So I was watching this vid as I often do. I am not from Pa but I am very familiar with the area. When you pulled up to the Ocean State Job Lot I was floored. Now when I move down there I will feel more at home. Great vid as always!
My longest code run was 52 miles, from city to mountains, late in the afternoon with lots of traffic. If I could have made a video of that run it would have been very frustrating to watch. Lots of people with their heads up their patoots, little to no situational awareness, plenty of people pulling to the left (?), some panicking and stopping in place. Do us a favor, simply pull to the right and stop. Thanks.

Sorry for all the false alarm calls you get. I monitor fire & security panels for residential and commercial buildings. I've had less than 5 real fire alarms. On occasion a pipe/sprinkler head is broken and that causes the waterflow system to be triggered. Also college students are bad cooks. ;D

Can someone explain to me what that ridiculous rotating light on the bottom left is all about?
It's an apparatus emergency light, also known as the Roto Ray, composed of three red or white beacons, the apparatus spins at a high rates of speed connected to the engine so it catches better attention of drivers instead of standard flashing lights
It's attached front and center of the rig's radiator, in other words, roughly rear-view-window level of most cars & SUV's. The "ridiculous" spinning warning beacon is an effective (albeit low tech) attention-getter, assuming drivers are paying proper attention to their rear view. More common in some US regions than others. Variations of almost every color combination exist, 3 red, 3 white, or 2 red and 1 white being most common. May sometimes feature one amber or green. Red/white/blue is of course also a popular choice.
our HEALTH and SAFETY department would be having fits. if that vehicle touched UK shores it would be seized and impounded for having a dangerous spinny light thing on the front. you could hurt butterflys with that thing
