Religions and relationships, I love to consider all perspective and seem to make decisions based on the common denominators, all the while trying to respect the differences. Great Video, will watch and re-watch as it is very detailed. Love it! Thank you so much.

    An absolutely exceptional job on this video Michael. You're doing phenomenal work changing people's lives for the better. All the ENFJs on here will likely grasp & adopt the concepts & frameworks behind your videos them to eventually & hopefully spread & translate them to the masses, diligently. At the very least, I surely will.
    A piece of advice to all ENFJs, what you see right in front of you is exactly what is best for you. There will come a time where you will understand why things happened the way they did. You are all anchors for other types' happiness. No wonder it takes so long for us to make sense of all of it.

      This is was so eloquently put, thank you! I'm a divergent ENFJ in CPT so my Ti-Ni is the pairing I possess in the highest conscious magnitude & I feel that we're often very much misinterpreted as these hyper feeling types & phonies when we're actually a truth seeking type as our Fe acts at the behest of a Ti agenda. Michael pointing out that we're extremely philosophical was on point; we're invariably well read due to our Ti-Ni in the sciences, humanities etc as we seek to make sense of the world around us.

      Just because you obsess over a function doesn't mean it is the strongest for you. In fact, it is the exact opposite. Your strongest function is something you naturally employ every day without thinking about it or worrying how good you are at it.

      @@sibestfunction4400it's worth noting that I'm professionally typed as a divergent Ti-Ni ENFJ in CPT meaning I naturally lean into the divergent pairing more than Fe-Se; this can be resultant from epigenetic factors & genetics itself ie a natural predisposition...it's worth considering that there's a lot of intratype variation; I've always considered myself on the ISTP end of the spectrum. I do get your point completely re being much more balanced as I'm trying to work on my Fe-Se by getting out of my head more.

    • @AnyaAnnika67
      @AnyaAnnika67 Рік тому

      @@Hari-kx2ermy Ti-Ni is rated by CPT as the functional paring I posses in the highest conscious magnitude so it's more compulsive as opposed to obsessive as I'm a Ti-Ni ENFJ subtype; it's important to consider intratype variation although I do take your point re preference does not necessarily equate to strength. I also have a highly active Si-Ti subnetwork which consolidates my proficiency with Ti from both an Ni & Si standpoint (a codec such as Ti needs to be adjoined to a perceiving function in order to evaluate anything). I don't buy into the notion of the inferior MBTI employs as this isn't backed up by empirical observation or Jungs work but rather the concept of the oppositional proposed by CPT: Fe acts at the behest of a Ti agenda & I'd agree with CPT that from empirical observation, Fe-Ti users tend to have the most fluid axis meaning they can rotate on their axis to effectively become an ISTP or INTP in the ESFJs case in cognition. Just because someone is a Ti dom by the same token doesn't mean they're necessarily proficient in Ti-Si or Ti-Ni as predisposition isn't equivocal to proficiency (yes one may be more likely due to usage but the predicate isn't in the statement) and with that being said it's also worth pointing out that Ti-Si (concrete incremental logic) and Ti-Ni (holistic abstract logic) are quite different in how they operate. The goal of Jungian individuation is to bring all of the functional pairings into conscious recognition and as cognitively fluid beings, as neuroplascity would support, we are capable of expanding our cognitive networks. I do agree with what you're saying albeit with some caveats 😊

    @16:00 Se denotes opportunism (i.e. ability to adapt to and make benefit of immediate/present circumstances), therefore, ENFJ can make better use of the present environment and people in it to achieve his/her ideal/goals. He/she has better capacity to rally/direct people as well as modify tactics in real time as the circumstances change.
    Se-inferior types live out of phase of the present and are quite poor adapting to its changing circumstances.
    Se is primal instinct to survive, "will" as some philosophers name it.

    Emphasizing Fe as actively persuading others is a big improvement.
    The common idea of Fe as copying others or a "harmony" function as it is commonly referred to by MBTI practitioners contradicts Socionics and my own Socionics-like model. Rather, harmonizing in the sense of copying behaviors for the sake of copying would primarily be an aspect of +Si in a Socionics and DCHN (Dominating Creative Harmonizing Normalizing) sense.
    Indeed, DCHN classifies Fe's focus on persuasion as a Dominating function, like Te, not as a Harmonizing function.

    • @AnyaAnnika67
      @AnyaAnnika67 Рік тому

      I agree albeit from a Cognitive Personality Theory perspective: Fe acts at the behest of a Ti agenda as both are on an inextricable axis. Indeed Fe doms can be some of the most contrarian types. We also need to consider intratype variation; im a divergent ENFJ in CPT meaning my Ti-Ni is the pairing I possess in highest conscious magnitude making me much more ISTP like. MBTI is such a static model & Fe descriptions are skewed in favour of the ESFJs Fe-Ne as opposed the specificity of the ENFJs Fe-Se. Great shout that Fe is a persuading function when it comes to the ENFJs Fe 😊

I can relate deeply to most thinking personality types but mostly to the traits of ENFJs. I think it's okay to be a little blended but I would like black and white answers because I have too many gray answers and it's exhausting always thinking about which one I correlate with the most. I, as an total ENFj, never felt described more accurate than in this video and learned through all the over videos a lot about typology Mr. Benefactor (I guess you are ENTp) ;-)
    It´s funny how we always try to harmonize people through Fe, but sometimes are way to direct and even brusque when judging about people through unconscious Se and Ti and therfore sabotage ourselves. I experienced this a lot in the last time :o
    I´m still waiting for the ESFJ and the ESFP to complete this series. I have questions for both, but first need to explain the context:
    I try to find an antique philosopher, writer or statesman (mostly greek or roman) for every type. This is inspired by the socionics tradition to give the types a name of a well known historical or fictional person, the problem is most people in western culture nowadays don´t know those figures...
    I successfully did for every type instead for ENFp, ESFp and ESFj:
    ENFp: I thought about Seneca, because of his critique of Epicurs rational understanding of friendship. Sound a lot like Fi for me...
    ESFp: I go with the socionics assumption of Caesar being an ESFp, because he doesn´t seem to me like a visionary (in contrast to Aristotle an ENTj). More like an self-fullfilling opportunist with his very own morale-code. The thing is Caesar just wanted power for it´s own sake. An ENTj would seek power to structure the world with logic criteria (of course deeply based on his own ethical criteria).
    ESFj: Probably the hardest on, because they aren´t that much driven to philosophy or literacy and aren´t very ambicious concerning politics. I thought about Ovid because of his bonvivant-nature and his fundemental critique for Augustus moral reforms (ISTp woud be his supervisee).

    As an ENFJ the details I pick up on that is difficult to explain to the types that do not function with Ni is that I seem highly “in tune” to environmental changes. The best example is that I pick up on energy change, mood, sound, inflect behind a seemingly simple comment.
    For example: to relate that I think someone made a derogatory remark is weighted by their inflect, energy, body stance, mood, facial expressions etc. behind the comment.
    It’s very difficult to explain to someone why I sense what I do.
    When I attempt to explain these details behind my thinking someone made a derogatory remark often overwhelms those types who do not have the Ni sensitivity. I see why they don’t understand me because they do not have this Ni function in their ‘primary functions’, as I do not have dominant Se….
    Understanding the finer details m, as you, explain here is very helpful in understanding myself and others. Very wholly beneficial.
    Thank you for the deep dive into Myers Briggs typology, especially the Ni (introverted intuition functions).

    • @AnyaAnnika67
      @AnyaAnnika67 Рік тому

      Completely agree albeit I'd say this is due to the specificity and nuance of the Fe-Se pairing (the ESFJs Fe-Ne sacrifices depth for breadth of scope in CPT) hence why we're attuned to micro nuance. It was a surprise to me to learn through CPT that not everyone experiences the world this way. I'm currently having issues with boss due to picking up on such nuances & as you say it's very difficult to articulate this to other people as it's the inflection, body language etc as opposed to what she's saying in & of itself. I can often find social situations very exhausting for this reason as it's like the 6th sense you can't shut off.

I'm an INFP, and every time we argue, he pulls some crazy correlation between the argument and some "greater than life" underlying moral principle to show me why I am wrong and how I'm missing the bigger picture. We argued one time about MMA and he correlated that to ancient roman gladiators killing each other just reskinned for modern times and that it's wrong(which is a cool correlation in my opinion, but geez to judge people for watching it that harshly, come on!). But later he watched Ronda Rousey get knocked out. Oh my gosh. Thanks Mike Pierce. Also my friend is VERY drawn to eastern monks and Buddha, you hit the nail on the head with that one. Having all these expressions displayed in the modern age, within a "cage" or performance setting intrigues many people. Unfortunately it is one that requires violence, much like other sporting events. I love it. It's one of my biggest passions. Dichotomosly, it hurts to see another man or woman suffer from a loss or injury. As a whole, it may be one of the greatest forms of both mental and physical expression. I'd rather spin that and say the notion of 'justice' and 'truth' is not necessarily something that people are receptive to, especially as Fe acts at the behest of a Ti agenda, many can perceive us as too impartial & even devils advocates; at least I am. I think the propensity towards rationalism is often down played when it comes to the ENFJ. It can be a lonely road when many people have their own subjective agendas (and I can totally appreciate why) that they're antagonistic to an objective overview which we aim for (or at least as objective as is humanely possible). Many people due to the inner orientation of our Ti-Ni are not aware of our highly abstract cerebral side due to our Fe-Se personable persona 😊

    This was an exemplary elucidation of the ENFJ albeit the only aspect I have some reservation for would be the notion of Ti inferior. I'm typed by CPT as a divergent ENFJ meaning my Ti-Ni pairing is the pairing I possess in the highest conscious magnitude as my axis is particularly fluid. It's worth noting that Fe-Ti types tend to have the most fluid axis or rather propensity towards fluidity - well according to CPT which from experience I happen to agree with. I do agree with the notion however that they have a synergistic relationship. I'm often mistaken for an ISTP or INTP because of my Ti-Ni convergence, in part due to my Fe-Se being much more directive in nature. Although this content does address this directly (which I appreciate you can't capture everything), it's important to consider the variability of intratype variation. My twin is a default ENFJ and therefore we're cognitively quite different people; convergent Fe-Se subtypes are even more so. I'd also like to add that Ti can only be properly elucidated when adjoined to a perceiving function, hence for the ENFJ Ni acts at the behest of a Ti agenda: they are holistic/abstract cerebral thinkers compared to the incrementalism say of the INTPs Ti-Si. That being said I do have a highly conscious ISFJ auxillary network so my Si-Ti convergence is high in conscious magnitude. Apologies I'm not ripping to pieces this content I thought it was exceptional I just wanted to point out a few caveats that are worth mentioning 😊. I would add that the compulsion for Ti truth seeking is on point!

I had some guy go nuts at me cos I politely told him that we can't put neurotypicals & neurodivergence into these binary constructs & start assigning behaviourally imbued ubiquitous stereotypes to them based on such erroneous over generalisations; the fact that I even drawn parallels between us all as a human species really hit him hard as he'd like to keep the neurotypicals in the respective 'evil box' (I'm neurodivergent by the way so was perceived as a traitor)...sorry for the impromptu tangent...I just can't stand it when people aren't even receptive to rationale thought & take what I say as being implicitly offensive

    Thank you for your eloquent description, Mr. Pierce. I, too have been waiting on you for some time now. I understand the references to enfj potentially "pushy" sort of description when talking to fi, and I very well will admit I have little patience for those who think but don't act. I did not like the idea of the stick figures stumbling over their own ti, as if the general prototype of the enfj is not made to utilize a function that works in tandem with Fe as part of its own design. It comes across as if you believe a star fish will stumble over one of its five arms, when it to not have that appendage would change the entire organism, ontologically. I also disliked the borrowing of the sword from infp. John lennon, if truly infp, had a sword, however i find their subjective explanation in moral reasoning to be completely made up. They are just flying up there in the sea of neat awareness and in the mean time never make moves. You have to make moves.

      I take it you're not that much Fe friendly? I loved the star photo and I would definitely agree. We are not so fussy as all of the rest of what you're saying here... We will be your truest friend and your truest enemy. If you don't know where you stand with an enfj, chances are you aren't observant enough to figure out why or patient enough to simply ask. In those kinds of situations, enfj can produce lion side qualities. Most enfjs evolve out of this rock and hard place with non feeler or fi types. Eventually we become transcendent ray Charles to the bsh

      +Grand Master Yoda yes. I did say that I have had some run ins with fi users that totally upset me. It is confusing because fi is authentic to the self and I value that very much but some or most fi users I have met do not make any use of the subjective feeling. It doesn't change their attitude and in doing so change their environment! What's the point of being effected by the world's problems if you just use the experience to augment your own personality. Fi throws itself into nooks and crannies, and applies itself to niche, yet suffers all the time for it than is thankful and mystified by that. I just can't get over that and then if you add a value judgement that an fi user will place on me for not being that way is so so boring! Frustrating

    • @teacupnoir

      +Grand Master Yoda I'm very annoyed that people tend to think they will "unmask" an enfj by taking a part their functions----you can't do it. A grounded enfj will effect ppl and that's not manipulation it's just what comes natural to us, it's like our view of human nature.

    Hi Michael not a criticism at all but I'm surprised you didn't mention a lot of the overlaps & similarities between the ENFJ & ISTP especially with regards the SeNi axis indeed both types are incredibly perceptive when it comes to the psychology of people. It's one of my favourite past times with a fellow ISTP friends. I think whilst yes INFJs are incredibly aware on an intellectual/logical level their limited Se engagement can struggle to pick up on subtle nuances in real time, a problem which the ENFJ & ISTP don't have. I'm a proponent of CPT & don't believe in the concept of MBTIs inferior function so I'm not saying this is applicable to all INFJs albeit I will agree with Harry & say INFJs are, as an INFJ himself, logically not emotionally predictive of others. INFJs will often have to retreat back to their NiTi to formulate a solution/insight whereas the ISTP & ENFJ can do this in real Se time.

      I think he might be an INFP, actually. He formally studied philosophy and many of his videos seem to be a Ne-Si cherry-picking of sorts, and filtered through his own Fi. Inferior Te can sometimes manifest itself as, "this specific Fi experience and value is applicable to EVERYONE, because I understand this because I've felt it." he doesn't necessarily have his own insights, he refers to already established Te philosophy, and presents it through Fi filters. In a Ne-Si way, many of his videos have the same fundamental POINT but he sees each extrapolation of how it can manifest as different.

If other enfj's are like my friend (which is probably the case because this video describes my friend perfectly) then when they are in the grip of Ti they can be incredibly dangerous people. Recently my friend has gone into an extended period of being in the grip and they have become incredibly foolish and incapable of being reasoned with. They have become intolerant of other's opinions and feelings for the sake of a moral high ground. One that they have been unsuccessful in proving is relevant or exists. It has resulted in them fueling the harassment of others. Its depressing and mind boggling to watch. I may not have had good experiences with fe doms to be honest because my former bes friend's behaviour wasn't unique.
      The other enfj I knew was the type to complain about drama and gossip all while being the type to start the drama and gossip. He also liked trigger jokes and hated people who were telling the truth but were unpleasent about it, yet liked people who lied constantly but wre nice about it. It was tiresome.
      My ex boyfriend was an esfj whom I dated because I have no self respect. He was the stereotype of what people think home schooled kids are like. A bad education where bible thumping replaces actual curriculum. He grew up in an environment where his thoughts and opinions were never valued so he never developed his lower functions. He was horrifically racist. He talked about lynching mexicans and committing genocide on gay people. he denied the holocaust he believed in creationism. Just the worst. if you challenged what he thought he would insult you instead of actually defend himself. But the thing is, most people would have never known he believed such vile things. His fe was able to pick up on the fact voicing those things wouldn't make him friends. Yet Fe also couldn't make the logical step to get rid of those beliefs. Because he never developed any critical thinking skills many people scammed him over and over. Being an obedient follower worked as a kid but failed him in adulthood.
