the terror drone can't flip because its image is an SHP file, like infantry. Only VXL units (like most vehicles) can flip
also, there's a commented out line in rulesmd.ini which, if put back in, allows brutes to flip tanks over, which is cool but pretty overpowered.
Up until a few MONTHS ago, I DIDN'T KNOW that the VEHICLES AND BUILDINGS ARE ACTUALLY 3D!
Is the Terrain a combination of 2D and 3D?
This reminds me of the Original Doom!
***** buildings are 2d, unless they have turrets, in which case the "body" of the building is 2d and the turret is 3d
the images for the terrain are rendered as 2d, but the cells they are laid over are 3d
old, but the vehicles are voxels.
Hi, I was actually looking for the lines in rulesmd.ini that control the flipping, but I can find it nowhere. Do you know what line it is can could you help me? BTW, I was developing a mod using hurricane weapon to flip tanks. So I'd appreciate it if you can show me how to code this animation :)
Is there any difference between a pill box and a sentry gun? They have identical stats, but I think the pillbox does not have to rotate to shoot.

Unfortunately no, I tried it just now. It just pretty much stands still because the rockets on each side cancel each other out :( Would have been good though.

I have been playing red alert for more than ten years. This is the first time that flip over cause "unit lost"
I loved this, I've actually never seen this before in RA2 or YR!

The Terror Drone isn't a voxel, hence why it doesn't work.
+Nyerguds I think it acts as a infantry unit which is why it can enter flak tracks
+Skyler Miller It's a VehicleType with a smaller Size (how many slots are filled in a transport) than other vehicles like tanks have. The Size is why it can enter flak tracks.
***** i thought that at first then i remembered the the rhino tank when on a hovercraft holds a space of 3 units and if that was the case it would be able to enter the flack track but it doesn't sadly
Yuri disc in ground can be flip over?
That's because the Flak Track has SizeLimit=2.
This means that only units that have Size=2 or smaller are allowed to enter. The NightHawk also has SizeLimit=2.
Terrordrones are a SHP (Image) not a VXL (Voxel (model made out of 3d Pixels)) so you cannot flip them.

It never occurred to me that you could flip these units over, ever!
I had a hunch things can flip with enough force, I often make enemies close to tipping over by accident but I never tried it with static targets and enough force to flip something, so I didn't know things would explode if it flips. Lol

Cause I've never seen it. I did use a lot of V3 to shoot over bridges, often times into shroud when there was gap generators. As you can see inmy Arctic Circle vid.
Perhaps I've just never seen it 'cause I've never used a map or fog hack when I played.

What will happen if you put a tank besides the flipping take? explode together?
5 minuts of this video are wasted time because you "check" the weight of various units just go and shot the required amount of missiles if u know it. But a very nice video at its core =)

If I remember correctly, I used a cheat program that allows you to make whatever unit from any faction, including hidden/unused units that Westwood for some reason decided to disable when the game was released. I've forgotten what that program was (been a while since I made this vid) but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to google.
lol why did the old games do EVERYTHING better
because they have been crafted by legends! I cant think of i single game past 2010 that became a great one which u would thurst after when u put it aside. ( Shooters excluded)

TheSillyPotato Found out it's a Howitzer, it was a cut unit you can place in the map editor. It was meant to be like Mobile artillery from RA1. It was to be exclusive to South Korea, but its role as artillery was replaced by the Prism Tank, and the Black Eagles in terms of being South Korea's exclusive. It is also believed it's sprite was later turned in to the Tank Destroyer.
On another note I find it odd that it looks like it uses the Soviet color scheme, but it was apparently clearly meant to be an Allied unit.

No, just the official versions. You can download a lot of mods from www.moddb.com but I've read that some of them don't work on this version of RA2/YR. The best mod for YR is currently Mental Omega, which you've probably already heard of.

If you're gonna download a mod i suggest you get Mental Omega mod it's the best Ra2 and YR mod out there. Even Adds a Campaign for Yuri ;)
