I don't usually comment on your videos but I just wanted to say that this podcast is fucking *incredible* two episodes in. I'm especially digging it as someone who sort of fell out of love with street fighter because of V's launch and then came back in. I knew iDom was a great player but I didn't realize the extent of his dominance. And same with RobTV, I knew he was an entertaining host and did big numbers on youtube but I didn't realize how integral he was to the scene during V and how dominant he was in his era. Love the idea behind the podcast, love the execution, and can't wait to see more going forward. I hope this has a long life and you're able to get lots of players for what are essentially longform interviews. I feel like you're filling a big hole in the fgc right now and beyond just helping preserve the history of the fgc you're cementing yourself as one of my favorite creators in general.
I'm really happy that Brian is becoming one of the best fighting game personalities on the scene. He's really starting to find his niche in this world and I am always happy to see his content. This is a great move Brian! My dude is killing it!
I don't exaggerate when I say this ep might genuinely have reshaped my entire view on the fgc and competetive play as a whole. I've never been so engaged listening to a pod before. This was awesome.
It's an interesting podcast since sometimes Brian and Rob are disagreeing and talking over each other in a good way that feels like a conversation but then a few times you sorta feel like Brian should let Rob speak and take priority since it's an interview format. Or if Rob tries to interrupt - Brian sort of holds steady and finishes his train of thought - even if Rob is trying to correct him in something. I do like how thorough Brian is with his questioning and theres a good balance of letting the convo flow naturally to where Rob might take it but also getting the answers he wants ad an interviewer
I love how these conversations flow ... Brian really is great at keeping a good conversation and at keeping the guest at ease ... i love this pod and hope we have a bunch more. We eating good.
Wildest thing is... I knew about Rob before ever dipping a toe into the FGC. I am his target audience for "Trying White People Music" series. I'm a sucker for those music reactions.
I realized that "black people reacting to white people sh*t" was it's own genre of youtube video a couple years ago, so I thought it was very smart of Rob to jump on that. And, of course, he does it better than anybody else. And props for not holding back on the negative opinions, as well as the positive ones.
This was a really good historical FGC talk segment and I love how this community’s so good, it can put 2 rivals towards a path of friendship and brand fellowship. When l 1st came to the SF6 community, it was just to try and win the grand Capcom Cup prize, but I never knew the FGC universe was this big and appealing & I now enjoy this atmosphere on a weekly basis win or lose 💯 Yes, there’s MANY ways to present content that’s uniquely appealing. Where I feel like I have to watch RobTV directly bc he’s more visually animated, I can watch Brian or have his clips play in my pocket as I’m working cuz he’s like listening to a radio show you’d enjoy during labor work. Everybody’s got their niche and just gotta see how they can take their own style and make it as consumable as you can 💯 I appreciate both of y’all’s media work; informative, competition-relatable, catches me up on what I missed with SF4 & SF5 and the strategy guides are mind-blowing as well as encouraging. Non-FGC material’s just as entertaining, cable TV could never 😋 Great stuff 🕹️💫
My favorite moment with Rob was at Texas Showdown a few years ago. We were playing casuals and he was playing a close game. I whisper in his ear "i bet you won't walk up raw overhead". This man walks up mid screen with Guile with no hesitation overheads the dude and wins the game. LMAO.
Wow, I just want to take a second to say I love this video; I liked it for the ol yt gods ofc. Genuinely this video made me think about myself, not just in fighting games but in life in general. I also found myself laughing and feeling the same emotional dissonance as it's described. Great video! I learned so much about the FGC that I didn't know about, but that's exactly why I follow Brian_F! (Shoutout Midwest, didn't know you were repin' the set G 👍)
I agree with rob. It’s annoying when you pick a character that’s good but people downplay your wins. A Top-tier doesn’t guarantee victory. And a good character can’t fix the lack of skill a player may have. Shit is annoying. This mindset basically forces people into picking characters they probably don’t really like.
Rob should be proud to be a great physical comedian. Edit - wanting gameplay changes isn't the same as pulling out of the fundamental agreement we make by competing and watching, which is that the competition is legit. You can't just pull that plug here and there.
fire podcast, hope you could add em to apple podcast some day :) Side note, i don't think you need to bother editing full cam on the guest, having both of you side to side is cooler imo
Thanks for the podcast, Brine. Genuinely interesting to hear all the behind-the-scenes, in terms of both events and thoughts. I feel like your style of "commentary" we praise constantly transfers very well to interviews.
Iv said this to my friend, But Brian is a funny and entertaining commentator when he watches tournaments live. He might not be aware but that's honestly something i would see him branch out to.
loving the content and long form of the podcast so far haven't been this stoked to tune into some fgc content since the no frillz podcast, keep killing it!
10/10 podcast episode, this one was even better than the Idom one! the conversations and topics were amazing - "you'll never know, unless you try!" - I really wish Rob didnt stop competing, you can hear it in his voice, hes got the drive to compete even now, I hope he can find the space to compete even a little
Brine! This is such a great idea, i'm a huge podcast head (i rarely even listen to music anymore) and i've been loving having a FGC related show to listen to, thank you for this!
This shit has dropped as the perfect time in my life tbh. I competed a lot on niche games when I was younger but in my mid 20s I kinda lost the drive to really push myself. I'm 29 goin on 30 in 6 months and that passion for competing is still there so I've buckled down on myself in the last couple months to go from just casually playing ranked in many games to really trying to grind out 2 or 3 titles and push myself. Not tryna become salaried but I wanna be able to be a bracket ruiner of some variety and if the extra effort I put in is sustainable, maybe push for Top 8 major-levels of play. Stuff like this has been instrumental to helping me maintain focus and channel that passion into a more responsible mindset. Love the work Brian, been a fan for a long time and your work just gets more and more valuable as time goes on.
I remember playin with Rob back in SF4 we were in lobbies w/ some guys there was some Ryu mentor dude that started w/ a "K". At the time he was like 40, so dude is pushing 60 now lol anyways, me & Rob would get lessons from this Ryu main. He was MASSIVE into fundamentals & how to properly throw fireballs. I had a couple 1 on 1s w/ Rob to see who was the better Gouki 😂 Hope Rob's been doin well. kinda made me sad he didn't bring up the SF4 days lol
I knew RobTV from the FGC as competitor and host but have never realized that UA-cam recommended his music reaction videos a thousand times and I never really gave any attention 'cause I dont like reaction videos, so I never really knew that it was HIM until now! Very nice chat, I think the format is already consolidate and its just ep2.
I love both you guys basically saying - "yeah, I should be able to beat anyone". Nobody is on a pedestal. That's the way you've gotta be as a competitor.
Rob is one of my fav hosts! So entertaining and hype! As a player i didn't think he's good as he thinks he is "i thought back in the day he was insecure or narcissistic or something 😂" but man seeing that game between him and brian the 5-1 and i am like.. how this is 3 years ago 😭😭 i remember it like yesterday!! Also he said ppl are pussy for saying nephew is better than idom when he do the same thing with punk and over glorify his mates! I find that hypocritical tbh! As brian said this is human nature, amazing ep and man can't wait for whats next! Please justin wong, ryan hart, the birds, maybe tokido! So happy for brian because i genuinely believe he makes the most fun, informative content in the FGC "without the insane budget of masahiro Sakurai 😂❤" can't wait for the next one! I watched the ep as i walked 20K steps 😂😂🙌❤
You know what I Watch on UA-cam aside of fighting games stuff? That’s right,Music reactions and now you have just thrown me in another binge watch of all that stuff!🤣🤣🤣
That first segment they were talking about was the same thing that happened with Gootecks. He became known as the poggers face. But seeing him and even RobTV on the internet was a cool thing for me especially when you see them exploding on the internet and knowing who they are before that.
Going to the LeBron comparison with FGC. 1000% brain F is right, every competitive sport peeps try to make excuses. Does he not remember the Olympics? Like even though his team won people literally made excuses that someone did not dunk on him. They would edit him out and go”that never happened” and became a meme. It’s every game not just fgc related.
Thanks for having me on BRINE!
Hopefully yall enjoy the pod 🙏🏾
Justin then brine? Man's on the podcast speed run 😂
hey rob pls listen to ashes in the fall by rage its my fav song rn !!
If I ever get money I’m gonna make a FG version of White Men Can’t Jump and cast you and Brian
Hold up, his podcasting is this fire???
Its actually so much better than I imagined it would be. Jokes on me for being a doubter.
absolute cinema
Let the records show that when I made this comment, it was not in the thumbnail
Trash fire😂beautiful confluence

Hell get more used to this type of hosting too.
Bryan's been the face of na SF content for like 7 years tbh.
I don't exaggerate when I say this ep might genuinely have reshaped my entire view on the fgc and competetive play as a whole. I've never been so engaged listening to a pod before. This was awesome.
this is like sol and ky teaming up again this writing is fire
Brian f + robtv interactions are the best thing to come out of sf5. I'm sad it was only 3 hours long.
I miss No Neutral and I never even played SFV
One of the best duos in the FGC. Always happy to see you dudes together.
Nah we got Hollywood on the second episode, at this rate I’m expecting Diago on the third.
Don’t know if it ever happen, but I think it will be really funny if Brian asks him “so idom say you play like a scrub” and Daigo just agrees
Daegu Umeharu would be insane on the Brine F pod! Then after we get, The Wazzler dressed up as Doc Oc from Spideman
Diego Umejuarez
@@herlockburger7821Cartel Boss .. yes

These kinds of conversations have been missing from the FGC for too long
Jwong really did you dirty by posting his ancient RobTv episode just a few days ago 😂
Hold up, his writing is this fire??
I remember seeing the "hold up his writing is fire" memes and being like wtf is that RobTV
I love Rob the host. I miss Rob the competitor. Such a great personality to have as a top player.
really enjoyed the iDom episode, learning more about the scene before SF6. Especially alluding to RobTV's time in SFV, excited to learn more.
We finally got these two talking together again, the world is healing
Let's go, Brine and Rob are always a good duo
Crazy to think the time when Rob used to beat Brian's ass in every NLBC was already like 4 years ago.
rob and brian is a great combo
I realized that "black people reacting to white people sh*t" was it's own genre of youtube video a couple years ago, so I thought it was very smart of Rob to jump on that. And, of course, he does it better than anybody else. And props for not holding back on the negative opinions, as well as the positive ones.
I hope Rob makes a second appearance in the future. I could listen to these guys talk about paint dry lol
We eatin with Rob. First Jwong and now Brian underscore F.

The year that Capcom Cup was cancelled was no BS, the best storylines and lineup going into a cup ever.
Me writing home about the Trash Talk Podcast: Hold up is this fire 🗿

I don’t think actual pros think like this. They got a job to do.
@ you’re right but it does lead to people being annoying online
@@balther10 that’s we can’t control so I don’t worry one bit
Damn crazy timing on this video. I just asked myself yesterday what happened to Rob lmao. Good shit.
Rob should be proud to be a great physical comedian.

When we getting a FT10 with Brian F and Rob TV
fire podcast, hope you could add em to apple podcast some day :) Side note, i don't think you need to bother editing full cam on the guest, having both of you side to side is cooler imo
This was great the whole way through. Filled up my time in the car, waiting at the doctor, and making dinner. And I didn’t have to watch it.

Rob, please come back to playing, at least occasionally. You were one one of the 3 cool Karin players out there.
Damn 16k in a day ??? Good shit Brian . Excited for this series
Couldn't have happened to a better guy. Big Hollywood the legend.
This podcast is dope, I really hope it becomes successful and it continues. Thank you for it :)
Brian putting in 20 hour days to be a content god
Dope podcast, a lot of great convos going on, thank you brian!
You and Rob hit it off like no other on this one, love to see his passion and energy
