Oxhorn, apparently if you steal one of the cat bowls, that bowls owner (one of the cats, each cat owns its bowl) will steal it back from you and it will be in their inventory, also could it be a possible sailor moon reference?
Is that last reference (the bed) for Dark City? In the movie, creepy dudes in hats, long coats and sunglasses use drugs to "give" people new memories every day. I think I remember them drugging people, putting them into their beds after doing their memory wipes, and even taking notes. Might be a subtle reference to the film, not sure.
Weren't they swapping brain fluid to give the new memories? If I remember right they had one guy who was doing the actual procedure, in fact they made him do it on himself to wipe out his memory of who and what he really was. Not a bad film really.

Great video Oxhorn, I just wanted to say that I only found your channel 3 days ago but it has quickly become my favourite. Thanks you for the interesting stories, the great daily videos and finally thank you for that great beard and bowler hat. ;)
Hey Ox! I have a theory. The dam was used to generate power for the town of Bradberton. I think this because the nuka-world take up a lot of power. Also Ox good video! I'm almost done watching :)
I'm pretty sure the inspiration for Bradberton wasn't Walt Disney's dream town, but instead Hershey Pennsylvania which was built by Hershey for his workers in his factories. Not completely sure, but I think it was more inspired by that P.S Keep up the good work Oxhorn, big fan
at the Morton residence you could just activate the power station from the outside of the house and for some reason doing so puts you inside the house itself. I swear Oxhorn you're one of the most respectful UA-camrs that I've had the pleasure of subbing to. not only are you well mannered and polite, you don't swear, you don't shout and your content is both informational and entertaining. keep up the work man ✌
How have you never heard of the man? He's famous for a murder(which he was acquitted for due to jury slant and his defense attorney making up a slogan "If the glove does not fit, you must acquit." Inspite of the fact it was a skin tight glove and O.J. tried to put it on while wearing nitrate gloves already.) Plus there's the low speed chase in his white Ford Bronco there after. He also was in the Naked Gun and a lot of other movies back in the day, after his professional football career.
All ghouls turn feral eventually, Hancock included. It might be in centuries, but might also be just days. There are examples of people who've lived as ghouls for years upon years before turning feral, while others went from human to ghoul to feral with almost no pause between. Sometimes it takes weeks for a ghoul to turn, sometimes it happens over just a few days (or even mere hours). There seems to be no way of predicting.
I don't know why Oxhorn doesn't know this. It's pretty much established that continued exposure to high level radiation causes ghouls to go feral. It's mentioned the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide that the ferals in Cambridge Crater were actually sentient ghouls trying to establish a settlement, but turned feral as a result of the radiation. For this reason, all ghouls you find in the Glowing Sea are feral, and it's for this reason that the ghouls in Kiddie Kingdom only started to become feral *after* they began to use the misters to spray irradiated water. (I'm guessing low levels of radiation are fine, since you find sentient ghouls in places like Quincy Quarries). So even after you become a ghoul, just stay the hell away from any more radiation exposure and you won't turn feral. That's how pre-war people like Kent and Vault-Tec rep can survive 200 years without going feral.
Rad levels and mental/nuero exposures will determine it. Many who quickly turned feral might be in areas where rad storms or the ozone was radiated and they inhaled it more and it wreaked their brain to feral. Not a lot of rad storms in Goodneighbor or even the Slog thus the ghouls like Daisy and Wisemen seem to be good people. Same with Kent, the toy guy at the Slog, and the Vault Tec guy.
Btw, it's been pretty well established that any ghoul can become feral. It's also been suggested that it has to do with the amount of radiation they take over the years. They get used to the idea that they are immune to radiation, but don't realize it's still messing up their brains. This is why glowing ones (ghouls who have taken the most radiation) are almost always feral.
Hey, they do have magnetic strip cards in the Fallout universe Ox, you loot the Employee ID card in the Arc Jet Systems building, and use it in door locks that are clearly card strip readers
enclave315 Depends on varying factors. Such as Atmospheric radiation, mental willpower, and obvious things such as quality of life. A ghoul may not live to even become feral, or they can focus on something to keep their mind sharp, but if there is more radiation pouring into their system then they can turn even faster.
the three mannequins are most likely a reference to the real life men in black. they usually travel in pair though. but they have been sighted talking or wanting to talk to people who have seen anything that is related to aliens. they have been known for wearing black suits, hats, and sun glasses. they usually are very pale and look like each other. they also refer to each other as numbers and not names.
i never understood how the raiders in nuka world joined, or how new raiders will join, if the only way to nuka world is to go through the gauntlet. if you get through and succeed in the gauntlet you become overboss. how do you just BECOME a nuka world raider?? obviously you cant just walk in because theyll kill you.
Caitlin Conn The gauntlet is fairly new and the raider groups aren't particularly needing to recruit as they aren't in any particular danger. I get the impression that up until recently they were actively recruiting people or allowing people to join. The Pack strike me as the only group they isn't too selective about who joins.
sam raynes Lol until you show up and annihilate them easily (if you succeed to do "Open Season).." I literally killed most of the Pack by stealth and mines, then used my Deliverer maxed out to take the rest.
The BOS IV paintjob you found on the power armor is the Knight-Captain paintjob, which is normally unobtainable for the player and the only person wearing power armor with that paintjob is the Brotherhood Knight-Captain who leads the assault on Acadia if you choose the Brotherhood ending in Far Harbor.
it looks like a interrogation scene, he is ductaped down, a pistol a threatening tool, and the clipboard to write down what he said, and with the sunglasses and fadoras it may be a stereotype of the FBI or a different secret service, just my opinion
magnetic strips and crt screens are nothing to do with each other nor is the power of their computer. they must have magnetic storage devices as that is how the tapes and internal storage on their robco terminals would have worked.
yeah that's a big Easter egg to the Dark Souls series I've played all of them and the ideas that you would rest at the bonfire and that's how you heal up and get more healing potions I have no idea why I put that in there but I've seen other games put references and jokes to Dark Souls so I guess they just thought you know whyn't want it
True enough and I saw someone in the comments recommend Dark Souls I do highly recommend the Dark Bourne series if anyone's interested I've beating all the game than any are really interesting but for anyone pick them up they are extremely hard and they will take time to be I highly recommend a walkthrough for them if it's your first time playing otherwise I do highly recommend the games they are really good they are just extremely hard challenge though so you are going to die a lot so if you don't know if you can handle that kind of frustration I recommend Lord the Fallen it's a little bit easier to good start
As a side note, gift cards were around before we had magnetic readers. When I was working in a department store, we actually had someone come in with paper gift cards/certificates, upwards of 30+ years old. They officially didn't expire (as was common previously), and we honoured them.
this is a really fun place to explore, thanks for showing it. I love all your videos and sometime soon, (when I have some money) I'm gonna buy some of your T-shirts......so I got a question and please direct me to the vid if you have made one in re: Saving Nick Valentine ....my question: does anyone know what it means to tell Skinny Malone to remember the quarry, Lilly June on the rocks....??? I have looked everywhere but I can't find anything about it. He will let you run if you say that, it must have some reference to his past miss deeds, or maybe one good thing he did at some point. Do you know?
Mildred Marshall If you pass the speech check to end peacefully with Skinny Malone, he mentions that he owes Nick Valentine because of the Quarry. From what I understand, Nick mentions this when talking to us for the first time. Nick also says that Skinny owes him for "putting him in the hole for 2 weeks." I believe Lilly June was a person that mattered to Skinny, and Nick was able to save her, or it is symbolism for something on the rocks of the Quarry. It is also possible that Nick helped Skinny out by getting his men or himself out of the Quarry after they encountered danger. From all the minor mentions of this, I believe that is what occurred. I hope I helped out, and continue watching Oxhorn! :-)
If I remember properly, there was a person in South Boston who sold a "cash card" or something like that which was a pre war relic that was used for purchases. You can actually cash it in at The Bait Shop in Far Harbor
Ox, remember that Parker Quinn sells you charge cards in Southie, and that Vault-Tec, General Atomics International, Mass Fusion, Wilson Atomatoys, Jamaica Plain, and Boston Airport all have Access and ID Cards you can find to scan and open doors. with that kind of tech, there must be readers for gift cards and prewar charge cards.
Hey Ox I'm at the point in the video where we find Rachel. Feral ghouls go feral because they live by themselves and stop interacting with people that care for them. Ghouls go feral because they stop caring and stop fighting the madness that wants to take hold... but that's my opinion I'm sure that isn't the case but it's what I like to think. Love your videos keep up the awesome work
Human in a cage with cats outside reminds me of an episode of the Avengers where Steed and Peel were tracking an invisible lion. Turned out to be brainwashed cats. One big game hunter got shredded inside a cage. I love that show.
I was thinking Bradberton could have also been inspired by Hershey, PA since both are kinda related to the food industry and named after they're founders. Great video as always Oxhorn!
I'd like to see a settlement added to the reservoir. It would be great to be able to build your own high rise off the face of the dam, overlooking the Nuka World you reestablished.
I was stunned by the prices listed in these terminals and then I remembered the fallout inflation, there’s no way someone could sell an ashtray for 30 real life dollars. It’s still weird how low it is though, since a car can cost millions of dollars. You’d think the ashtrays and gift cards must be much higher.
:30 We read "How the other half ate" in one of my history classes. It was a decent book, but one thing I remember from it was about the older factories at the turn of the century. They would build these shanty towns around the factory for the workers to live in. Often times they would only pay the workers say 50% of their pay in actual cash but the rest would be paid in "credits" to be used at the town stores.. obviously, these stores would overcharge for basic amenities, giving back a majority of the workers pay to the factory... Seems rather fitting for such a thing to have happened in the Fallout world. 15:00 They do have card readers, you used to get through doors with key cards in the earlier Fallout games and they implemented that in the Bethesda Fallouts as well. Also, Cathode ray tubes are for visual display, they used other vacuum tubes for other purposes as the Fallout world never "invented" (or upgraded to) what we now call the capacitor or transistor. 23:15 The register had Sy-phillis lololz Its a fallout joke...
As an electrical engineer, I would say that nukes would most likely wipe out magnetic strip data or any devices that read it, however holotapes exist, meaning that tech had developed to a point of preservation from (at most) nuclear disaster. BUT, you bring up the point of inflation and the economy, so perhaps to drive customers in, some businesses started having their own credit cards that offered certain rewards for choosing to shop at Sup r Mart rather than the mom and pop corner store. I love your take on these things, and even though this video is years old, I hope you see this and know a fan appreciates it
The gift cards don't have to be magnetic. Maybe you could just use it to reduce the price of a purchase, or if something was under $5, they could give you the change in physical money.
You can glitch inside the Morton Residence without going through the pipe! If you're wearing power armor you can activate the power armor station through the window and you'll be teleported inside to work on your power armor. Exit the repair station and you're inside. I figured this out when I couldn't find a way in (I didn't know there was a pipe inside until I was exploring the inside after glitching in).
That suit of power armor in the Morton residence had all different kinds of paints on it. When I found it (mine happened to be a full set of T-60) there were 2 military pieces, an atom cats arm, BOS helmet and two normal pieces. Very weird.
Hancock shouldn't turn feral. He wasn't turned by radiation but by a drug, so unless he's constantly taking rads that will destroy his mind, he should be fine
Remember that you need an ID card to unlock the storage room in Wilson Atomatoys, so they do have magnetic cards. Shuttle service from a parking lot to a point of interest, (like Nuka World), that run every 15 minutes, are actually not uncommon today.
14:21 gonna open my claptrap here but thats not the only thing gift card can be, growing up in a small town in Finland i remember buying gift cards to a candy store as birthday present. They were simply distinctive pieces of cardboard with the sum and a stamp of the store to prevent bootlegging them. Once you bought something, the store clerk just wrote the remaining balance on that card.
Love your videos ox always watch after work I usually am to busy looting or exploring and miss some of the lore of these places so your videos are great 👍
Fun fact: the “lake” that flows south from the dam is actually the Connecticut River, as Nuka World is roughly located where the real-world Six Flags New England is, in Springfield, Massachusetts
You just click on the PA workbench through the window and it pulls you inside the house. I've never entered through the pipe, only exited. Also, there are several places in the game (and DLCs) where you have to use 'access cards' to enter areas, like the one you find at the Wilson Atomatoys factory, so they did have that magnetic-strip tech.
Love you Oxhorn, I realized I'd seen the ROLFMAO video in middle school. And now you make fantastic Fallout videos, Small world :) I hope you can do a video on "The White Glove Society" sometime, have a nice weekend!
Regarding the gift card: it could easily be some kind of holotape that they just call a "card". Data can be written onto and read from it, and they're advanced enough to put rudimentary games on, so they can easily do something like store a monetary balance. You don't find these in the post-apocalypse because they've probably been refurbished into audio diaries or the like.

Luna means moon so maybe

Mass Fusion and Vault-Tec used card reader technology, as well.
Also Wilson Atomatoys used card readers.

I always love it when you explain the town layouts in Fallout, i hope you'll also do it in the next Fallout.
I think Bradberton is actually a reference to the town of Hershey, PA, which is a town built by Milton Hershey, the founder of Hershey Chocolate, outside of the Hershey Park amusement park. When Hershey was built to be the home for workers in the Hershey factory.
Gift cards dont necessarily need magnetic strips maybe it works like a pre paid check
highlandrab19 also, they used actual cards, using paper or cardboard withe the amount written on it. similar to a voucher.
theres also the flatbed card merchant plate dongles.
they're a manual credit card reader that uses a paper to copy the credit card info. thats then sent, i believe, to the bank. I've never personally used one and only seen them in use in places without an internet connected, like rural alaska

also the treasures of Jamaica Plain janitor access id card.

I'm pretty sure the inspiration for Bradberton wasn't Walt Disney's dream town, but instead Hershey Pennsylvania which was built by Hershey for his workers in his factories. Not completely sure, but I think it was more inspired by that
P.S Keep up the good work Oxhorn, big fan
at the Morton residence you could just activate the power station from the outside of the house and for some reason doing so puts you inside the house itself. I swear Oxhorn you're one of the most respectful UA-camrs that I've had the pleasure of subbing to. not only are you well mannered and polite, you don't swear, you don't shout and your content is both informational and entertaining. keep up the work man ✌
26:29 it's a reference to Dark City or Clockwork Orange
you are probably right but could it be reference to oj simpson
***** Why?
if you know the story in news how oj simpson got convicted for his part of a robbery in a hotel
***** Sorry, never heard of him
How have you never heard of the man? He's famous for a murder(which he was acquitted for due to jury slant and his defense attorney making up a slogan "If the glove does not fit, you must acquit." Inspite of the fact it was a skin tight glove and O.J. tried to put it on while wearing nitrate gloves already.) Plus there's the low speed chase in his white Ford Bronco there after. He also was in the Naked Gun and a lot of other movies back in the day, after his professional football career.
Mid 2024 and still enjoying Ox videos as I did 7 years ago. The level of detail about lore and his editing skills makes Oxhorn a must for Fallout fans
i dont think that handcock could turn feral, because if i remember correctly he was turned by chems
A radiation chem. He is a relatively new ghoul. I think he has several hundred years ahead of him yet.
Simon, Thank you for talking about the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide. I didn't know it existed, but now I have some reading to do. Cheers.
I laughed at the cash register thing 4x more than i had to, your humor is spot on Ox, I would love to hear some more in upcoming videos
Ox horn is the best active fallout 4 UA-camr in my opinion
Btw, it's been pretty well established that any ghoul can become feral. It's also been suggested that it has to do with the amount of radiation they take over the years. They get used to the idea that they are immune to radiation, but don't realize it's still messing up their brains. This is why glowing ones (ghouls who have taken the most radiation) are almost always feral.
the cats are named for the cats in sailor moon.
Mr. Pebbles?
Then the white one would be named Artemis
But neither of them was named Artemis
Hey, they do have magnetic strip cards in the Fallout universe Ox, you loot the Employee ID card in the Arc Jet Systems building, and use it in door locks that are clearly card strip readers
I think it's all but fact in the fallout universe that all ghouls will go feral eventually
enclave315 Depends on varying factors.
Caitlin Conn Perhaps they just naturally reproduce with other raiders/slaves
Caitlin Conn people come from over the mountains. like the gunners
Caitlin Conn The gauntlet is fairly new and the raider groups aren't particularly needing to recruit as they aren't in any particular danger.
I get the impression that up until recently they were actively recruiting people or allowing people to join. The Pack strike me as the only group they isn't too selective about who joins.
sam raynes Lol until you show up and annihilate them easily (if you succeed to do "Open Season).." I literally killed most of the Pack by stealth and mines, then used my Deliverer maxed out to take the rest.
ghouls are immune to radiation, but the more radiation they absorb, the faster they become feral
Oxhorn you should a video on the named ghouls mr. And mrs rosa, mr and mrs summers
17:42 love the cartwheeling ghoul. Wish that happened more often.
23:21 lmao so true Ox
The BOS IV paintjob you found on the power armor is the Knight-Captain paintjob, which is normally unobtainable for the player and the only person wearing power armor with that paintjob is the Brotherhood Knight-Captain who leads the assault on Acadia if you choose the Brotherhood ending in Far Harbor.
it looks like a interrogation scene, he is ductaped down, a pistol a threatening tool, and the clipboard to write down what he said, and with the sunglasses and fadoras it may be a stereotype of the FBI or a different secret service, just my opinion
"I'm just happy about the stem packs "I sure love this guy
magnetic strips and crt screens are nothing to do with each other nor is the power of their computer. they must have magnetic storage devices as that is how the tapes and internal storage on their robco terminals would have worked.
I actually really enjoy this channels content, keep it up man
Looks like the mannequins were a reference to Blues Brothers to me
Ever seen it, Ox?
Doesn't fit the scene.
This birds-eye type of videos are very good! You should use this more.
yeah that's a big Easter egg to the Dark Souls series I've played all of them and the ideas that you would rest at the bonfire and that's how you heal up and get more healing potions I have no idea why I put that in there but I've seen other games put references and jokes to Dark Souls so I guess they just thought you know whyn't want it
plus the sun clock above it praise that sun xD \0/
True enough and I saw someone in the comments recommend Dark Souls I do highly recommend the Dark Bourne series if anyone's interested I've beating all the game than any are really interesting but for anyone pick them up they are extremely hard and they will take time to be I highly recommend a walkthrough for them if it's your first time playing otherwise I do highly recommend the games they are really good they are just extremely hard challenge though so you are going to die a lot so if you don't know if you can handle that kind of frustration I recommend Lord the Fallen it's a little bit easier to good start
Cory Dorton it’s soulsborne actually
Dork Souls
The comment about the body pillow was hilarious! So much more respect
first time to get to see this after being only posted 8 minutes ago.
I enjoy his Videos and as normal well done :)
Always at 12 EST
If I remember properly, there was a person in South Boston who sold a "cash card" or something like that which was a pre war relic that was used for purchases. You can actually cash it in at The Bait Shop in Far Harbor
I want a video on the story of philis
Ox, remember that Parker Quinn sells you charge cards in Southie, and that Vault-Tec, General Atomics International, Mass Fusion, Wilson Atomatoys, Jamaica Plain, and Boston Airport all have Access and ID Cards you can find to scan and open doors. with that kind of tech, there must be readers for gift cards and prewar charge cards.
Anyone watching in 1954?
Sam Moran I'm watching from 3054.
The bombs just dropped, radiation hit me so I am a ghoul, not turning feralmhkfplgnmgm mmgkfkll.bkkyllf.b mgmkgkgkkklllsopvp foopqporoyiiwix vbba.
Sam Moran I'm watching in 54 b.c
No way man! I just saw this in 2017?? How'd you get a computer back then ay??
Sam Moran boi you stupid I'm watching in 0 b.c
Hey Ox I'm at the point in the video where we find Rachel. Feral ghouls go feral because they live by themselves and stop interacting with people that care for them. Ghouls go feral because they stop caring and stop fighting the madness that wants to take hold... but that's my opinion I'm sure that isn't the case but it's what I like to think.
Love your videos keep up the awesome work
Can you do a video on the best/your favorite mods for Fallout New Vegas?
Ben Ali nah
Thank you so much for making these. I love to listen to them while playing the game. Its like a whole new radio station!
Who agrees Bradbertown would be a better name?
Human in a cage with cats outside reminds me of an episode of the Avengers where Steed and Peel were tracking an invisible lion. Turned out to be brainwashed cats. One big game hunter got shredded inside a cage. I love that show.
there are khajiits in fallout?
with a mod yes xD
I was thinking Bradberton could have also been inspired by Hershey, PA since both are kinda related to the food industry and named after they're founders. Great video as always Oxhorn!
Wait you don't know Dark Souls
you Maybe should stream it ;)
I'd like to see a settlement added to the reservoir. It would be great to be able to build your own high rise off the face of the dam, overlooking the Nuka World you reestablished.
Notification squad!!!

Love your vids Oxhorn also if you do decide to do skyrim I would be really happy it's my favourite game
23:15 The register had Sy-phillis lololz Its a fallout joke...
okay, admit it
you're antvenom
Ha, what freak has a body pillow?
*slowly slides Asuna behind me*
As an electrical engineer, I would say that nukes would most likely wipe out magnetic strip data or any devices that read it, however holotapes exist, meaning that tech had developed to a point of preservation from (at most) nuclear disaster.
X6-88 at Northpoint Resevoir: "Perfect spot for a Mirelurk Den"
5:07 I actually got an Atom cats power armor so I’m guessing it’s a randomized faction based power armor.
Love your videos ox always watch after work
I usually am to busy looting or exploring and miss some of the lore of these places so your videos are great 👍
Fun fact: the “lake” that flows south from the dam is actually the Connecticut River, as Nuka World is roughly located where the real-world Six Flags New England is, in Springfield, Massachusetts
And now you make fantastic Fallout videos, Small world :)
I hope you can do a video on "The White Glove Society" sometime, have a nice weekend!
hmn, first the teddy bears, then the Dinky Dinosaurs, now mannequins bein' all spook-like... such perplex.
This reminds me of the towns that big busses would build for their workers during the gilded age
Bradberton's office has a magnetic key card reader next to the keypad. So maybe there are magnetic strip giftcards.
So far you're doing an awesome job I like the map layout where you describe every house and every building and its purpose that is pretty cool
