- We had three days to explore Knoxville, TN this spring, we researched the crap out of the town and found these spots that represent some of the best Beer, Cocktails, Burgers, Tamales and places to see live music. Of course in three short days we missed a helluva lot, so we're not calling this the definitive guide to Knoxville, its just our opinion on the Scruffy City.

A lot of people head for #Nashville but we say check out #Knoxville instead. buff.ly/1DHg0Iy
Watch out. People that moved to Austin and destroyed it are leaving and moving to Knoxville. Word of advice if you want to keep Knoxville don't let outsiders get control of city council. I'm just sayin'
Now you know why I circled this town on a map 20 years ago and said "I want to move there" and why I did.
I was at the airport in 1982 when I was 8. Now I’m moving there. Hope it’s cool! I can’t wait.
Leaving Houston for Knoxville in two weeks...serenity now!!!
@Steve V- How is it Steve?
We are considering the move ourselves.
Coming from San Diego, CA... gettin a bit too crowded for our tastes here
@RadBrad How is it 1 year later?
I like the pace of the video and the variety of places to get a cold one.
Next time plan your visit with a stop to a UT Vols football game...it's a life experience...along with 110,000 other people...then head up to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg then experience Cades Cove in the Smokies
Been to Cades Cove a dozen times and love it each time.
Preservation Pub and Scruffy City are the best bars. You cant beat live music every night. For instance, last night after performing at the Bijou, The band Cage the Elephant came to Preservation. They drank at rooftop bar, talked to fans, and then went downstairs an hopped on stage and played a couple songs!!
You guys are great, many thanks for your time and effort.
I absolutely love traveling and I wish I could do what you do. I'm an accountant and my wife is a french major and we're both Egyptian Americans...I'd love to leave my "normal" lifestyle behind and break free (without LSD).
I thought you did a good job. I was born and raised in Knoxville. I live in Orlando now, so I actually learned a few things about new restaurants. The best time to visit is in the fall or in april when the dogwoods are blooming.
Knoxville looks like a very cool place. It's amazing that you two stay so thin with all your eating and boozing. :-)
Thanks guys, I've been bouncing the idea around to pack up and just move to Scruffy city! I think you guys just sold me on the idea!
Did you move, it’s been a year.
Loved the longer form and the moderate pace of this video.
I loved the Peter Kearn Library. Reminds me of the concept of the Explorers club at Walt Disney World's Downtown Disney-- (Now Closed). I enjoyed the pace of your video but that mustache scared me.
Know of any good jobs that don't require college degree?
The 5 people who down-voted this are jerks!
I’m from Central Asia and me and my family spender this weekend there. It was awesome. I’ve the video of hiking in my channel.
Thanks for sharing. I am in the Knoxville area and you guys introduced me to some new, cool venues.
How do you guys stay so skinny with all the food you consume on your trips around the country? LOL
I like what you did and do. Always a pleasure to watch. I like the slower pace video and the videography.
Perfect, not too long but not as quick as previous vids. As always, great content, editing and camera work. A+
you two are a class act. Period.
Your videos are awesome. Would love to see you guys visit the Northwest Arkansas area!
Sticky toffee pudding ale!? I have a bottle of that sitting on my shelf that I bought in the uk!!
+Nick Wood The bananna beer is awesome too! Did you see this video we made forever ago: www.gonewiththewynns.com/banana-beer-float

Glad you like our area of the country and glad to see you came to your senses on your hair color (;-)))
Ha! I have been here a few years ago with my flying job. :) Fun place.
Nice video! Enjoy all your videos, thanks!! :)
Makes me want to hop on a plane and visit. Nice job!
My son and my grand babies lives near there!
Loved the video! A real professional feel to it.
Love your hair! Color really brings out all your beauty!
Great video! I must visit one day.
*fountain city is not really Knoxville it's more South Corryton. and Bands are not what Knoxville is known for at all. there are a few there little bands or musicians happy to sing for their supper but in Nashville everyone here is pretty much here to be a musician. i'm not. i moved here to be with my wife 18 years ago after living in Knoxville for 10 years. Chesapeaks or Calhouns on the river are what Knoxville is about. Craft beer is a new thing to that area. only been a thing that's shown up within the last 8 years*
Knoxville !!! Where is the gold?
the sunsphere tower look like the ripoff of dallas reunion tower
You look like a rip-off of peewee Herman.
Those first two places look awesome!
Must be older vid. Non blond.
Very well put together video! Well done guys!
You should visit Tuscaloosa football Saturday
P B What! Tuscaloosa is terrible. Its one area with the University an places that cater to college kids an then all around it is nothing but pawn shops and sketchy locations. I am biased though being a Tennessee fan!
Another excellent video. I've always just passed through this town. Will have to browse around next time.
Safe Travels and Happy Trails to you!
Looks cool! Haven't been to TN in years, but definitely willing to check this out!
nice video!
I lived in Knoxville many years. UT alum. It's a fantastic city! Y'all sure do drink a lot.
Stock And Barrel has the best burgers in Knoxville.
I worked in the Good Golly Tamale space 25 years ago when it was called Amigos.
Good Golly Tamale has their own place now. Great food and great folks.
I have family in southwest Virginia, I think Knoxville is going to be my choice to be close, but still live somewhere I can have fun! I'm from the Chicago suburbs.
Two Tarnished Pennies Do it you wont regret it! You can go to theater or concert an party one night an then next day be in the smoky mountains hiking through that amazing natural park!
It is a great city! The tailgates are awesome!
What happened to my city?
What more do you need?
Are you guys married
Nice one.
COOL!
Good video, but im gonna have to disagree on some opinions and as a current resident to this town. Knoxville has become nothing more than trendy over the past 15 to 20 years, and it comes to no surprise by way of the materialistic people residing here. U cant turn a cheek without seeing northface jackets on everyones back accompanied by an odd snare if u bother to look at someone. Older folks from this city can be friendly who live in nearby rural areas. However, travel out west, into market square, on gay street, or even in the old city and U.T. strip, and all you'll find are materialistic, stuck up, superficial, trendsetters with their micro craft beers in hand and northface jackets to match. I wouldnt be here if it werent for my ailing family. Nevertheless, it is what it is unlike its glory days of department stores on Gay Street with Christmas Shoppers packing the old Millers and downtown Profitts buildings. I realize things change, but this city certainly isnt what it once was. Even J.F.G. Coffee relocated from its founding old city home after the trendy age society has moved in. No, im not old, but it sure sounds like it huh? Im just a fan of stuck up people who act as if theyre made of money while remaining in debt just to kerp up with the Jones's under false pretenses. Simplicity: its how I can be defined unlike the people of this town.
68 mopar bet you’re fun at parties
OK boomer. Just kidding. I'm a boomer. Thanks for your local perspective.
i live next door in maryville!
Maryville has great access to the mountains!
You have to stay drunk to put up with that sorry football team
Tennessee- “we are the biggest hicks in the country!”
Florida- “hold my beer”
