Still the best and most overlooked part of P@. I would put the Loyalsock valley up against any place in the world for stunning beauty. I am biased being born and raised in the state but that area is amazing and pretty much unchanged for the 25 years that I have been enjoying its energy. Thank you for taking me along exploring an old friend. One traffic light in the entire county, 180 something named waterfalls...Route 87 has to be one of the prettiest drives anywhere!
I totally agree with you it’s a breathtaking area. Tons of places to explore on many different levels. Thank you so much and I’m glad you enjoyed the trip!
This is utterly amazing and spectacular youtube video. Im just blown away by the depth of this project, I know what you put into this endeavor, hiking 60 miles is an ordeal itself. Filming it, and in the comprehensive and in depth way that you did, just blows my mind. The history, narration, attention to detail, and unrelenting refusal to compromise on getting every shot all the way to the end, just phenomenal. If UA-cam gave out awards for content I would nominate this for best documentary film in the Pennsylvania Backpacking Genre!!! You are a machine Jeremy, and an inspiration, thank you for this trail guide, I hope to someday do this whole trail myself, but I just want you to know how much I appreciate your efforts here, you are setting such a high bar for the genre...Great Job! And wow that was pretty damn crazy the campsite that burned down...
Out of all the comments I’ve ever gotten this is the most inspirational to me. I recently bailed out on a trail due to bad weather and not getting the shots I wanted. I’ve been a little down ever since because I wanted to make it a true thru-hike and my next window of opportunity isn’t for another 2 weeks. I’ve been questioning my whole approach to backpacking and asking myself if it’s worth it. Thanks for making it worth it.
Appreciate you putting this together! you did a really good job with it. I learned some good things for when I head out from the Western trailhead next Sunday with my buddy.
@@mytreesloth You’re going to have a blast out there it’s a great trail. These are my favorite comments, knowing that it’s helping others put an adventure together! It’s going to be great weather too with the cool PA nights coming back. Happy trails!
Greetings. It's Saturday night. My wife went to Delaware overnight at . I tried to watch a western on tv. Didn't suit me. I put your LT video on. I backpacked it on three occasions in the late nineties and early 2000's. I remember a lot, but not all of it. I don't remember Wind Whipering Inn nor the old farm. I can't find my old guide book that would tell me of a relocation. I do remember camping on the bottom of the ladder. Fantastic site. That is where I woke up to feel and hear
@@quietjohnoutandabout6578 The LT is a premier Pennsylvania trail in my opinion! It’s full of history, great camps, and views. I want to camp at the spot by the ladder one day!
@@quietjohnoutandabout6578 That’s always something listening to what’s outside your tent the middle of the night! Or at least telling the story is more fun than going through it!
Amazing. You have the exact quide book that I had. Damn, just cant find it. My good friend had a cabin two miles from the Loyalsock Creek towards Dushore. I still camp on the property. I've been all over, but yet much more to find. Exciting to watch this video
Great video! When I hiked that I really wanted to be at Sones Pond on my 3rd night but I ended up hanging my hammock right at the top of Apline falls and so glad that happened... best hammock spot I've had so far. I need to get back there and do the Link Loop.
Hey, let's give a shout-out to Mrs. Jeremy! Love is good. Btw, what is this "off season" you speak of? You know, I do enjoy Stephen King but sometimes I feel like he could tell the same story at about 2/3 the length. Listening would probably make it seem shorter. I'm trying to fight my way through Under the Dome, 1072 pages. At times I just skim. But I gotta know what happens!
Mrs Jeremy and myself are looking forward to watching your latest adventure. I was just in that area myself and plan on returning soon. She also says the ending to Under the Dome is surprising to say the least.
I believe you are the first one I have seen use these large gaiters when its not winter. I am just wondering what the benefit is. It seems that this would be on the warm side. Just wondering what your thoughts are for this. Just curious.
They are great for the stinging nettles. I seem to walk through a lot of them on my hikes. They are also coated with permethrin which add another layer of tick protection. I already spray my pants and tuck in my socks so I’m sure that’s over kill. Another benefit I found is they velcro together to make a small ground sheet to dry my feet off on. I’ve used that a few times under my hammock or outside my tent door. I’ve just gotten used to them and they don’t seem to effect my comfort in any way.
@@andrewhyduke1974 I highly recommend this trail. It can be a tough one at times but so many views and loaded with history. This trip was during the beginning of May right before the seasonal fire ban was lifted. Happy trails!

@@Hiking.InspiredSo kind of you. Please leave a message if you like.
I feel like i watched this exact video a few weeks ago. But yet its a new upload
Yes this is all three parts of my last hike put into one video. I’ll make sure that it’s more clear in my future titles.
No problem. I realized that after I looked at the other ones. It's all good. I love these videos
Another epic journey!
Time for the next one! I’m hoping you’ll be pleased with what I chose for the next.

OK, I'll read on, then! Getting ready to go camping for a couple of days, with light hiking and heavy reading.

The ground sheet idea is not a bad idea. I have a pair of these mainly for winter. I may have to look at it again.

Did you report that burn section?
That was definitely a scene, but I did not report it. To think how fast that could happen is scary.
