An absolutely solid run. Small thing on Free Gateway but otherwise amazing. I'll be done with this category for now so I can move onto more Yuri's Revenge.

Remember back in early 2000s the loading time alone will take 10 mins each mission for my PC.

I remember playing this and I guess when my dad copied it onto my computer from the original disc the cutscenes never worked or played so there were lots of arkward moments at the end of campaigns where it said "incoming transmission" then they just stood there for 30 seconds doing nothing.
That's because your dad probably was using a bootleg copy of the game without the cutscenes. I also have a bootleg copy of the game but i found the cutscenes and added them to the game.

synal Soviets lost their only building, so they were defeated.
So the map builders of these missions actually hide these "shortcut" ways to trigger victory on purpose for speedrunners? It seems to be the case with most of these missions which does not require you to wipe every enemy off the map.

37:50 Hm. Maybe you could build a lone Rocketeer as fodder, or perhaps do some shenanigans to group the planes closer together. I noticed that some flak boats zoomed towards the planes; are they just on a patrol, or do they attack the first flying thing over the water?
Also, is it not worth waiting for the initial far-away miners to profit from any far-off gems in that mission? They could simply teleport back to the main refinery by themselves once done mining.

What the hell going on on mission deep sea? What was the objective? What did you do? Did you cheat?
The mission is set up so the Soviets lose if they have no buildings. The intention is you must destroy their base. However they supposedly start of with no buildings so to stop them losing straight away they actually start of with that one sentry gun.
If Westwood wanted to fix this they could have added a rule to that mission that the Soviets can't lose before e.g. 2 minutes into the mission. OTOH normally the player would never get there fast enough to notice the difference so maybe the designers thought it wasn't worth fixing (it might be easy harder to fix than it looks) or that the speed running potential was funny.

This would ruin the game for me ... i love rts games and playing them as it should relaxed building a nice base etc...

then you joined a multiplayer game and get rushed and defeated under 5 minutes... :D that was my experience, when i discovered i've been playing strategy games all wrong. it's not about building slowly and "nice base", but effective and fast control of the units, funds and buildings. oh, the reality check of playing strategy games online :D

I believe they work with the fan patches, otherwise you can get the whole series on Origin for $20. I personally played it through VMware since the game demands fullscreen and I only have one monitor to play on.

I think every additional barracks makes unit production times decrease with 25 %, but I don't know how much this stacks if you have many.

I did find that weird for a while and never found what caused it. Still, I recently beat that mission's time with a reinstall which seems to have fixed the problem.

Hey, How can I install the game on windows 8. I'd be really gratefull if someone helped me, i've tried every damn tutorial on the internet!
I found the game to be a pain in the arse to deal with. I eventually went with using an XP virtual machine so I could play windowed without any complications. It's fairly convoluted to setup so it may be out of your scope from what you're looking to do.
If you've tried every online tutorial, the problem might be rooted in your Windows setup/registry.
ROMaster2 i've created an Windows xp virtual machine using the virtual box emulator and couldn't run the game properly.
It didn't crashed, but didn't show any video response, only played the intro audio with blackscreen.
Weird. What kind of XP disc and VM software did you use?
I know this is a old comment but what’s actually blocking red alert 2 from installing and playing is the safe disc drm that has been disabled by Microsoft on windows vista and later due to security risks

Why is the time in the title different from the final time shown in the timer program?
The timer program showed real time. The series uses a different timing method that removes the times between the missions so that it only accounts for the actual time played.
That was also my guess, but I was not sure (quite new to the speed run thing). Thanks!

I have most of the Mental Omega Act 1 Allied Campaign routed out; missions 4 and 12 needs more optimizing. Once I can manage a run of that I'd more likely move onto the other campaigns.
Why built multiple barracks
To speed up infantry production.

All three of what specifically? If you mean Tiberium Wars it shouldn't take longer than 3.5 hours total for GDI, Nod, and Scrin campaigns.
