It's crazy how fast you incorporated feedback from that commenter wondering about including a quick history of the players competitive history at the start.😮
This man is a software engineer. He’s used to change management. I’m sure he’s had a project manager tell him 4pm on a Friday that something broke and he needs to fix it 😢
yo, I've never played any fighting game, I knew about SF once Mena won his first capcom cup but now I follow all events and know about the FGC cause of you and the amazing work you put on the recaps and in explaining the history, you've brought a lot of new people to the community including myself, thanks for making this and keep the good work.
Just putting this out there, I am an avid SF6, Capcom Pro Tour, and Dual Kevin fan and I had no idea that he even had a UA-cam channel. In fact, I can't even find it from searching his name.
Brian you're by far my favourite FGC content creator. Keep it up, the tournament recap videos and this podcasts are killing it! Big thanks! I'm new to fighting games in general, bought SF6 in december 2023 and I can say, I have been positively influenced by your mission of getting people hooked to the FGC, Capcom Cup and SF! Best of luck in the WW#5 (hope you're participating)
This podcast is seriously one of the best things that current NA SF has going for it. Getting to hear more from these top level players is amazing. I had literally no opinion on either Du or Dual Kevin before their episodes, but now I'm rooting for both of them. Much love man.
I really wish Dual Kevin a lot of success, this dude works really hard and is extremely consistent. Thank you for the video, really enjoying this podcast a lot.
That intro was dope! Definitely sets the mood for the podcast. Dual Kevin is one of my favorite players to watch and part of the reason I picked up Rashid! I had to see for myself, and yeah I get Dual Kevin's matches shown from other channels when I search on UA-cam. Had to use the search filter to find it
Brian is doing God's work with these. So interesting to hear these players talk freely. Really getting me pumped to play, level up and getting out there. I hope you can get Uncle Valle on soon. A true og would be fantastic.
When Kevin competes he has the most unnecessary poker face. Like he doesn't wanna show any emotion. But seeing him here shows a completely different side of his character. Much less off putting. This series has been great.
Loving the Trash Talk series, have been follow FGC since SF4 but never got to know the players since I dont watch streams due to time zones and bussy life !! Keep it up !!
Great interview with Dual Kevin, one of my favorite players. BTW - There is still one player that is top tier in two games, and that is the GOAT of KOF Xiaohai. He won EVO at KOFXV this year, and won a super stacked EWC. Other results he's got this year are top 7 at EVO Japan, 5th at Dream Hack Summer, 9th at EVO, 9th at Japan Super Premier, 2nd at UFA, and won last the 3 CPT WW Asia (China).
What a great pick for the podcast, as always. It's actually criminal how under the radar Dual Kevin is compared to other pro players. There was this hilarious comment someone made after Kev beat Daigo (or was it Tokido?) basically saying "this japanese legend lost to a random american, sf6 sucks" and that turned into a meme. Dual Kevin is one of the most impressive and consistent players in SF6 certainly and people need to realize he's up there right next to the other great players that everybody knows.
Really enjoying these episodes. I never really paid attention to Dual Kevin other than noticing him doing very well at tournaments but he seems like a really cool guy. Gonna root for him more in future lol
Xiaohai: the King of Fighters. Only person close rn in two games. Maybe he gets it done on the CPT, but to be the final boss at KOF majors and win EWC and 2nd at UFA, the man is cooking rn. Will be curious to see what he does with Garou 2. And because Saudi Arabia owns SNK, maybe they can bring out the money to make it the premier 2D fighting circuit.
I didn't know anything about DualKevin outside his performances, but he is great. I really like how he thinks about fighting games. I think if he doesn't want to do "content" content and just edited vods, it'd be cool to have him talk about decision making, practice, matchups, analyze some replays etc because its clear he has a lot of knowledge and is able to articulate it well without needing to put on a more animated persona.
This turned out to be one of my favorite episodes. I wasn't a big Dual Kevin fan, not in the sense of "oh, I don't like the guy". Literally in the sense that I was indifferent. Great player, but not one I'd follow closely. But I have to echo the sentiment at 1:46:00, that's probably the first I've heard him talk extensively about something. And hearing his opinions on certain games' meta and how to approach to learn and study... He's the kind of player whose channel I'd definitely follow. Doesn't even need fancy editing or any formula, I think the FGC has little in the way of analytical content. Simply watching matches and pointing out his notes is already the kind of content I find interesting, although as a competitor there _is_ the problem of helping your competition as well... It's not an easy solution. lol Anyways, great episode! And I was surprised to hear BAM is his brother. I've had his videos recommended to me all the time and I do NOT play CoD at all. He's doing the yt game correctly.
27:51 This was huge for me. I would drill and it wouldn't translate perfectly into games. Then I switched my focus to do the things I practice and less on winning. So much so that I would force the situations just so I can do what I practiced. Even tho it wasn't the correct choice at that moment.
In today’s games you don’t need to play multiple games if you are professional level. Justin being the goat in multiple games was a gift and a curse. He really had no choice. There wasn’t any prize money in one game. You had to win or place in multiple games to receive what players receive on one game today. Possibly just half of today’s prize money. If there was million dollar tournaments every year back then Justin probably would not have played multiple games
You know I always thought donating to streamers was just weird, but describing it as digital busking makes it make a lot more sense. Weird that I've never heard that analogy before, honestly.
Fantastic pacing. I really like that you, in a loving way, take actual jabs and do some real trash talk to your guests (come on dual kevin whats up with your youtube stuff lol). Hit en hard mista eff
Hey Brian one small complaint from watching all the episodes, idk if it’s my phone or my AirPods but there’s a weird high pitch screeching kinda noise that comes up 2-3 times per episode. If it’s just on my end then it’s coo
As someone who's made a few successful UA-cam channels, dual Kevin has a horrible mentality about content and its destroying his career everyday he doesn't put himself out there....
"Destroying his career?" You could argue it is just holding back a potential income stream that he never even began in the first place. It's still available for him to explore when he wishes.
The editing and voiceover on the intro 😮💨🔥
We all need a friend hyping us up like robTV
Totally agreed. That intro is so good.
Hollywooood!!!

@@YunisRajabHis recap is this fire???
It's crazy how fast you incorporated feedback from that commenter wondering about including a quick history of the players competitive history at the start.😮
I was thinking the exact same thing, like damn Brian works FAST
Also a possibility that he and his editor had been talking about doing it for a couple weeks already, because it seems like a no brainer, doesn’t it?
This man is a software engineer. He’s used to change management. I’m sure he’s had a project manager tell him 4pm on a Friday that something broke and he needs to fix it 😢
The intro is exactly what the podcast needed, well done.

Loving all of the Trash Talks especially while I'm working.
My man
Same here both this and jwong’s run the mindset are a godsend. It’s hard to find FGC stuff I can just listen to while I’m working
Just putting this out there, I am an avid SF6, Capcom Pro Tour, and Dual Kevin fan and I had no idea that he even had a UA-cam channel. In fact, I can't even find it from searching his name.
That's what I told him! Literally can't find it by searching lol
I love how Brian is still keeping up the agenda of CPT being bad 😂

As a fellow peruvian, it is great to see Kevin represent us. Met him at CEO, pretty chill dude
Keep these as long as you can Brain! I love how long these podcasts are!
damn, the frame 1 feedback incorporation, love it
That intro was beyond godlike! I'm glad to see so much midwest representation on this podcast.
Loving the trash talk series! The production and quick player history is giving documentary vibes which is awesome!
HIS BROTHER IS BAMS??!???!! Kevin i better see an upload tomorrow
THAT'S WHAT IM SAYING
Been super cool to hear from players that aren’t as public like Du And dual Kevin

Is this rhetorical or do you wanna know?
@@MagNesh777 I really don't know
Two Hour Kev.
The risks he doesn’t take in gameplay, he takes in life.
Great episode! I loved the intro and feel like this editing style gives a much better flow/pacing with the fewer awkward pauses.
damn this one went by quick, didn't even seem like almost 2 hours!
all the best for dual kevin, love to watch him in marvel 3

Dont let perfection be the enemy of good is a BAR sheesh 💯
Saying mvc3 is more controlling than sf6 , u mean making the game 1 player centrict is just worst .😅

ANGRY COMMENT ABOUT SOL
I think 3 hrs is too long but I think 1h46 is too short! I think 2 hrs of in depth discussion is a good area, honestly!
3 hours is not too long = )
Especially since they’re only once a week, 3 hours is fine; just break it up into multiple sessions to hold you over until the next episode
