    Thanks for making this video. I now have another great trail to add to my PA bucket list. Great job showing the highlights and the somewhat confusing parts. Subscribed!

    I watched another vlogger's account of this trail and decided that it is not for me. However, having just seen this, you have changed my mind. Love the Google Earth segments and that you show your mistakes. Good work, sir!

      Thanks! It was good hike, but I may have underestimated the distance and the difficulty for doing it as a one-nighter. LOL It may be more enjoyable to break it up into 3 days, 2 nights.

    Yep around 16:45 is the re-route. I help take care of the LT and I think we mark it well, but the rangers mark the Link 'X' trail, although the Alpine Club helps with the maintenance. I've tried to hike the old path, but there's really no getting through unless you walk/swim/wade the Loyalsock Creek in areas. Apparently, there used to be spring kayaking races, but a local doctor told me that it was stopped due to too many injuries. I've tried kayaking in the late summer, and I can tell anyone considering it NOT TO EVEN TRY (it's too dry, but some areas are dangerous). Below Forksville is a better place to Kayak (and yes the General Store in Forksville [over the covered bridge] has the best food in the area).

      Yeah, there was no safe way to get through by the old route. It just goes to show that even though you may have hiked a trail once before and you think you know the way, the situation may have changed since the last time, and you still need to pay attention. I learned that lesson here. But otherwise the markings were very clear and easy to follow. Beautiful trail and a great loop!

    World’s End State Park! Spent a lot of time at World’s End and Sullivan County my first 21 years. A very special place. Excellent production and content as always. Whenever you’re in the World’s End/Forksville area I keep hoping you’ll stop in at The Forksville General Store for your after-hike burger :-). Their food is legit. Thank you for another great video!

    Enjoyed this video for sure! My girl friends and I have been slowly section hiking the trail, packing in and spending the night. Was cool to see you using the same campsite that we had used recently.

      Thanks! That area around Big Run has a few other nice campsites too. I may revisit that area some time and see what else is there. Also the Sones Pond area looks like it has some great camping too. Glad you enjoyed the video!

    Nice. I wonder if you would ever consider doing a clip about how you set up your video gear, because it's interesting to see you filming yourself walking from a distance from yourself. In any event, good video. Keep them coming if at all possible.

      That's the invisible selfie stick trick you can do with an Insta360 camera. I try to only use it sparingly since it's kind of a gimmick, but you don't see it used that often in backpacking videos. Sometimes it gives an interesting perspective though.

      Yes, it is really a nice loop. I had to come back for another try since I made quite a few mistakes on my first time out. But this time I made all new mistakes, so I consider it a win! LOL

    I really enjoy your videos so relaxing. I've been watching for a couple years. The one that stands out the most is the black forest trail. You killed my guts. I felt bad for you but I couldn't stop laughing because you kept saying if theres another stream crossing! And it kept happening UNREAL!then losing your water shoe. Every now and then I rewatch that one. I would like to try that trail. I just LOVE your filming. Thank you so much.

      Oh man, the Black Forest was a tough one for me. I learned a lot on that trip and did a lot of things in the hardest way, but I can laugh at myself now. Recently I went back there to redeem myself and hiked the full loop. And it's still one of the more difficult hikes I've ever done, but it felt great to finally finish it. Glad you enjoyed watching!

      I always seem to underestimate how difficult it will be. It looks easy on the map, until i get out there and see it from ground level. LOL

    I to had a hard time following the trail coming from haystacks. I lost the trail several times following little yellow disks that change between 3 different trails (all yellow) was pretty challenging the first time. Im heaed back up in 2 weeks to try it again.

    This video is well done, I enjoyed the Google Earth views and the video shows how difficult this trail can get at times. I will be giving this a go with a group in 2022 and you've shown enough detail to make me realize I need to train hard! LOL.

    • @downtoearthadventures1528
      @downtoearthadventures1528  3 роки тому

      Thanks! My first day was really difficult and very long and I probably underestimated how difficult it was. It might make a nice 3-day hike if you camp on the Link Trail by the creek just past Rock Run Road, but camping was otherwise a little sparse on the south side of the loop. As a 2-day hike it will definitely be a nice challenge.

    Very nice start to the video! I love that climb up to the old railroad bed. Cool stuff! The LT is a challenge, definitely. I live 10 miles away so it's a frequent haunting ground for me lol.

      @downtoearthadventures1528  3 роки тому

      Yeah, the Loyalsock Trail has some pretty steep climbs that I didn't expect. It's difficulty should not be underestimated, but the views and the variety are worth it.

    36:18 The bridge was built on site --wood milled at the site.

      Nice! I really appreciated having this bridge at the time. I remembered my first time here doing a rock scramble and losing the trail completely, so the bridge was a welcome site, especially in bad weather.

    Backpackers are ruining this trail with their campsites.
