I’m devastated that this is the end, but looking at the bright side... I’ve been shipping queer couples for 20 years (omg) and seriously, this is the only one that is canon, a main focus in the story, and got an happy ending... seriously, I feel so privileged thinking that we have half an hour just of kissing scenes. How times have changed.

I’m 3 years late to the party of liking this comment! But YES!! Alec was just existing before, work, do his job, sleep, repeat. After Magnus, he started living 🥺😢❤️❤️🔥 They’re one of my all time favourite couples and as the show went on, you can see him become more and more comfortable with who he is and his love for Magnus ❤️❤️🔥

These two are perfect in every way. They had the best chemistry on this show and although I rooted for Jace and Clary, these two just went far beyond my expectations of this pairing. When I first heard about this show coming out after the film Immortal Instruments I was somewhat skeptical but I soon fell in love with this show and the amazing cast. And Harry playing Magnus was by far better than Magnus in the film. Harry is an amazing talented Actor and his connection with Matthew is blooming fantastic. We need these two back on our screens immediately.
For me I shipped this way harder then clace (comifn from books) I prefer Sizzy personally more then Clace abd everything. But malec is definitely one if my faves they are great and made me cry in the books

When they got married ‘war of hearts’ should have played
i think the song played was better. ruelle sang war of hearts which is about the difficultly of love, and she also sang i get to love you which is the song playing. that song is about the finality and happiness of their love. it comes full circle with the same artist and i think it worked perfectly :)
I think the two they play are sort of connected. In ‘war of hearts’ it’s talking about how they can’t love each other and in ‘I get to love you’ that they get to love each other now.
war of hearts is my duet song so i had to study it a lot: war of hearts is a un-reciprocated love. almost more of Ruelle having an obsession with the one shes writing about, (s)hes moving on (or was never there in the first place) while shes madly in love with h(er)im.

Straight-up, Malec the best thing about the Shadowhunters series adaptation. The show allows for more perspectives (not just Clary's and the occasional other person's) which, in turn, allows scenes with just Alec and Magnus, and they become more their own characters than anything I see in the books. They get to grow and develop and have personalities and make mistakes and learn from mistakes. The show does these two justice in terms of building and growing them into multi-dimensional, relatable, likable characters and not just an item.
Malec is also great because it is an established gay relationship in a tv show that is portrayed the same as any other type of relationship. They experience a real relationship, not something that's just lovey-dovey or done to please fans. They take it slow and they grow and they hurt each other but they keep getting back up. Malec is one of the best gay couples I've seen on a tv show, which says a lot about both other tv shows and the performance of this one.
I have many issues with Shadowhunters, but Malec is not one of them. These two are great (both the characters and the actors) and they really make everything about the show more enjoyable.

To be fair, I think it's one of the best fictional relationships, even a lot of straight one doesn't show that much of communication. They aren't perfect but they definitely work on it. (We even have a consent discussion, more than a lot of het stories)

I love their relationship, they're caring and love each other from their heart, and my opinion is, that Malec is the one of the best romantic relationship in the history of TV and books. 😊 Their relationship isn't toxic or full of drama, they just love each other no matther what and don't give a duck about what people think about them. 😊

I legit have never seen Shadow Hunters and just recently came across Alec and Magnus. I watched this and started crying at the proposal. They make me so happy
This is the romance I wished for between Quentin and Elliot in the Magicians. The relationship whole story arc was so good and the ending was really satisfying! Malec was the highlight of the show for me.
This was the first series that ever got me fully hooked I kept wanting more and more I’m still in tears that it’s over 😓
I would really like to give my opinion on the ending of shadowhunters.
I really really hope that there will be a 4. season i mean riverdale will get a 4. season even if many people who watch riverdale say that the series has gone very bad , lucifer got a 4. season and the savelucifer hashtag had lower repostings and 13 reasons why will get a 3. season so why is shadowhunters not going to? I mean i like all 3 series but i also think that shadowhunters would get a lot more watchers and hashtags so #SAVESHADOWHUNTERS 🥰
