Let me have a moment to thank Maryse for being such a wonderful mother. She's developed from despising Magnus to loving him and eventually brought them back together. I love her.
@@EthelBH This is just my opinion: I would give Zuko the benefit of the doubt but he was just a teenager learning to not idolize his father and finding the courage to be himself...Maryse is an adult who changed her entire viewpoint just because she loves her son. It is completely different for a teenage character to change their ways because they are always growing and learning new things by interacting with new people and things, whereas adults are more set in their ways and think they don't have anything to learn anymore. The fact that she embraces Magnus, a warlock who she has been taught to hate for maybe all of her life, just because he is important to Alec is the reason that I think she has the best development of any character that I have read and seen. Again, just my opinion but I had to explain my reasoning :-)
@@SGAnascar i do respect and appreciate Maryse's character development, especially considering she's an adult and they do question their beliefs a lot less, but I also think that Zuko not only had to let go of the hope of ever receiving love (or even just recognition) from his father, but learn to love himself in spite of it, face his mistakes, accept that his knowledge of the world was completely twisted and wrong and act on it and the fact that all of this character development happened in a way that felt genuine is, to me, more impressive than the fact that she let go of prejudice in the face of love, however honorable and amazing that may be.
I felt it happened completely out of the blue. She was fully against them and then she dissapeared for a while and when she came back she was suddenly 100% supportive and happy for them. It would have made more sense and made more of an impact if it had happened more gradually. (I'm talking about the show)

I agree with the concept of her development but not with how it was made. It seemed so rushed and fake to me. I understand that you can't spend hours and hours on one character but there's a piece or two missing for it to be logical (in my opinion)

The first one came out last year and was really good. All of the books in the Shadowhunters series are extremely good!!

SPOILER FOR THE INFERNAL INSTRUMENTS that is made even sweeter but art the same time sad knowing that Brother Zachariah is Jem. In the books, on multiple occasions we see Jem not being able to express his feelings with words, so he expresses them through music with his violin, but Silent Brothers aren't allowed to play instruments so the most he can do is not be completely silent. This came out longer that expected.

Seriously, I thought this video was only compilation of TV clip but I was amazed this video was beautifully edited and capture the love between them perfectly. My initial thought about the series: I didn't really like the first few episode back when it went out. Only watched it for 2 episodes and I'm not interested anymore. but here i am again few days ago re-watching all the 55 episodes in 3 days because of Malec! i thought Malec saved the misreables first impression to me years ago and here I am can't get enough of shadowhunters series :") Not only because of Malec, but every story that it tell us. Maybe it wasn't perfect because the show was cancelled, but they made the closure to the story for us loyal fans even tho the TV rating keeps rolling down the hill so what it counts to make the show special to me :) thank you shadowhunters...
The show was recommended to me by a friend because of Malec and I'll forever be grateful she told me to keep watching even if I didn't like it because they were worth it. I wasn't really sure about the show at first, some things were annoying me but it ended up being a guilty pleasure, then a fully owned pleasure. Even started reading the books after just to get more of all the stories.
I am not able to watch the show cause I've seen the movie first and now I can't stand the different portrait of characters. So this video contains practically all I'll watch from the series.
@@1004Manal actually it's not fully Netflix fault :v back then, Netflix wasn't rich enough to save the show, Netflix produced the show, but the one who invest the show is FreeForm. Unlike Netflix who cares about their user demands, FreeForm care about money more than the show high rating (u know the props, the effects, they cost money) so they canceled the show. However Netflix considered to save it, but unfortunately like I said before, Netflix didn't have the budget at that time. So until now the fans r still using #saveshadowhunters in twitter and others with hope that Netflix still will save them cuz now Netflix is bigger and richer and known to save many shows with big fandom. In addition, actually the cast was took some scene of S4, so it will really become a wasted oppotunity if we can't save the show😭
In my head I like to imagine that Alec either gets reincarnated or he becomes immortal or he and Magnus share his immortality. I just can’t deal with the idea that Magnus one day would lose Alec after everything they have been through. I know they have accepted it but the thought is heartbreaking.
The beautiful thing about their relationship is that no matter how big the problem is, or how messed up the situation is, they always find their way back to each other🥺 Alec never hesitated to apologize and lower his ego for Magnus, and so did Magnus. They never give up on each other. It’s simply just a beautiful relationship😭
Malec was the only reason I finished the show. The actual main couple had waaaay to many turn off moments and the acting felt cringe. But Malec...their acting was from another star💗

I love when Dot tried to kiss Magnus, his clear answer was "No, I'm in love with Alec. I'm one soul at a time kind of guy." This answer is so much better than "I can't, I have a partner and they wouldn't like it" The latter gives the expression that because you're with someone and that someone won't like it, that's why you are not kissing the other person. The first one, what Magnus says implies that HE DOESN'T WANT TO BECAUSE HE IS IN LOVE WITH ALEC. Saying you can't because of someone and saying you DON'T want to is completely different. That's what I love about this line. It feels like no matter what happens, even if they break up or fight, Magnus will never feel anything for anyone else, even when there's nobody to stop him.

One of my favorites moments of them in the books was in City of Glass. The city is being attacked by demons and Alec is fighting and gets overwhelmed so then Magnus jumps in and saves him and the first thing he says is “You didn’t call me” 😂😂😂

In the books, on multiple occasions we see Jem not being able to express his feelings with words, so he expresses them through music with his violin, but Silent Brothers aren't allowed to play instruments so the most he can do is not be completely silent.

My initial thought about the series: I didn't really like the first few episode back when it went out. Only watched it for 2 episodes and I'm not interested anymore. but here i am again few days ago re-watching all the 55 episodes in 3 days because of Malec! i thought Malec saved the misreables first impression to me years ago and here I am can't get enough of shadowhunters series :") Not only because of Malec, but every story that it tell us. Maybe it wasn't perfect because the show was cancelled, but they made the closure to the story for us loyal fans even tho the TV rating keeps rolling down the hill so what it counts to make the show special to me :) thank you shadowhunters...
The show was recommended to me by a friend because of Malec and I'll forever be grateful she told me to keep watching even if I didn't like it because they were worth it. I wasn't really sure about the show at first, some things were annoying me but it ended up being a guilty pleasure, then a fully owned pleasure. Even started reading the books after just to get more of all the stories.

@@1004Manal actually it's not fully Netflix fault :v back then, Netflix wasn't rich enough to save the show, Netflix produced the show, but the one who invest the show is FreeForm. Unlike Netflix who cares about their user demands, FreeForm care about money more than the show high rating (u know the props, the effects, they cost money) so they canceled the show. However Netflix considered to save it, but unfortunately like I said before, Netflix didn't have the budget at that time. So until now the fans r still using #saveshadowhunters in twitter and others with hope that Netflix still will save them cuz now Netflix is bigger and richer and known to save many shows with big fandom. In addition, actually the cast was took some scene of S4, so it will really become a wasted oppotunity if we can't save the show😭

The beautiful thing about their relationship is that no matter how big the problem is, or how messed up the situation is, they always find their way back to each other🥺 Alec never hesitated to apologize and lower his ego for Magnus, and so did Magnus. They never give up on each other. It’s simply just a beautiful relationship😭

I love when Dot tried to kiss Magnus, his clear answer was "No, I'm in love with Alec. I'm one soul at a time kind of guy." This answer is so much better than "I can't, I have a partner and they wouldn't like it" The latter gives the expression that because you're with someone and that someone won't like it, that's why you are not kissing the other person. The first one, what Magnus says implies that HE DOESN'T WANT TO BECAUSE HE IS IN LOVE WITH ALEC. Saying you can't because of someone and saying you DON'T want to is completely different. That's what I love about this line. It feels like no matter what happens, even if they break up or fight, Magnus will never feel anything for anyone else, even when there's nobody to stop him.
