I spoke for MADD 15 years or more before allowing myself to utilize technology to help deliver my messages. I painted Word Pictures and this practice or habit helped me stay 'present' in my presentations. Thanks for helping listeners remember the basics of REAL speaking skills.

Very cool & tremendously valuable. If I may add, there is a point that she didn't mention but performed really greatly at and that's elevated energy levels. Everyone wants to listen to someone who feels excited to say what they have & Laura did not drop her energy during the entire talk. Really awesome. I learnt a lot.

A useful, valuable, and relevant presentation. Very few people demonstrate different levels of energy. I look forward to some of Laura's students delivering a talk on the lines suggested by her. Best wishes.

That talk did absolutely nothing for me, far better ones out there! Mark Robinson Ted Talk is fantastic and covered many more none blatantly obvious points.

You don't have to stress every word like that, it's very tiring... Just relax a bit and calm down... Your tone of voice goes too much up and down and isn't natural

Carmen Alexandra Sure, but remember that in every second of this talk she has to keep demonstrating what to do. Her topic makes you hyper-aware of her presenting style, so she needs to keep it up.

I noticed this in all of her presentations (word stresses), but her basic content is valuable enough for me to suspend my disbelief. New speakers will immerse themselves with her talks with or as a super grateful experience. Like every speech, we take what we like and leave the rest. Well, I try to. She is teaching us patience as speakers who listen. Tiring is good. Peace~

A story is not always necessary. Teds are stories, but half are boring.
