fliegers are right up my alley. The lugs on the Tangente look so much better on wrist.
What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch. Always a pleasure to see mamacoo work your magic. Thanks for sharing this transformation with us!
I really like how you explain things ❤
I bought a 143 a couple of months ago. Can't get enough of it, such a great piece!!!
I guess the MIDO comander should've been included. Maybe in part II
Great stuff. $2000 is probably the top end of what I will eventually spend on my first automatic. So this video will help me on my search. Thanks!
will you be doing a video on the new mido ocean star 39, looks beautiful in pictures but would like to hear your opinion on it when holding it in person before i make my decision on buying it lol

Im feeling the rado diastar looks funky but in a cool way
Look at that! Mido is pulling an "hommage" to the Islander Northport! 😀

Excellent education, as always. Thank you!
Another great video! Thanks
I am still not sold on Seikos over $1,000 even with the 6R35 movement.
+1
Cool story
So glad to see Mido Ocean Star cutting down their size to meet the mid-size range! That's what I've been hoping for for so long.
these are all so beautiful! thank you
Rado was my first love in watches..
Thanks Teddy!
I would consider for this list the Glycine Airman (the bronze one is >$1k) and Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic.
Yes. Nivada Super Antarctic. Great choice.
👏🏾 Thanks so much for the history lesson (I love it)! I was drawn to the Diastar (and other Rado models) back in the 90s. Amazing videos Teddy, Its practically amazing, keep the good work up.
I love new MIDO BB58.
I live in cincy.. my next watch will purchased in person from teddys boutique. Looking at a grand seiko or the omega constellation
Squale 1521 with Von Buren design case back could have been part of this list, which confirms that ‘60 inspired divers models are still the best market options for today’s brands
Great vid as always can you do a review on the Luminox Master Carbon Seal Automatic
Thank you for the video Teddy. Really appreciate it.
I like the style of Junghans Max Bill and Naos, but which one is the better pick?
Wow $1200 for a seiko with a throw away 6R movement.
Very cool SeaLab pic! I see a few NAVY Submariners!
@TeddyBaldassarre , awesome video as always. Really appreciate the focus on value for money.
I think, however, looking into the pocket watch offerings within this price range (and slightly below) would prove to be interesting.
The Hamilton Field Watch in bronze.......phenomenal

The SPB153 is great, completely different from cheaper Seikos, and the 143 will be my next watch.
Awesome! Happy see a Nomos in there. Now do a $2000-3000 video :D
Now Jump!
Teddy can jump when he wants.
How is max bill damen compared to the automatic?

I another great video. But I would love Teddy doing a review on the Hanhart pioneer mk2. A forgotten treasure.
Seiko SPB143 is worth every penny. I love it more than my SJE093.
Continue the series for the sub 1k 🙌
Continue on to the next price point. Very interesting.
Tissot gentleman and Tudor 1926 could have been added
Can't help but notice that your SPB143 has a leaner and pontier hour hand. Is this a limited edition or customized model? :)
I absolutely love that rado
Mido looks the best here....
Keep going 2-3k and 3-5k, 5-8k, 8-10k. I think me and a lot of other people would absolutely enjoy that so much.
you are the best teddy.💯👍
How can you not mention the 556i here! The ultimate 1-2k tool watch.
I think it's over $2,000 now. But I agree 100%
What strap are you using on your Max Bill Chronograph?
Great choices!
Keep these up, with higher price points.
I really like the Rado diastar ,I might pick one up,they sell them at my local store.
I am from Germany and i love it when you say Glashütte
Great Videos
Please do more videos for entry level collection
Is yhe .611 powermatic 80 the one you cannot regulate?
Longines Skin Diver would be great in this list!

Nothing from Sinn, Oris or Longlines?
need a mention to meistersinger which is also a great watch!

It is such a great looking watch that when I am interested in watches and I see something else that I could buy, the question always arises "but why?" and I would not wear it anyway.
Wtf, thanks Teddy that you mention the Diastar. Such a sleeper. My favorite watch in my collection. I own the skeletonized one and love it.❤
Teddy we need a review of the new Seiko SPB 🙏🏼
Anyone know the lug to lug on the mido diver?
Teddy tough question for you why don't you consider Maurice Lacroix
Nomos Tangente 164 is a fantastic no-date hand-wound incredibly thin watch. Fantastic watch. And their shell cordovan straps are really nice.
Excellent
Think about it: The 62MAS cost 36 usd in 1965, which in todays money equates to 367 USD. And the SPB143 costs more than three times as much!
The watches I’m into right now for 1-2 k
Longines conquest
Seikos red sharp edge
Iris ox blood pointer date
Just bought my third watch from you ( thank you William B). How about some kind of contest to win a trip to your store and lunch. I’m sure you have tons of fans that would love to talk watches with you. Basically watch collecting is a satisfying but lonely hobby. love my black dial max bill
What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch. Always a pleasure to see amzwatch work your magic. Thanks for sharing this transformation with us!
Thinking the Longines Conquest something mm quartz should be here! Otherwise a killer video
My wife had a dress watch by Rado, and one day the glass just fell clean off the watch.
I’ve never seen such a thing on a watch at any price!
My goodness, how hard did she hit you!
Thankfully, searching Teddy Bulbasaur by voice on my TV remote brings me to your channel. If I say Baldasarre? No such luck.
Teddy. How come you never highlight the Shinola watches. Which are made in Detroit USA.
Are they assembled or are they actually completely manufactured in Detroit.
8:30 lol what? Never heard of this
It was actually HMT the Indian watch maker which people bought back in the day when they made it.
When people are saying #mamacoo is a better option,I very much agree!
Do a video choosing 1 watch per brand
