Reason you can’t tell the difference between craft 64 and Bianco is because the craft 64 Pizzaiolo used to cook pizzas at Bianco. He filled in for Chris when he left for his asthma.
Dave's ratings are all over the place now.

youre right. putting bianco in the low 7s is a joke. theres a spot called La Grande Orange about 20 mins northeast of bianco that has the best pie in phoenix. so i would understand if he rated bianco a bit lower than that one. but chris has had 90-120 minute wait times for 20+ years now. His pizza is fantastic. It may not be Dave's style, but it should rate on the high end of his Neopolitan scale = 7.7/7.8. He underscored this one by a half point, which is a ROOKIE SCORE!!!

Used to go to this spot all the time. They make their own mozz (and sauce/ dough)… Plus they have a ton of beers on tap. Always gotten a table walking in. A great spot. Glad to see Dave giving them a shout!

Dave cares more now about the hierarchy of scores he’s given than he does about just tasting the pie and giving it a score.
An 8.3 now was a 9 two years ago
Just rate the pizza you are eating and reviewing. Stop comparing pizza joints. Seems like you play favorites to some pizza places. You eat so many pizzas you lost the feeling of what is good.
@@toddpacker9818 We're in the dead pie era of pizza reviews. The only ways to save the One Bite league are Frankie has to unretire or Dave has to go back to Di Fara, Lucali, JOB, and the New Haven spots to recalibrate his ranking scale
The scores are not the thing anyway. There were places were he said it‘s amazing. Gave it a 7.2 and the place still explodes because people see his reaction and the product. The score is fugazzi anyway, just have fun.

I’ve been here, it really has the vibe of a neighbourhood gathering place. Pizza and other food is perfectly good, wouldn’t go out of my way for it but would go back. Appropriate score.

I don’t know why but the .5 still feels like a rookie score.
I still think even calling the round X.0 numbers rookies scores is a rookie scoring system, you cant just cut out 10% of your potential rankings that leads to over and under scoring

I agree he does that often as like a power move to show those people aren't pizza critics and just casuals. So he has to go a little under them. The way he was talking about it you'd think that's a high 7's easily. He gives high 7's to ones he doesn't even like. Not sure what he gave the other place he was talking about but that might've also affected his score if he went too low on that place.

i lived at the apartments 1/2 block away across from the hotel. Only ate here once and wasn't bad but never went back or craved it. Now I know he boosts a point north ;) Then again, I'm from northern ohio where there's more pizza shops than people.

1 - You should do a revisit to your overall top 10 of all time series. See if they keep up to your latest standards. 2 - Your opening clip with "Davey Pageviews" should have the best rated pizza in the background instead of a pizza that you'd probably score a 5.4. This is my free advice, next one I charge for.
Dude gotta try NiMarcos Pizza in Flagstaff AZ. It’s a special style because the crust is made at 7000 feet elevation. It’s by far my favorite pizza. I’d like to see it get a rating.

when i see chared crust i think 7.9, when i noticed the artisinal nature and i thought 7.1 .. he landed at 7.5 , which is half way between the two.. a charcol artisinal is max at 7.5 for dave.
Ok, so what's the difference in style between wood-fired and coal-fired? I get that the source of the heat is different, but Dave always says he prefers coal-fired. Do the pizzas actually cook differently somehow?

As with all artisanal pizzas, not enough cheese. Steve hit the nail on the head here. The locals love the spot and the consensus is the pizza is average artisanal with not enough cheese. Or sauce. It's like eating a lot of crust.

I guess I'm just used to Pan? pizza. You know, like big box place pizza with the healthy amount of bread. Every time he eats all this thin stuff I'm like is that even pizza? I could probably eat the whole thing myself in one sitting with it that thin. If I haven't eaten anything else, I usually eat half a large pizza for a meal.
