This is soo true of an ENFJ, sometimes it's hard to make logical decisions because we care too much how other people will feel! Sometimes, I wish I can just think more logically.

You are good at making friends so if you do a logical approach, you can start by thinking your friends are just things. Then let your Fe take over. In other words, try to be selfish for no reason.

    • @giannibravo9092
      @giannibravo9092 5 років тому +5

I wonder if a lot of enfj’s struggle with this as much as we do? Or maybe some just simply make a workaround and learn to be more selfish on a regular basis and only use their fe for their own benefit. It’s ridiculous how much I naturally only want to care about others well being and lose myself.

I'm an INTP and my roommate, who I dated for 6 years is an ENFJ. Nearlynevery time she tells me about her problems I get frustrated because I can't help her. My solutiin is always "Stop caring what other people think" and she just can't do that so she's stuck in a perpetual hell of having to deal with people who she'll hurt or offend no matter what she does.
I have gained an appreciation for dominant Ti.

I feel you, I'm an enfj, but trust me it's a skill you can learn. After making many mistakes in life and with people I had to train myself to think more logically at times. And you can be logical and emotional simultaneously as well

I love the part when you said, that ENFJs think they want to socialize more then thay actually do. This is so true... Everyday I'm like: "Oh my god, I need to go to a party! I need to see people! I miss my friends! I could be partying everyday!" then after the party for 3 days: "Yeah, I hate when there is too much people around"

I am an ENFJ-T, and I identify with everything that was stated in this video verbatim. The part about seeking social situations, but feeling stressed due to my intuition was particularly true for me. I was wondering if any other ENFJs struggled with social anxiety and experienced difficulties in this area? I desperately want to be around people, but I tend to isolate myself as social situations stress me out and my mind goes into overdrive. It would be really nice to feel like I’m not alone in these experiences. x

Hey! I definitely feel the same way too, social anxieties have always been a struggle in my life! While I love being around people, their opinions on me matters to me so much that it can be suffocating, so I have to constantly remind myself that they probably doesn't even care as much! Haha. Its good to know that we're not alone on this! Meanwhile, im trying my best to make use of my people skills and be a good leader when situations requires it!! ♥️

I have to same problems. I'm an ENFJ, but I was severely bullied in my youth which led to severe social anxiety. I still suffer from it, but my need socialize with others usually helps me push past it. I have to remind myself that most people aren't judging me as much as I'm judging myself. Also, I get depressed when I'm anti-social for too long.

I have high functioning anxiety, I love being around people (that I know or know of) but it does take it's toll on me, I prefer being in social settings with the intention of having something to do but as soon as is hanging out in a relax situation I'm uncomfortable. Confident in my comfort zones but always trying to expand them while learning about what I will want to do again and what I can do but will not enjoy.

As a true ENFJ I indeed am the Giver with a capital G. However, my J is shared 50/50 with the P side and I'm intelligent. Which makes me one of those ENFJ's that are based well in logic and knowledge. Besides that: many ENFJ's work on the thinking side, because of their need to be and catalyze a positive change in the world. Since that works better with actual knowledge, many ENFJ's invest a lot of their time in bettering themselves and their understanding of the world. Because we give with a reason: not to make ourselves poorer, but to make this world better. Not to be taken advantage off, but to lead by example.

I am an ENFJ and I recognize myself in all of that! Crazy how personlities can be studied that deeply! I am a 3th year dental student. I think that becoming a dentist will fulfill my need to see people, interact with then and help them (maybe even socially). My boyfriend is in psychology and I think he’s ENFJ too. We both talk so much hahaha! I always considered myself very intuitive and I listen to my heart a lot and at the end, I don’t regret it! People sometimes think I am naive because I care. When I see someone crying, I find myself crying with them, it’s annoying 🤷🏻‍♀️ please make some other videos about ENFJs.

    ENFJ
Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group and provide inspiring leadership.

Another thing I like about ENFJs is how boundary-conscious they are. The most outgoing among them might have a certain tendency to over-share certain things but it’s only out of concern, not a meaningless and poisonous urge to gossip about everyone in their immediate surroundings. Anyone whose dominant function is extraverted sensing I’m going to be wary of by default because they’re the types who value boundaries and confidentiality/personal space the least (by far). Their Se makes them too honed-in to their environment and what everyone in it is saying and doing even if those things bring no value to their internal compass (which is hardly even developed to any appreciable degree in people like that).

There's a serious lack of ENFJ videos on youtube. It would be cool if there would be more channels. My girlfriend is an ENFJ and although I understand her very well, it would be interesting to see way more examples of what other ENFJ's are like.
I dislike the celebrity-mbti -type-thing, because it's pretty much all speculation and if anything, celebs are great are portreying themselves a certan way, while it's harder to see what they're really like at home.
Since most people who make MBTI videos focus most on their own type, it would be cool to see more ENFJ youtubers

When looking at personality types, it’s important to remember people will still act differently in different environments. The UA-cam that you mentioned could be under a lot of stress, or might not know online etiquette :) there are always lots of explanations, which is why personality tests are meant to reflect early childhood behaviours, and your are meant to respond with how you tend to act (eg an enfj feeling uncertain at work could display more introverted behaviour0. They could also be borderline enfj too

Finding out all this info about different MBTI types, and what he said really grounded me in the face of it.
“Types describe how you interact with the world and other people. Not who you are or what you’re supposed to be.”
It’s not a cage that you have to find yourself in. It just attempts to ascribe ways you interact with different aspects of the world, really. A refreshing thing to hear as someone still figuring a lot of stuff out. So don’t go too heavy on the MBTI stuff, guys. ✨💖💜💙 P.S I don’t usually make YT comments lolol

About the example on extraverted feeling in regards to opinions, I would like to argue that taking into account the other person's opinion helps steer me in how I share my own. It's not that my opinion change, but my delivery. Most subjects have nuanced answers anyways and listening to others help me see what valuable opinions to share on my part to aid them into understanding my perspective or to boost their own self-image (which in this case is more important of a value than to settle on an independent opinion on a nuanced topic).

It's strange to hear, the thing about supressing some ideas just to not making sb close upset about yourself. As a ENFJ (by 16 personalities test - i make it once a year and have this type still) i must say that's exacly why i broke my relationship with girlfriend, I knew that i would need to supress my needs for fighting for some ideas in world around me or even stop talking about them just for sake of her comfort and not making her mad. It was so hard for me to make those decisions, be always in between love for her and ideas thats needs to be done. I left the relationship and feel somehow better but feel so bad about dissapointing her and her trust in me. But... Things need to be done.

This would've been me before addressing my trauma caused by childhood emotional neglect and parentification. No more taking care of society's "wet kittens," because people just need to figure out themselves. (And that intuition was my hypervigilance - knowing patterns and managing outcomes.) This way of existing is very unbalanced, and can lead to burnout and resentment.

Sounds a bit like my sister. Me and her are ENFJ’s, but unlike her I am much more open minded and less critical than her. She struggled hard highschool time and kind of isolated herself from people. She told that she feels misunderstood and kind of lost faith in a lot of people. She dug herself deep into Ti that lead to be much more cold and sceptical.

I think an insecure ENFJ has hard time being patient and tries to look for quick answers. Altho I think that wouldn't make the person rude but I think you can see they're disconnected. I'd say that the best way to deal with this is to dumb down your analyticalness and just go thru all the feelings you've had and maybe talk about them with someone.
I'm also pretty sure that my type is ENFJ but in this case I guess it doesn't really matter.

I think people like us appreciate kind, loving connection because we rarely had it as children.

But having to interact with new people drain me so much because I get extremely shy and anxious if I will say or do something wrong, so I'm usually misunderstood as an introvert. I feel like INFJs unite the idealistic humanitarianism and empathy between them and both ENFX types in a sort of humane abstraction to a level of profundity whereas ENFJs do what INFJs tend to lack to lack the concrete social confidence and ENFPs the hands-on, non-quirky pragmatism to do by default. I love ENFJs like die.

    Hi Asura MBTI,
Would you please elaborate on the ENFJ propensity to over analyze? Also, what is “introverted thinking fear grip” that ENFJ’s are prone to? I never heard of that before and it sounds interesting.
I do suffer from over analyzing peer group conflicts and slights. However, I vehemently disagree with the assertion that logic is not a ENFJ strong suit. I often find myself at odds with many of my peers, who are more emotional debaters - while I can be logical to a fault. Even with topics or values where I feel convinced about, I still can at least understand how my opponent can believe the opposite opinion respectfully and without demonization.

I have.a question to the ENFJ in the comment section. I have been placed into this group...i have also gotten INFJ . I fall between both... and i wonder if this is because I’m an ambivert .I am not an introvert or an extrovert. I don’t fall on one side... I’m both....so no matter how many times I do this quiz...i get both 😵😑
One thing i noticed... i am extremely nice. I value education and that people should focus on growth every day. I value harmony above all else. HOWEVER, when i am arguing... and confronted by a toxic person....I’m a straight up savage and will make someone cry (I don’t feel proud about this... but its the reality of things). Recently... someone has been trying to make my group of friends really depressed. I had gotten tired of her tactics...and made sure i cut her off. She went crazy on me...and for the sake of the fact i wanted her to grow...and learn her lesson. I was brutally honest with her about her personality and made her cry. I didn’t feel bad..until i got home. But.. deep down... i value growth and education....so i didn’t regret my choice because I enjoy the challenges in life. Before someone thinks I’m a terrible person, i did this because she spoke poorly about an elderly person who died. She was insensitive to the fact of how she died and i thought it was truly disrespectful to the lady who passed away and the family that must have been affected by the tragedy. :(
This scenario makes me wonder if i don’t fall into this group. BUT... everything else....does appear like me...
Are there any ENFJ out there who feel that they are tolerable of people...BUT have no tolerance for certain behaviours?

I love your content however I'd disagree with the notion that logic isn't an ENFJs strong suit; it's actually the function I possess in the highest magnitude (rated by CPT) and the elucidation of the 'cognitive' ENFJ in general. Ironically on the behaviourally imbued MBTI tests I test as an INTJ as they often conflate behaviour with cognition. Fe and Ti are inextricably linked; indeed Fe acts at the behest of a Ti agenda. My axis is particularly fluid at 50/50 meaning I can easily oscillate on my axis to present as a Ti dom; I'm a fantastic analyst, philosopher, mathematician etc all of which require a high Ti precision. If I wasn't typed by Harry from CPT I'd never have considered ENFJ due to the Ti inferior stereotypes...it's certainly not my weakest link! I'm also an enneagram 5w6; I perhaps don't relate to a lot of the stereotypes in general for this reason. I think it would be worth looking at CPTs fluid Ni-Ti model of as opposed to the static conception of functions operating on a 1,2,3,4 etc basis. The ENFJ has conscious Fe-Se and Ni-Ti (a perceiving function is meaningless without being adjoined to a codec of the same orientation). Sorry I dislike MBTI due to its static nature and the illogicalities thereof for this very reason. It's also worth noting that CPTs empirical studies suggest that the oppositional function is only suppressed in around 20% of people. Ironically my Ni-Ti is by far more convergent and conscious than my Fe-Se primary pairing. I think many, many people mistype due to misconceptions about cognition. I have to say I'm not particularly people centric - I'd prefer to impact society via my Ni-Ti ideations as opposed to working directly with people (I'm a mental health professional & academic researcher). I don't value above all else harmonious interaction but rather the truth, irrespective of how people feel about it; again a well developed Fe (as opposed to people pleasing) acts at the behest of a Ti agenda. I think it's a misnomer to state that ENFJs lead with their emotions & morals first for this reason. It's also worth noting that I have suppressed Fi-Si so establishing what my values & emotions are can be difficult. It may well be fair to say that you're describing a particular subtype (say an ambiverted ENFJ INFP) well but this isn't applicable to all of your ENFJ subtypes; indeed I come across much more as a thinking type. I also wouldn't agree that I necessarily meet a middle ground - my Ti is much more exacting in standards. Oh, it's also worth nothing that Ni is no more subconscious than any other cognitive function and indeed it is highly conscious in my many cognitive types. Ni gets elevated to an insane level in the MBTI community when it's simply the broad internal perception of perceived information; logically speaking Ni isn't adjoined to Fe - you cant adjoin a perceiving function to a codec of the opposite orientation- it simply doesn't make logically cohesive sense. It's also worth noting that the Ni-Ti pairing is concerned, much in the same way as the INFJ, with global far reaching impact as opposed to a more immediate scenario (eg friends co-workers etc - this sounds more like the ESFJ to me). As an ENFJ my Fe-Se isn't as activated hence I'm much more of a social introvert; it's the gateways therefore that defines me as a cognitive ENFJ. Sorry, I didn't really relate to this videos content. The irony being, for say an INTP, Ti acts at the behest of an Fe agenda...I think we're probably the most private of all the types which Harry agrees with hence why, to some extent, material presented on us tends to be way off the mark. Uummmfff, ENFJs don't think through problems from an analytical perspective? Analytics is the bedrock of my cognition. Ti isn't a grip; indeed developing Ti is a necessary pre-requisite towards individuation and a fluid axis, hence I don't abide by MBTIs notion of the 'inferior'.
