It sounds like Baldurs gate is the Gotham to Waterdeeps's metropolis

That's an accurate description I'd say

waterdeep makes for really interesting political intrigue campaigns, lots of factions with lots of fingers in lots of pies. but yeah, for general crime and stabbery, baldur's gate is often a better fit. :D

The top three cities in the Forgotten Realms in any order are: Waterdeep, Neverwinter, and Baldur's Gate.
You should learn dragon lore next btw because it's literally the title of the game.

Fun fact cats where introduced to the british isles when the vikeings raided because they let the little guys hang out on the boats then they frequently left the boats and went on to live in the wild british lands.

hi, could you cover his video series on the most powerful creatures in D&D?"the strongest monsters in dungeons and dragons" "the strongest dragons in dungeons and dragons" and "the single strongest named monster in D&D" These videos just give you a mountain of lore and power scale from the D&D universe, it's just so incredibly good

Speaking about how foggy it is in Baldur's Gate according to the lore, in the game BG3 there is a chance in the Baldur's Mouth newspaper there will be a headline that says "Where has all the fog gone?!" because in the game it's not really foggy at all xD

That's awesome! Larian went through so many extra lengths to make the game an authentic dnd experience.

99% of DnD video games being set in the Forgotten Realms is a vast exaggeration. There are about 60 games set in the FR, while other DnD settings put together have 35, according to wikipedia. Sure, the setting contains 2/3rds of the DnD video games, and an order of magnitude more than each other setting, but by no means is that 99% of DnD video games. The "non-FR" games also contain some of my favourite DnD video games.
Re: the Flaming Fist, I'm going to quote Battlestar Galactica (the new show): "The army fights the enemies of the state. The police serve and protect the citizens of the state. When the army becomes the police, the enemies of the state tend to become the people." Except it's worse, because they're mercenaries too.
Minsc and Boo will be very familiar to you if you play BG1, and 2.
In the real world, many captains would refuse to set sail without a cat on board. It was considered lucky to have a ship's cat, probably because people didn't understand how rodents spread disease.

Good to know the stats about DnD games. I guess people nowadays are more used to the Forgotten Realms because of Baldur's Gate 3. As for Minsc and Boo, who I'm assuming are the dude and his hamster that I recognized, I have a feeling I'm going to like them a lot.

i like your videos so far but i have to tell you that i have not played Baulders Gate3 yet and when i do i want to do so spoiler as close as possible to spoiler free so i just want to request that you dont talk about bg3 events.

Will try to keep that in mind! I haven't played either so don't worry about spoilers since most of what I've said is apparently wrong to various degrees xD. I mention it occasionally since it's the only frame of reference I have.
