Yes agreed. It’s sad that they didn’t release this movie in the theaters and let Snyder finish his trilogy. It had all the makings of a blockbuster. Also Darkseid putting his hand around Snyder in the knightmare vision has to do with the former gaining control of the Anti life equation , killing lois lane and mind controlling a broken superman to his will.
It wasn't Supermans Baby because it wasn't developed yet because Superman has super hearing and X-Ray vision he would have known. Plus Superman was dead for a while. (It was said to have been Batmans Baby)💡🤷♂️
Darkseid had his Hand on Supermans shoulder in the vision because it was showing what will happen If Superman is brought back to Life and the Earth does Not Explode. Superman will submit and work for Darkseid which is why Superman was holding his Mask in the beginning of the vision after Wonder Woman's death 💡👍(Nothing had Anything to do with The Flash missing with TIME)
It’s a long story but here goes: Zack Snyder had fought Warner Brothers over the entire duration of filming this movie. They were constantly meddling behind the scenes, changing the script, sending Executives to watch over the production and supervise his decisions, etc. After the critical reception of BVS, Warners was afraid of the darker tone of his films and wanted to emulate Marvel going forward. Zack shot 99% of his movie with an original runtime of 214 minutes (3 hours and 34 minutes) before tragedy struck. Zack’s daughter Autumn passed away to suicide and he needed to step away from the director’s chair. Behind the scenes, Warner Brothers was being sold to AT&T. There were a number of executives, including CEO Kevin Tsujihara who knew their time would be up at the end of 2017, and the film was set to release on November 17 of that year. So, rather than delaying the shoot to allow Zack to leave, grieve, and return to finish Post, they hired Joss Whedon to finish the movie. Tsujihara mandated the movie be cut down to a 2 hour runtime to allow more theater screenings and for the tone to be hugely “lightened up”, tonally, visually and with dialogue. Whedon decided he didn’t or couldn’t do that with the footage already taken, and so reshoots began. He filmed 60% of the theatrical version, leaving just the bones of Zack’s story beats to prop up his new cut. This is how we got Mustachegate with Henry Cavill, no Cyborg story arc, idiotified Flash, the random Russian family, Ben Affleck straight out of his rehab, Gal Gadot made to be no more than eye candy and a whole list of other actors being cut from the movie all together. The Theatrical Version was a shitshow and a massive missed call by the studio. The likes of Geoff Johns, Ann Sarnoff, Toby Emmerich and Walter Hamada all played key roles in the mismanagement and mistreatment of the film and its actors on set, along with Whedon. Once fans saw the movie in 2017, we knew something wasn’t right, and the “Release the Snyder Cut” campaign began. With enough fan noise, and to this day raising over $1,000,000 for Suicide Prevention, the leadership at AT&T finally decided to work a deal with Snyder to let him finish HIS movie. They gave him a $70 million dollar budget to finish all the VFX and shoot the apocalypse scene at the end of the movie. He took $0 in salary. On top of that, he chose to make his version a true “director’s cut” and added back 30 minutes of footage he had originally cut for time. If he was going to tell his story, he was going to tell all of it. That’s how we got this 4 hour version. I am personally grateful for the chance to witness a piece of art that so many people worked so hard to create. Zack’s tragedy struck home with me, as I’ve lost some of those closest to me to suicide as well. This film was dedicated to his daughter and truly is his vindication for the wrongs done upon his family during those hard times. Thanks for your guys’ reaction and if you made it this far into my post you’re better men than most! Lol see you guys in your next one, peace! 🤙🏽
If only the "Release the Ayer Cut" movement for the original Suicide Squad had gotten the same amount of traction that the "Release the Snyder Cut" movement got...would've been interesting to see how drastically different those two movies would've been.
@@WraithWTF I‘d still love to see Ayer’s cut too, actually. If I know anything in this world, it’s that his would undoubtedly be the superior version. I wish the suits at Warner Bros, and all the other studios for that matter, would keep their grubby hands off of these projects and let the artists make their art.
@@daxk9160agreed...when it comes to comic book movies, the suits really need to learn to sit down, shut up, and just let the nerds make the movies...sadly, their greed and their egos just won't let them do that (for the most part).
I'm very grateful you shared all this info, and sadly, I will admit I didn't even know until I saw their reaction that a Snyder cut movie even existed. I'm definitely going to try to find it now to watch. Thank u so much for all this back story bout the film. That's so horrific what the studio did to this man's vision.
The fact that Whedon and the studios decided the movie didn't need Cyborgs arc, which is the heart of the whole film, as well as Barry's epic reversal of time, is almost criminal.
don't forget about all the negative press Whedon was spouting about Snyder's CGI Steppenwolf - which was all over the internet. And we went along with it... until we got Whedon's Steppenwolf, and it was BAD. The Snyder CGI Steppenwolf was so friggin cool. Loved it. So much better
cant fully blame whedon here no way studio wouldve approved the movie to be this long to include all of that first time around. even if snyder was in charge the whole time it probably wouldnt have been this long or good
@@seandevol3078 You kinda can when he cut those scenes out to add all of that painfully boring Russia stuff and a bunch of pervy jokes. That doesn't even tackle the horrible saturation and deciding to totally revamp Steppenwolf
@@seandevol3078the fact that wheddon himself forced a stunt double to push the same scene he made from avengers about a man falling on a women's chest because the women wonder actress herself was uncomfortable speaks volumes 💀
It’s cool but can’t stand the actor and how they portrayed flash as a cringe dumb weirdo and how he runs is dumb . They made Wonder Woman cringe and acting bad too. Even if they’re like that in comments the flash show grant is so much better and isn’t cringe
You think the CW show ISN'T cringe? Okay sheep, okay. Ezra Miller may be controversial but he's always been an awesome actor, just watch "We need to talk about Kevin" and you'll see. As for wonder woman, if an accent makes someone "cringe" I'm just gonna assume you're racist. WW was one of the better superhero movies of the past decade.@@JHolland
Martian Manhunter is one of the original founding members of the Justice League. So cool that Snyder brought him into this just wished he had played a bigger part. Great reaction as always guys.
If you think about it, he played major roles in the whole Snyderverse trilogy. He helped the army fight zod in man of steel, helped Lois with her investigation that gave her crucial information to take down Lex in BvS and pushed Lois to be present at heroes park in zsjl that pretty much saved the team.
Zack Snyder didn’t even get paid so that he could keep full control over the content of his movies. Simply a great man. Hoping you guys may give this little fan a second chance to appreciate him and his works with your future reaction videos. Thanks to you too.
I wasn't aware of any of this.... I, like the Oak, went to see Justice League in theatres (even though I was hardcore into Marvel movies at that point) because it looked really cool in the trailers.... Soooo I dragged my brother with me to go see it. We both liked it, buuuttt weren't really wowed by it either. 🤷♀🤷♀🤷♀ It was meh. Something I'd maybe watch on cable tv if I was bored enough. I would hear mentions of a Snyder cut buuuuuttt that's the extent of my knowledge of this movie..... It wasn't until years later I started coming across clips of it and it looked soooo different..... Soooo.... I tracked down a copy of the Snyder cut to see what all the fuss was about. Annnddd BOY WAS I TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND MORE ENGAGING STORY!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN SOOO HAPPY THAT I GAVE SOMETHING NEW A CHANCE!!!!!!!!
“The dream” was actually a foreshadowing. If Zack Snyder would’ve been able to expand on the world, it would’ve shown this is what was happening because of Darkseid coming, what he mentioned he was going to do in the scene when they destroyed the Mother boxes. But the studio isn’t letting him come back to complete his vision of his “verse”. James Gunn is supposed to be starting his own from scratch, essentially eliminating ZSJL as WB’s DCU
The theatrical cut is crazy. They cut out hours of content, ADDED a whole bunch of reshoots, changed the soundtrack, and basically made a completely different movie.
Its always crazy to see, how mich better Steppenwolf is as a villain in this cut. He felt so one dimensional and even embarassing in the theatre version. He looks way cooler in this, he is way more brutal and menacing and they added so much more depth to his character to make him actually cool and enjoyable!
If you try to recall Batman vs Superman movie, there also was some alternative timeline. It's all connected with "dream" scenes and what Victor saw in this movie. Its all about when Superman lost Lois, as you noticed. I think its not a dream, it can be further future after they revived Clark
My theory is that Martian Manhunter was incepting these "Knightmares" into Bruce’s head the whole time. But that would mean Martian Manhunter would have an insight into the future, and maybe he has telepathy powers to be able to do that to Bruce which I’m not sure he has those powers. Well, that’s my theory.
@@A_Planner_and_a_Dreamer Martian Manhunter's powers? Seeing the future, no...telepathy and shape-shifting, yes, along with flight, increased strength and durability (not at Superman's power level, but close).
@@A_Planner_and_a_Dreamer My theory, is that Martian Manhunter telepathically linked with Flash as he came back through time in BvS, then linked with Bruce. He was telling him what was going to happen. This film clearly confirmed it was him.
This movie is definitely a 5 out of 5! One of the best superhero movies ever made, especially considering the struggle of even getting this one off the ground and everything behind it. So well done. The original justice league was straight garbage. And I dont say that about movies often. But this was stellar. You guys should honestly react to the original justice league and make fresh comparisons. I did that with my wife lol it would make a great reaction. Thanks for the reaction.
The sad part about this is that this timeline is not going to continue in movies because it was decided not to follow Zack's vision for the movies. My mind was blown when this movie ended, I mean, Superman is the bad guy? that has never been seen and now it is lost.
I am a huge DC fan. I collect a lot of DC comics old and new. Justice League Snyder Cut is one of my all time favorite comic movies. Darkseid is one of the most menacing villains of all time.
The premonition “dream” at the end of the movie, is a tear in space time from Barry traveling back to warn Bruce (in BVS and again in what would eventually be JL2 if it ever happened). Bruce is seeing what will happen when Darkseid takes over earth. He gains control of the Anti-Life Equation which gives him total control over the will power of any living thing he uses it on. What we are seeing is a timeline where Lois dies while under Bruce’s protection and Superman is so distraught with her loss that Darkseid takes control of his mind. He then uses Superman as his enforcer against Bruce’s resistance team. There’s a lot of plot left unfinished without JL 2 and 3, but you can look up the original story boards and find out what the whole story was. Great reaction guys!
Snyder's daughter Autumn ( he dedicated this cut of the film to her) died so he stepped away, and the studio, which at that time didn't have much confidence in the film, hired Joss Whedon ( Avengers and Age of Ultron) to finish it. Whedon reshot a lot of it, and Henry was making a Mission Impossible movie and that studio wouldn't let him shave his mustache for the reshoots, so that's why the theatrical cut looked so bad. They tried to CGI henry's mustache out and it just looked bad. Whedon also tried to add a lot of Marvel styled quippy humor, and pretty much cut Cyborg almost entirely out of the film... There was lots of bad blood between the cast and Whedon as well ( especially Ray Fisher who played Cyborg said Whedon was very disrespectful, racist and sexist and when he complined his part was mostly left on the cutting room floor), the talk was that Whedon was constantly bad-mouthing Snyder behind the scenes which didn't sit well with the cast. Just a lot of drama. The studio wanted the movie to look more like a Marvel movie and the styles just didn't mesh.
Another one of my favorite parts was the musical score by composer Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL. He worked with Hans Zimmer on both Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. He's one of the few people to know the themes for Superman and Wonder Woman very well. Glad he was able to finish the soundtrack for this one. It was so massive. It is nearly as long as the film itself too. Pretty much everyone has their own themes and each one kicks major ass. Like the cue that plays when the Justice League first fights Steppenwolf for example. Its got orchestra, electronics and heavy metal/hard rock. Half of the time, it felt like I either wanted to hit the gym or start a mosh pit lol. In fact, I've actually listened to the soundtrack a few times in the gym actually. You'd be surprised how it felt. All and all, this was such a good movie. Gave it a 9/10.
@@Blue_Eyed_Chippewa did you hear they are reshooting Aquaman 2 for the 3rd time DC is blaming the fans bc of test screens are failing it's like don't blame us we asked y'all to take her out you chose not to so suffer the consequences
This film was a dream come true to us Fan's!! The way Snyder kept the vibe of the DCU faithful. The DCU is gritty and grounded in real life. Dark, serious and beautiful. Definitely not a Marvel-esque style for DC. Snyder did the DCU proud and laid the very foundation for how other movie's should be treated. Its sad that WB decided to hire a Marvel director to head the DCU. IMO, they should have begged Zack Snyder to helm the DCU. I guess we'll never get our beloved DCU Dark. Complete bummer man... cheers guys!! Thanks for watching our beloved Zack Snyders version of The Justice League!
Love that we all got to see the Snyder Cut . Thank you for this review and glad you guys can honestly appreciate just how amazing this movie was . My only wish is that Snyder would get a chance at finishing his story with 2 more movies, but it’s not looking like that happen.
I can say with 100% certainty that if you watch the original 2017 release, you'll have even more respect for what Snyder did here. This version is superior in every single way. I'd love a theatrical release of this film.❤
It really does suck. He called out how he and others were treated on set by Whedon and he just had his reputation destoryed and Whedon called his acting crap and that's why he cut the whole Cyborg story. I'm glad we got this cut and see clear evidence that he was the heart of the entire movie.
when cavill revealed the "Black Suit" fans went crazy happy all over the media but than the movie showed up(studios vertion) with superman wear the regular suit . fans were very disappointed.
I've become such a fan of you guys. I really hope you do the pitch meeting for this it is fantastic. Can't wait to see more reactions especially the boys!
I don't know if you're both fathers, and by now you may have looked it up. But long story cut short is that Zack Snyder was almost done making the movie when his teenage daughter, Autumn, un alived herself. So he dropped everything and went to his family. The studio took it over, gave it to another guy, who changed many of the things he had planned. So this is him restoring his original vision, with very few more recorded things other than using unreleased footage and some new special effects, in the honor of his daughter. Hence the end, "For Autumn". This whole thing is very powerful for a dad.
As I recall it was supposed to be a trilogy, this one, second where they go against superman and the third when he's back good and they go against dark side. So that last bit was a teaser basically
All i know is that I need the 4 hour show. The reason being we're stuck at home. This was during the virus happening and all theater close and people start calling food/grocery delivery and Home movie? Yeah. I love bingeing a whole season series and long movies in one go. 😊
The Epilogue essentially sets up the next 2 movies, which Snyder will never make, but he explained the storyline. The Riddler solves the Anti-Life Equation (it allows controlling all beings) and takes it to Darkseid, who uses it to control Superman after Lois dies. Bruce wasn't able to save Lois, who was indeed pregnant, thus, the shot with him holding a charred body. However, knowing Barry can go back in time, they try several times, only for Bruce to realize he had to die to save all of them. Lois and Clark have a boy whom they name Bruce. The final shot is the couple taking their son to the batcave, thereby ushering in the new Batman.
Was supposed to be Green Lantern (John Stewart, not Hal Jordan) in the end instead of Martian Manhunter; they even shot the scene. But WB didn't allow them to as they had plans for Green Lantern(s) at the time. It would have made more sense, as Bruce's reaction in the whole scene was far too casual and relaxed for this alien coming to his home like that.
from the other side, it looks like that Bruce is so done at this moment with all that dreams and world saving that nothing can surprise him now) Like: "Another alien? Yeah, sure, whatever"
they never had plans for a green lantern and frankly never would, they just hate zack and the true dc fans of the films. fuck warner bros and fuck the marvel regime that’s in warners as well. fuck gunn
Funny thing: No signs of the lanterns until 2026 - with the strikes more likely to be 2027. But gatekeep that GL Scene in 2021... WBD is still so disillusional. They truly deserve all their losses since they departed from Snyder with the first aquaman Movie, which he still produced - also like WW1.
Basically the studio lost faith in Snyder after BvS mixed reception (despite them cutting 30 minutes to the theatrical cut and making it worse) and continued to interfere with his vision for Justice League throughout production and post-production. Then Snyder's daughter committed suicide in March 2017 and he lost the will to fight for the movie, so Warner Bros and DC took advantage of the situation and brought in Joss Whedon (director/writer of the first 2 Avengers movies) to rewrite and reshoot the movie in like 5 months (while also abusing the cast and crew throughout the process, bringing Ben Affleck to leave Batman's role). When you made the difference between the two cuts' runtimes you should've also counted the fact that like 45 minutes of the theatrical cut are Whedon scenes so you don't have just 2 hours of additional material but almost 3. Flash reversing time, Cyborg's backstory, Darkseid, Joker, Martian Manhunter, the black suit, Steppenwolf's backstory, Victor's father's death, Lois being pregnant,... all of that and much more wasn't in the theatrical cut. Warner Bros also mandated the 2 hours runtime so that they could have more showings at the theaters and make more money. It was really a shitshow. Unfortunately they didn't learn one bit and after the Snyder Cut released they immediately said it was just a cul de sac and there wouldn't be any sequel (no matter how successful it would've been) and said that the canon version in the DCEU would still be the theatrical cut, a fact that's been contradicted by The Flash movie which references Barry reversing time at the end of the Snyder Cut (something that again doesn't happen in the other cut). They really don't know what they're doing. The only way we can hope for some kind of sequel is in comic book/graphic novel form but since the new DC boss wants to close the bridges with any Snyder actor/character I find it unlikely.
I was shocked how much better this was than the original release. Which is weird, because many scenes are literally the same. Amazing what context and better color grading can do for a film. And having a singularity of vision.
They may "seem" same, but there's just about 16% of Snyder's footage in "Josstice" League from 2017. The rest were pretty bad reshoots to change dialogue to be "Marvel-like" (goofy and jokey, with oversexualised Wonder Woman scenes of chest-planting and ass-pov shots), some incredible stupid additions like Russian family that meant nothing overall (and still somehow lived in Chernobil, rooftop Batman-parademon scenes etc...), completely threw out soundtrack and replaced it with generic music (they didn't even use character themes, and music is like 50% of movie experience (MoS & BvS soundtracks are still unmatched to this day)) Overal plot is same, and actors are same, but these are completely different movies.
@@acuredreamgift So curious what the box office would've been. Four hours is very long for a super hero movie. But yeah it's the better film by far. Too many cooks in the kitchen. That was something I really learned in some film classes I took. Everyone's input is important...but there really needs to be one director and one over arching vision.
@@ct6852 if it came out back in 2017, it would not have been 4 hours cut. Original Snydercut was 214 minutes (3.5h), so I believe it would be ok as one of the Avengers movies was over 3h, as well as Oppenheimer, Avatar 2 etc. Snyder shot over 5 hours of material, when he was preparing this cut we got for HBO Max, he decided to put more stuff than he originally had to cut, and shot couple of minutes of new footage (joker in knightmare flash forward for example). Fun fact - Batman and Joker were not there at the same time for that scene, as well as Flash who was in London at the time so Snyder had to direct him over zoom call for his scene
This movie was everything. They told us it would never happen. They laughed at us and called us crazy, toxic fans that need to give up on a silly dream. they told us to accept the JOSStice League disaster. All these years later, we're marveling at Zack's genius. Not since the original Justice League the Animated Series, have these characters been showcased so perfectly. I'm so grateful we got this. #releasethesnydercut
I am the ones that called out the FCKD theatrical to this one and follow every uppdate and development around the "snyder cut". To get the announcement in 2020 was truly unbelievable. And the quality of the movie is incredible good. they redid 4h of effects and 3-4 minute additional photography for under 70 million bucks. Sure, there could be some more polishing on some parts, but overall this movie is a MASTERPIECE.
The two versions are so different, I would say it’s worth your time to watch the theatrical cut for the channel as well. It would be a really interesting experience to hear Mason’s thoughts having seen the Snyder Cut first.
The thing Darkseid actually wanted is Anti-life equation. It gives immense power. The actual Zack Snyder story for part 2 was Darkseid gets the Anti-life equation from Luther and Luis gets killed by Darkside in battle..She was pregnant (a story line Theory says it was Bruce's kid) Superman goes into trauma and Darkseid takes control of Superman. The whole world falls apart as shown in the end. If u remember, in 'Batman vs Superman Dawn of justice' there is a scene(kind of batmans dream) where Flash comes back in time and tells Batman "she is the key". Batman didn't understand it then..but leter batman understands it. Flash goes back in time again. When Darkseid tries to kill Luis, batman sacrifices himself and saves Luis. All this cool stuff we couldn't see coz... DC and WB fucked everything up.
The disrespect to martian manhunter LMAO!!! :D Zack knew after josh wedon his justice legue would need some intro on the characters so he made that 4 hour move. In Batman V Superman Bruce get the nightmare vision and again and again, like a warning. The visions they get are the ones that will happen if they do not change something, for batman its that he let louis die, and Darkseid went and ended the justice legue with the help of luthor, but betrays luthor, and the anti life is his, so when he touches superman when Louis is all hot and crispy, he controlls supermans mind and let him rage out on humanity. There is a storyboard on youtube that shows Zack snyders vision on Justice legue 2 and 3 and the movies in between how it was goin to happen and so on, so its fked up we didnt get it. Cuz the flash movie would have been so different, would be more like a live action from the flashpoint animated movie. O_O The thing about zack snyder is, his daughter died while doing the movie so he had to step out of it, and josh weedon came and ruin it, but after some time he got back in it with a lil budget and did his version, the snydercut.
i recently watched Snyder Cut and was wondering what "for Autumn" was and got to know from the comment section that "Autumn" was Zack's daughters' name and the whole story behind it . and man was it a shock
That scene always gives me goosebumps when they explains that motherboxes were afraid of Superman,i really wanted to see reaction of you guys on that scene❤
@Oak, why don’t you think it’d be impossible for Superman to impregnate Lois??? His whole purpose was meant to spread the genetics of Krypton around Earth. The DC movies keep failing because they are made by people that love money instead of the story, lore of any comic in general. The Batman vs Superman arc was always mad dumb. WB’s greed had them throw away a completed Batgirl movie that starred the TV show’s actress AND Michael Keaton in it for no reason even though a lot of fans had been eagerly awaiting it. You can see WB messing around even in THIS movie by bringing Jon the green Martian from Supergirl and Slade from Green Arrow randomly into the mix. They are preparing to mess up the story of Bizarro (evil Superman from the Superboy comics). They always have realizable fight scenes, but man, it’s like the studios LIVE to destroy DC lore. Bizarro from the pre-Crisis continuity was a result of a Professor Dalton demonstrating his duplicate ray to Superboy, Superman when he was teen. The duplicate ray created an imperfect duplicate of Superboy. Superboy regarded the imperfect duplicate of himself as bizarre. The creature misheard him and thought he said 'Bizarro' and took on the name Bizarro. The creature possessed chalky, white skin along with a childlike behavior. Melissa a blind girl was the only one who found beauty in Bizarro. However, the citizens of Smallville shunned Bizarro, Superboy was forced to kill the doppelganger with the remains of the duplicate machine though Bizarro collided into the machine destroying himself. The remains of Bizarro allowed Melissa to see for the first time. Later on after Superboy became Superman, Superman's arch foe, Lex Luthor tried to recreate and perfect the duplicate machine created by the scientist years before and tried to recreate Superman hoping to have his own Man of Steel to do his bidding. This again produced an imperfect duplicate which was named Bizarro. Like the earlier version of Bizarro, this version had chalky, white skin and childlike behavior. He often talked in opposites. This Bizarro instantly fell in love with Lois Lane and a imperfect duplicate of Lois came to be and Bizarro and his own Bizarro Lois went on to find their own Earth and created their own Bizarro World. Still makes ZERO sense that Martha Kent and Lois Lane BURIED SUPERMAN!!! They BOTH know that he gets his strength from the Sun and it heals him as well. All Martha had to do was lay him on the freakin’ roof like a satellite dish and he’d have been back in time for dinner the next day.😅But, no…they buried his @$$ as far away from the rays of the sun as they could. Them cows WANTED him dead! 😂😂😂 The story is just as dumb as what the death they gave Johnathon Kent in the Superman movie; great fights, dumb story. Horrific Riddler/Lex Luthor as well. The DC TV shows on the CW and Fox on the other hand were doing very well, but the movie studios refused to use ANY of the show’s stories, crew, or cast in any of the movies and instead hired expensive actors thinking that their names were all that mattered and would be enough to fill theaters. Nope. Fans need a brilliant story, a cast and crew that loves and respects the original content even when there are changes that HAVE to be made for film and licensing (like the random arc change to MARVEL’s Thanos and WHY he was killing people or the lack of x-men in the Avengers, Professor X’s son David Haller, and the Fantastic 4 not being under Disney yet so they also got left out of The Avengers).
So...here's the deal with how Darkseid does business... 1) He used to just conquer worlds the old-fashioned way and use a really laborious process to transform the conquered peoples into Parademons. 2) Then he found/built the Motherboxes to forcibly transform worlds to be just like Apokolips, and directly convert the entire population into Parademons in one fell swoop. 3) This entire time, he's been searching for what's called the "Anti-Life Equation". What it basically boils down to is that it's a kind of equation that forces everyone exposed to it to lose all hope, all ambition, all compassion, and all independence. All anyone can do is exist, and obey whomever "solves" that equation. Everyone under its power exists in a desolate, corrupt pantomime of actual life. Its effects are instantaneous, pervasive, and there is no defense against it. If he got his hands on it, it would mean he could conquer any world, no matter how powerful, instantly...just by exposing them to knowledge of the equation. It's...like a viral meme that is specifically designed to psychologically eviscerate you. 4) Darkseid wants Superman because that alone would DOUBLE his might. But that's a perk, not a mission objective. He'll gladly kill Superman if it comes to it, but he'd be more pleased with turning him, and gaining the sheer power of a Kryptonian as a result. That's what all the visions are about. Lois dying in some event, and Darkseid stepping in to exploit Clark by telling him she died because of the humans and their selfishness. When he does turn, that's what all the Batman the rebel stuff is all about. Bats, Joker, Barry, all the rest...they're all desperately trying to fight back against Darkseid when he's got Superman working for him.
Couple things oak and mason ,in the 50s superman comics were selling like crazy so when the first justice leauge comic came out it had martain man hunter on the team instead of superman for sales purposes, ok the zack cut was gonna follow up with more hero solo movies and 2 more JL movies ,part 2 was gonna be the earth invasion where heroes and villians die and the remaining heroes and villians team up to stop darkseid ,there is a thing called anti life equation if you get it it breaks the will of every iving thing and darksied killing lois made clark give in to the equation ,the heroes build the cosmic treadmill(which is from the comics and increases flashes power and opens portals) and also have joker steal a mother box for to help power it which so flash can go back in BVS and warn bruce about the future and JL 3 was gonna be the final battle and flash setting everything right agin with time travel ,sorry this is so long but it really does fill in gaps for people who arent in to the darksied comic lore and the rest of zacks JL movie plan ,oh and the end was supposed to be john stewart green lantern going to bruce in the one you just watched but they had a GL show planed at the time so thats why martain man hunter showed up instead..sorry this is so long
This movie was just amazing. So much was added that it’s literally a completely different movie. Like you really can’t compare. And quick answer to your question on what dark side is after. The “anti life equation” is almost best described as sentient math that makes you really really sad like no more wanting to go on and fully subservient to whoever controls it. If you wanna see a really amazing comic line involving it. Check out DCs “Deceased”.
The Apocalyptic scenes in BvS and in this Masterpiece are actually visions of another time line. The Flash was time traveling using something called The cosmic treadmill. That is how The Flash was able to visit Bruce Wayne in the Batcave, and you could tell he was much older and wearing some kind of battle suit.
Zack's adopted daughter Autumn had committed self-termination while he was finishing up this movie. He stepped away from the production as a result. Joss Whedon took over and re-shot some things so they could cut it down. His original vision was to have a part 1 and part 2. Since he stepped away the studio decided to cut it down to only 1 movie. They cut all back-story items and cram everything down. The time travel portion of alternate universes was teased during Batman V. Superman. When The Flash comes to Bruce and tells him, "Lois, the key is Lois." You get the broken world universe of Superman losing Lois and going insane. It's very sad what happened for this result but I'm hopeful more people get to enjoy how great Zack Snyder is.
the guy that shapeshifted from superman's mom was martian manhunter. One of my fave DC heroes. A martian with telepathic poser, shapeshifting abilities, etc
The end future scene has one of my favorite dc antiheroes is Slade Wilson or Deathstroke, the Terminator. Deadpool is a ripoff in name mostly. He's never been given a proper retelling in animation or live action imo. He's a super soldier serum origin turned contract killer. Originally set against the New Teen Titans because his son Grant took a contract he turned down and the knockoff serum he took killed him. His wife Adeline tried to kill him with a point blank shot to the back of the head. He heard the hammer falling and dodged, losing an eye. He has a code of honor. He is physically 9x better. Faster, smarter, stronger than he was as a soldier. Uses guns, a staff/energy weapon, and a sword. The only similar power to Deadpool is he has a much slower healing factor. He was laughingly put in a series against Batman and lost. He has tricked, escaped, or knocked out half of the Justice League.
I love how they made DaSaad a big part of the movie, but the other person with Darkseid is Granny Goodness, who leads the training of Darkseid's brainwashed lieutenants. And the symbol in the ground is the Anti-Life Equation. Darkseid desires it because it will allow him to control all life in the universe. It's named as such because if someone else controls your life, you're not really alive. Before Steppenwolf knew Earth held the Equation, it was simply another planet to conquer.
40:49 as unbelievable as that may sound like. It is true. The Justice League movie that WB sabotaged was 2hrs long. They brought in Joss Whedon to direct the movie after Zack Snyder had to stop production because his daughter committed suicide. And WB being tasteless as they were, quietly fired Zack and brought in Joss to complete the movie and they mandated a 2hr runtime. The original plan from Snyder was to release a 3 hour+ movie for the theatres and then an extended cut for the bluray. But then in 2021 WB finally let Zack Snyder complete his vision and released the entire 4 hour long movie for the launch of HBO Max. By the way none of the cast were happy with that entire ordeal of WB treating Zack Snyder cruelly, thats why Ben Affleck never directed and acted in his Batman movie. Ray Fisher who played Cyborg is fighing against WB for discrimination. A lot of confusion with Henry Cavil as he was brought back for the Black Adam movie and then he was let go because James Gunn became the new head of DC Studios and said they are going to do a full on reboot.
Watching the end credits got me (the version of Hallelujah playing) with the context of Zack Snyder's daughter's suicide causing him (in part) to not be able to finish the project originally, then finally being able to set things right. If you didn't listen to the Allison Crowe version of Hallelujah from the credits all the way through, DO IT 😭🥰
Martian Manhunter, the guy who spoke to bruce at the very end, is the same guy who went to Lois and said that the world needs her too. He’s able to shapeshift to disguise himself among humans. If you remember from Man of Steel when superman is “arrested” by the military, Martian Manhunter was like the head military guy interacting with superman in those scenes because he knew superman was kryptonian and I believe he knew how dangerous they could be so was worried about superman’s intentions. If you rewatch that movie with this context of knowing who he is then those scenes have a lot more substance and hidden subtext to them than they would’ve when you watched it before knowing Martian Manhunter was that guy. Also, because of superman’s powers, he also would’ve been able to recognize that the guy he was speaking to wasn’t human either despite his disguise, so it’s interesting to see their interaction after knowing that. Martian Manhunter is also eventually a part of the Justice League as he’s incredibly powerful and one of the last of his species, just like superman.
Originally, this was annual as a 2 parter. So it was intended to he this long. It was going to be broken up. Then the studio got cold feet after the reception of BVS. Snyder's director's cut of BVS is significantly better in my opinion. I wish WB had the balls to go with Snyder's vision from the start. Unfortunately they didn't, and now they're going to reboot the whole damn thing. It's a real shame. I love Snyder's take on the mythology of these characters. I also love the MCU, but I've been a DC fan since the 80s. This movie is excellent. Seen it 7 times, and I never feel the runtime. It's a great ride. MVP is Cyborg. He brings the heart and soul to it. Great reaction, guys. 👍
@Badd Medicine The cop that pulled his gun when Superman awoke was the original Jimmy Olsen from the Christopher Reeves films. He also had a different cameo in the Theatrical Cut.
How he envisioned Cyborg. No buttshot of Gal Gadot. A hell of tips from comic readers. This is the version that exists. The other one was a mass delirium. And, for Autumn.
I take this reaction video as how the general audience would have reacted to ZSJL if it was released in 2017. DC wouldn't be in the state it's in now if WB had only allowed Snyder time to mourn his daughter's passing and given him the chance to release his original movie in early or mid 2018.
The reasoning for the black Superman suit comes directly from the Return of Superman comic books where the suit was used to help resurrect him, partly as he was shown in this movie going to space and soaking up the sun’s radiation.
This movie is like having an omnibus edition turned into an epic movie. Just excellent. Really glad you both enjoyed it so much and if you ever watch the 2017 version, which I'd say don't even bother, but if you do... You will see how super different the whole thing is. The tone, the effects, the dialogues, the scenes, the beginning, the climax, the music... And it is just not good.
It took me about 5 seconds to realize the theatrical cut was going to be rough. It's a reshoot where some kid films Superman and asks him questions, and Superman acts like a completely different character, not even close to MoS or BvS.
I was so disappointed with Justice League when it first came out. Snyders version was so great though. The length of it was so worth it. I flipped out with the Martian Manhunter reveal. And i love that they had him playing the General from the first Man of Steel movie, showing hes been here and watching over Clark this whole time.
When Superman died in the comics back in the early '90s, they did some storylines like "Funeral for a Friend" and "Reign of the Supermen". That's where they introduced Cyborg Superman (Hank Henshaw), Superboy (Superman's clone), Steel (John Henry Irons), & Eradicator (another clone of Superman). Cyborg Superman found Doomsday's body, strapped it to a big rock, and sent it to space. It was later revealed that Cyborg Superman was secretly working with a villain called Mongul who ruled over a planet called War World and together they destroyed Emerald City (the home of Green Lantern) and were planning on building a giant engine in its place. Meanwhile, Eradicator stole Superman's body from it's tomb, brought it to the Fortress of Solitude, and used the Kryptonian technology there to bring him back to life. However, while he was dead, his body lost all of the power that it had gained from the sun over the years, but he did have the black suit with the silver S. Some time later, Kal-El & Eradicator team up with Green Lantern, Steel, Superboy, & Supergirl to fight against Cyborg Superman and Mongul. It's at this point that Cyborg Superman tries to hit the weakened Kal-El with radiation from a very large piece of Kryptonite, but Eradicator jumps in the way and takes the full force of it all. When the smoke clears, Kal-El is standing there, now with his original blue suit on, and holding Eradicator in his arms. When Eradicator stood in front of Superman and took that massive amount of Kryptonite, it transferred all of the energy from his body into Superman and restored all of his strength. Superman then proceeded to finish off Cyborg Superman with just two shots. Unbeknownst to Superman and the rest of the team, though, when Cyborg Superman sent Doomsday's body into space, he also sent a computer chip with a copy of his own consciousness installed on it. Doomsday's body then ended up on Darkseid's homeworld, but that's a story for another time.
You guys should definitely do a re-watch of the movies up until ZSJL, i.e. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman (Ultimate Edition, not the theatrical) and maybe Wonder Woman. You will get a perfect idea of all the storyline that was set for this movie and beyond, including the Knightmare scene in the epilogue! You guys would love the whole arc up till here. Also before Zack left the project, at one point, he proposed to the studio that they release this movie in 2 parts, a month or two apart from each other, which would have been a good call had they gone through with it.
On the runtime, the studio...im guessing to earn some goodwill, didnt ask Snyder to edit a single minute of his footage for runtime. This was everything. Just reducing some panning shots, clipping some scenes that linger, there is a 3hour and 20-something work of art in there. I love this movie.
I love to see reactions from people who have absolutely no dog in the fight between DC and MarveL These are the most genuine reactions. And I have also never heard any of these people hate Zack's movies for DC. They all react exactly like you guys when they have not been brainwashed or programmed to hate it like so many out there. When did I realize Josstice League 2017 was going to suck? About 2 weeks before its release. I'm a hardcore DC fan and when I saw the first trailer for this movie mid-2016, I was already sold on the idea to see it as I love MoS and BvS but I didn't want to be spoiled on anything. Thats's why I completely quit looking for any news regarding DC for more than a year until the release of Josstice League 2017. I didn't even know what happened to Snyder's daughter. So, two weeks before its release, I just wanted to know what the runtime was for this movie and when I saw that it was only 2 hrs, as a major fan of all Zack's works and their usual lenghtime, I already knew it was impossible that the studio hadn't messed with his film like they previously had done with BvS and the 37 mns they had cut from the theatrical release (thank god for the Ultimate Edition...)... Now, fastforward to today. We're in 2023, no more Cavill, no more Batfleck, no more Gadot, no more Darkseid but Krypto has been cast for the next Superman movie and we have to be automatically and artificially excited otherwise we will not be labeled as "real DC fans"..
54:59 Mark! 65,247 Views + Mine! 🎉 3.4K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 Guys, you're welcome, and thanks! 😊 Notes: 5 out of 5 from me, too! ✨️ Ahem. There were two ways to see this version when it debuted. As a whole movie in limited theatrical release, or at home in chapters as a miniseries or as a whole movie. I didn't see it in a movie theater. My first experience was watching people react to it. Eventually, though, I got to see it when it was made available on a service that I had access to for a limited time. Now I'm back seeing reactions only. 😮 The behind-the-scenes shenanigans don't distract me from enjoying Joss Whedon's movies and series. I'll continue to enjoy "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" et cetera, et al regardless of how others feel about him! 😮😊 I for one don't see how the first version of "Justice League" is anything like any type of excrement and the Russians didn't bore me! 🤬 5 for it too! 😊 By the way! The last time that Ben Affleck and Diane Lane co-starred they played lovers! 😂 At least she didn't play his mother this time! When Tom Hanks and Sally Field first co-starred, they played lovers! Then in "Forrest Gump" she played the mother! 😮 Poor, Sally. 😢 Ben played the role of actor George Reeves who played "Superman" in the 1950s! 😮 A nickname for "Daredevil" is "Red Batman" So, Ben has worn the costumes of, Daredevil, Superman, and Batman, in that order I think. 🤔 Funny that you should mention Wolverine now that Henry has played that role! By proxy, retroactively, Batman and Wolverine have fought! 😮😂😅 Bye-bye for now! Namaste! 🙏
That Batman and Joker interaction was very intriguing!!! Wish they let Zack Snyder finish his story. Part 1 link below....

Superman will submit and work for Darkseid which is why Superman was holding his Mask in the beginning of the vision after Wonder Woman's death 💡👍(Nothing had Anything to do with The Flash missing with TIME)
Yall skipped the darkseid scene 🤦🏽♂️ dope reaction still fellas
Nope, at the time this movie came out, Snyder already said it's Superman Baby, that plans with bruce and lois was scraped years ago.@@xl081
It’s a long story but here goes:
Zack Snyder had fought Warner Brothers over the entire duration of filming this movie.
That was very well described man. Kudos!

@@Briggand ZSJL Steppenwolf is actually terrifying and sells that he is a “big bad”. Wheddon’s Step looked so goofy to me
cant fully blame whedon here no way studio wouldve approved the movie to be this long to include all of that first time around. even if snyder was in charge the whole time it probably wouldnt have been this long or good
@@seandevol3078 You kinda can when he cut those scenes out to add all of that painfully boring Russia stuff and a bunch of pervy jokes.
The Flash going back in time is probably one of the most amazing superhero scenes ever, and gave me chills
No cap bro, especially as someone who watches the shows religiously even tho they’ve been bad lately
@@nestak6076 they disappointed us so much with the show, so much potential but it died after season 4....atleast for me
It’s cool but can’t stand the actor and how they portrayed flash as a cringe dumb weirdo and how he runs is dumb . They made Wonder Woman cringe and acting bad too. Even if they’re like that in comments the flash show grant is so much better and isn’t cringe
I cry everytime. They cut a lot of out it on this reaction though
He helped the army fight zod in man of steel, helped Lois with her investigation that gave her crucial information to take down Lex in BvS and pushed Lois to be present at heroes park in zsjl that pretty much saved the team.
also the most powerful member of the JL admitted by superman himself.
Zack Snyder didn’t even get paid so that he could keep full control over the content of his movies. Simply a great man. Hoping you guys may give this little fan a second chance to appreciate him and his works with your future reaction videos. Thanks to you too.
They still cut Green Lantern out of this movie, which is yet another crime by WB.
🤡
Meh I liked the movie. Wish he got to finish the whole series. But great man is a bit much.
The fact that this was not shown in theaters is batshit crazy. This movie was incredible.
More than a foreshadow, I'd say it is a flashforward. But yes.
Imagine how much money they have lost by not letting him complete the arc?
Think of the black suit that Superman wears as a "solar suit" that helps him to recharge his powers faster.
It’s actually a Recovery suit that in the comics he used after Doomsday killed Superman.
@@tonysoto8949 yep, I know. I was assuming anyone who saw JL:SC also saw the previous movie where Superman had died.
Yes. Darkseid kills Lois when he comes.
I don't think they have seen MOS & BVS. There's no upload
The fact that we were robbed from this not being in the cinemas it’s insane…
Fun fact...the cop that's at the park when Superman comes back is the original Jimmy Olsen from the 78 movie
Y'all are legends for posting both today
As a fan of the Justice League since the early-'60s. I accepted the theatrical cut, but wasn't crazy about it. The Snyder cut is truly next level.
Gave it a 9/10.
i love backstory to movies and one little fact; the cop lois lane talks to was the actor that played jimmy olsen in the old superman tv series
Joker calling Mera, "My little fish stick." Is my favorite part of this whole movie lol.

So true
Love that we all got to see the Snyder Cut . Thank you for this review and glad you guys can honestly appreciate just how amazing this movie was . My only wish is that Snyder would get a chance at finishing his story with 2 more movies, but it’s not looking like that happen.
Honestly the last hour is the best part especially the flash Scene and ending
I can say with 100% certainty that if you watch the original 2017 release, you'll have even more respect for what Snyder did here. This version is superior in every single way. I'd love a theatrical release of this film.❤
I feel so, so bad for Cyborg's actor. At least this cut was released so he could get some credit.
This isn't the Justice League movie we wanted
This is the Justice League movie we deserved
I love how much y’all appreciate Cavill’s chest lol. And taking shots for the ancient lamentation is a hilarious idea. 😂
All i know is that I need the 4 hour show. The reason being we're stuck at home. This was during the virus happening and all theater close and people start calling food/grocery delivery and Home movie? Yeah. I love bingeing a whole season series and long movies in one go. 😊
The flash reversing back time is my favorite scene in this movie its absolutely amazing
19:29 yes, the legendary black suit from the comics 🥲.....what a moment
37:04 he is onevof the founders of the league as well, as strong as Superman
Never say Never my friend.
That would be a cool movie. I would like to see that.
6:03 - that's just an awesome moment! So well done, so meaningful!
35:45 Ben Affleck's Batman is so intimidating and the voice makes it so menacing.
This was awesome. You guys get it, wish we had more folks like you.
Was supposed to be Green Lantern (John Stewart, not Hal Jordan) in the end instead of Martian Manhunter; they even shot the scene. But WB didn't allow them to as they had plans for Green Lantern(s) at the time. It would have made more sense, as Bruce's reaction in the whole scene was far too casual and relaxed for this alien coming to his home like that.
from the other side, it looks like that Bruce is so done at this moment with all that dreams and world saving that nothing can surprise him now)
Like: "Another alien?
The rest were pretty bad reshoots to change dialogue to be "Marvel-like" (goofy and jokey, with oversexualised Wonder Woman scenes of chest-planting and ass-pov shots), some incredible stupid additions like Russian family that meant nothing overall (and still somehow lived in Chernobil, rooftop Batman-parademon scenes etc...), completely threw out soundtrack and replaced it with generic music (they didn't even use character themes, and music is like 50% of movie experience (MoS & BvS soundtracks are still unmatched to this day))
Overal plot is same, and actors are same, but these are completely different movies.
When you see the two films and compare and then the whole "For Autumn" comes up at the end, it hits on a very deep level.
Double dose of Badd Medicine! What a great Friday.
The thing Darkseid actually wanted is Anti-life equation. It gives immense power.
The actual Zack Snyder story for part 2 was
Darkseid gets the Anti-life equation from Luther and Luis gets killed by Darkside in battle..She was pregnant (a story line Theory says it was Bruce's kid) Superman goes into trauma and Darkseid takes control of Superman.
Zack knew after josh wedon his justice legue would need some intro on the characters so he made that 4 hour move.
The thing about zack snyder is, his daughter died while doing the movie so he had to step out of it, and josh weedon came and ruin it, but after some time he got back in it with a lil budget and did his version, the snydercut.
Flash running faster then the speed of light to get back to Cyborg before the explosion has always stuck with me, Such an epic scene
Take a shot whenever "Ancient Lamentation" comes in. 🤣
i recently watched Snyder Cut and was wondering what "for Autumn" was and got to know from the comment section that "Autumn" was Zack's daughters' name and the whole story behind it . and man was it a shock
Love the reactions!! Keep up the great work 👍
4:32 "Do not cite the old magic to me, witch... I was there when it was written." Say what you will about that movie, Liam Neeson is damn good.
Great reaction and analysis. This movie is what I was expecting since I was 15. #RestoreTheSnyderverse
Thank 🎉
I thought we have to wait another days for part 2
Couple things oak and mason ,in the 50s superman comics were selling like crazy so when the first justice leauge comic came out it had martain man hunter on the team instead of superman for sales purposes, ok the zack cut was gonna follow up with more hero solo movies and 2 more JL movies ,part 2 was gonna be the earth invasion where heroes and villians die and the remaining heroes and villians team up to stop darkseid ,there is a thing called anti life equation if you get it it breaks the will of every iving thing and darksied killing lois made clark give in to the equation ,the heroes build the cosmic treadmill(which is from the comics and increases flashes power and opens portals) and also have joker steal a mother box for to help power it which so flash can go back in BVS and warn bruce about the future and JL 3 was gonna be the final battle and flash setting everything right agin with time travel ,sorry this is so long but it really does fill in gaps for people who arent in to the darksied comic lore and the rest of zacks JL movie plan ,oh and the end was supposed to be john stewart green lantern going to bruce in the one you just watched but they had a GL show planed at the time so thats why martain man hunter showed up instead..sorry this is so long
Barry reversing the time with that OST.....🤌
Spoilers! I don't think they have seen MOS & BVS. There's no upload
No dissing on the og flannel Superman look lol
Watching the end credits got me (the version of Hallelujah playing) with the context of Zack Snyder's daughter's suicide causing him (in part) to not be able to finish the project originally, then finally being able to set things right.
If you didn't listen to the Allison Crowe version of Hallelujah from the credits all the way through, DO IT 😭🥰
9:28 in the JL 2/3 Storyboards the set up was for Lois to have Bruce's child.
SnyderVerse is ahead of its time, and people don’t understand how this was done and it becomes way too much for people to comprehend.
How he envisioned Cyborg. No buttshot of Gal Gadot. A hell of tips from comic readers. This is the version that exists. The other one was a mass delirium.
And, for Autumn.
... for comic readers... sorry ^^
The black suit is the most absorbent to the sun's light.
Also before Zack left the project, at one point, he proposed to the studio that they release this movie in 2 parts, a month or two apart from each other, which would have been a good call had they gone through with it.
best cbm of all time IMO. Great reaction, guys!
Great reaction guys! You got a new subscriber. Much love!
🤜🤛
On the runtime, the studio...im guessing to earn some goodwill, didnt ask Snyder to edit a single minute of his footage for runtime. This was everything. Just reducing some panning shots, clipping some scenes that linger, there is a 3hour and 20-something work of art in there. I love this movie.
The cop that lois gives the coffee to is the actor who played jimmy olsen in the Christopher reeve superman films.
The Flash moment is one of my favorites moments on screen
If you hadn't already checked, yes your friend Brooke was in this movie as well as the theatrical version and Wonder Woman.
19:36 yes that’s his “solar” suit. It’s supposed to absorb the sunlight better.
The “knightmare” scene at the end is the future. Batman had that same dream in Batman v Superman.
54:59 Mark! 65,247 Views + Mine! 🎉 3.4K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 Guys, you're welcome, and thanks! 😊
Notes: 5 out of 5 from me, too! ✨️
Ahem.
The behind-the-scenes shenanigans don't distract me from enjoying Joss Whedon's movies and series. I'll continue to enjoy "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" et cetera, et al regardless of how others feel about him! 😮😊
I for one don't see how the first version of "Justice League" is anything like any type of excrement and the Russians didn't bore me! 🤬 5 for it too! 😊
By the way! 😢
Ben played the role of actor George Reeves who played "Superman" in the 1950s! 😮
A nickname for "Daredevil" is "Red Batman" So, Ben has worn the costumes of, Daredevil, Superman, and Batman, in that order I think. 🤔
Funny that you should mention Wolverine now that Henry has played that role! By proxy, retroactively, Batman and Wolverine have fought! 😮😂😅
Bye-bye for now! Namaste! 🙏
Martian Manhunter, usually one of the main 7 members of the Justice League. He can shape shift and faze through objects.
